Chapter 102 Honestly, John, you’re practically got Down syndrome.
The veterans of America were completely convinced.
Within a few days, Lucas had acquired quite a few assets under his name, especially a bank opened specifically for him, dedicated to converting his dollars into precious metals, with tons of gold being stuffed into it.
Gold was nothing rare for Lucas; he could just find any planet in the galaxy, dig to a certain depth, and it would be full of the stuff.
There was plenty even just on Earth.
He didn’t even need to go to other planets.
The tax department was even more helpful, directly handing over an internal document granting "Permanent Tax Exemption."
As for how long this thing was valid, it would likely remain effective for as long as Lucas lived.
To share a well-known fact, no Viltrumite has ever died of natural causes to this day, so Lucas’s lifespan is far longer than the tax department’s.
For Lucas, money was purely for fun.
"Sir."
Ashley carried a tablet and pushed the door open to enter.
Her complexion looked exceptionally pale, and even her breathing was somewhat rapid.
"Your endocrine system is seriously out of balance, Ashley, and you have some heart issues. What have you done to your kidneys and liver?"
Lucas flicked his finger, and the minor hidden ailments in Ashley’s body were taken care of.
Ashley felt incredibly relaxed all over.
It was like returning to when she was twenty, the era of partying hard in college!
She could take on ten people right now!
"Sir, what happened?"
Ashley touched her hair, which was as thick as a bush.
"I just adjusted your body for you; consider it a small employee perk. Say thank you!"
"Uh, should I thank you here?"
Ashley tucked her hair behind her ear.
"What? No!" Lucas looked shocked.
He wasn’t in a rush to save up Evolution Points, so there was no need for such extreme methods.
"Alright, sir, something happened! Something big happened!" Ashley, having been distracted by Lucas, finally remembered the point.
She walked quickly to Lucas and handed over the tablet.
"You should look at this quickly."
Lucas took the tablet.
On the screen was a piece of street surveillance footage; the image was almost pixelated into a mosaic, but one could vaguely identify the man standing in the middle of the street.
He was wearing a simple hospital gown, had a muscular build, and his face was the kind of handsome that had a lot of character.
When he was young, he must have looked like a total heartthrob.
This guy was standing in the middle of the street, and for some reason, he suddenly crouched on the ground, and then the whole screen lit up.
According to videos taken by different residents later, the entire street, along with many citizens and vehicles that couldn’t react in time, and even buildings, were affected by the explosion.
The destructive power was quite high.
Vought Tower high-rise.
Homelander stared at the image on the tablet.
"Why are you showing me this? It’s just a rogue Supe; can’t you just send someone to take him out?"
Clara stood to the side, her expression very complicated. "No, he is not an ordinary Supe."
"That is Soldier Boy, once one of the most powerful Supes on Earth!"
"We have... a bit of a connection!"
Homelander then turned his face, his expression appearing somewhat bewildered.
"Who?"
"Soldier Boy, Benjamin, one of the few who received the early Compound V injections and successfully survived..."
"I f*cking know who Soldier Boy is! Please stop talking nonsense to me!! That damn old fossil should have turned to ash by now; why is he still alive?"
Homelander subconsciously felt threatened.
A once-strongest Supe, reappearing, and it looks like he even has new abilities.
This made him somewhat panicked.
Clara wasn’t doing much better.
"Trash! Trash among trash!! I am never short of sycophants around me, but among these people, they are either low-intelligence or full of schemes. F*ck you!!"
Homelander smashed through the window and flew to the upper floors; he saw Lucas’s figure.
"Crash!" The floor-to-ceiling window was smashed to pieces by brute force, and Homelander rushed in from the outside like an idiot.
Lucas didn’t even lift his head.
"John, can’t you f*cking knock? This Vought Tower is already rotting to the core, and you’re still here causing trouble."
Homelander was in no mood to banter with him.
"Guardian... Soldier Boy, he’s still alive, he’s back!"
"If he’s back, just arrange for him to go to a nursing home; Vought doesn’t support idlers."
Lucas looked indifferent.
"Didn’t you watch the news? That guy blew up an entire intersection; this is a terrorist! You should go and tear him to pieces!!"
"Homelander, that’s your dad! Do you have to be so heartless?"
Lucas raised his hand to interrupt; Homelander’s spit was almost spraying onto his face.
"I’m telling you, John, why are you acting like a Chihuahua? He hasn’t even done anything to you, and you’re already snarling? Can’t you have a little composure and calmness?"
Homelander: "..."
"It’s just Soldier Boy, isn’t it? A dead man who just crawled out of his grave; he can’t even get a commercial for a cup right now. What the hell are you afraid of?"
Lucas slowly stood up and floated around Homelander twice.
"Look at you, your face is scared pale. Come, come, let me check if you’ve wet your pants. Do you want me to have Annie buy you some feminine hygiene products?"
"The strongest Supe in all of America, scared sh*tless by an old fossil?"
"Go home, kid, Ryan is stronger than you!"
Homelander opened his mouth several times but was completely silenced by Lucas’s relentless chatter.
Besides, he had no face to speak.
"When there’s trouble, he comes to find his good brother; when there’s nothing, he comes to cause trouble for his good brother. The little stunts Stormfront has been pulling lately have already really annoyed the Guardian."
So he was acting incredibly cowardly right now.
He stood obediently to the side, like a schoolboy getting scolded.
"If you have the time to gossip, you’d be better off going back and training those abilities of yours. Your Heat Vision can’t even cut through a meteorite; do you even deserve to be called Homelander?"
"Are you getting old, or is your kidney function failing?"
"You’re just not good enough! It’s a waste that I even dragged you along to fight crime; I gave you the chance, but you’re useless!!"
"You... that’s enough."
Homelander’s face turned beet red.
Lucas had no intention of letting Homelander off the hook. "I’ll be honest with you, even that foot-sucking boy looks stronger than you. You’re just pathetic!"
"At least he doesn’t have mental issues. You’ve lived for decades, you... you’re just a candle!!"
"If someone scolds you today, you’ll burn them to a crisp. If someone posts a meme of you online tomorrow, are you going to sentence them to prison too??"
"Huh? Speak! Are you mute? Looking at my eyes!!"
The more Lucas spoke, the angrier he got. Looking at Homelander’s face, an inexplicable fire surged up.
"Sigh, I really want to kick you!"
As he said this, he made a gesture as if to lift his leg.
Homelander was scared and took two steps back.
"Seriously, John, you f*cking act like you have Down syndrome!" (Purely roasting Homelander, no intention to insult Down syndrome.)
Lucas imitated an "aba aba" expression, causing Homelander’s face to turn red with repressed anger.
