Chapter 529 - 320: In the Stone Stele 2
"What are you still standing around for? I can’t stand you indecisive types. If you’re going to attack, then get on with it! If you don’t, I will."
The Demon Fiend was already acting incredibly impatient, constantly urging Yang An.
But the more it acted this way, the more Yang An suspected there was a trap.
Looking at the creature, Yang An immediately abandoned any thought of attacking. With a flash of light, he vanished and headed in the direction the Demon Fiend had mentioned.
Watching Yang An suddenly disappear, the Demon Fiend flew into a rage, stomping its feet and furiously smashing the large tree and rocks in its hands onto the ground.
Before it could even react, Yang An had fled.
Damn it!
"A greenhorn got in! Block him!"
The Demon Fiend immediately let out a great roar. The sound spread rapidly, and in an instant, the entire Earth Demon Cliff began to tremble as countless hidden Demon Fiends revealed themselves.
At that moment, the group that had entered not far behind Yang An also sensed the uproar within Earth Demon Cliff. A large number of Demon Fiends had appeared, but none paid them any mind. Instead, they all swarmed in Yang An’s direction.
"What did he do?"
A disciple under one of the two Zombie Gods asked in confusion. The uproar within Earth Demon Cliff was immense; so many Demon Fiends rioting at once was enough to make their hearts pound with fear. This was the first time they had ever seen so many.
"A true greenhorn, indeed. You have to follow the rules of Earth Demon Cliff once you’re inside. If he keeps acting so recklessly, he’ll never make it out of here."
One of the Zombie Gods sneered, glad that Yang An hadn’t agreed to travel with them earlier.
’So many Demon Fiends... even we’re frightened just looking at them. Causing such a commotion... that guy is just asking to die.’
Normally, the Demon Fiends within Earth Demon Cliff were quite cooperative. Cultivators who came here to train rarely faced any significant risks, but this was the first time they had ever seen a situation like this.
"Don’t tell me he didn’t attack the Demon Fiends?"
the other Zombie God speculated.
"That’s the rule in Earth Demon Cliff. If he broke that taboo, I guarantee he won’t leave this place alive!"
the first Zombie God replied. As he spoke, he flicked his hand, and an iron nail shot out, piercing a Demon Fiend that had just appeared. The Demon Fiend’s flesh instantly withered, and within a few breaths, it had turned into a pile of white bones. Only then did he turn back to face his disciples.
"Remember this: the moment you see a Demon Fiend in here, you attack. Don’t hold back at all.
The more you try to kill them, the less they’ll resist.
But if you show any hesitation, you’ll just anger them and make them lose control. When that happens, you’ll be in for a world of pain."
After he finished speaking, he beckoned with his hand. A thumb-sized Meat Egg flew out from the pile of bones that had once been the Demon Fiend he just killed.
He crushed the Meat Egg, and a thick, black liquid immediately flowed out, just like ink.
The liquid evaporated into a black mist in his palm, which he then inhaled through his mouth and nose. A look of sheer pleasure spread across his face as if he were in ecstasy, on cloud nine.
The disciples behind him watched his every move.
"This stuff is called Spirit Juice. It’s a unique product found in the bodies of the Demon Fiends here in Earth Demon Cliff, and it shares the same origin as the Mana within us.
Kill the Demon Fiends here, and you can obtain their Spirit Juice.
Spirit Juice can help you raise your Cultivation Level. The only price is a short period where you can’t control your own mind, but that’s a minor issue."
Hearing his explanation, looks of sudden understanding appeared on the disciples’ faces. They all grew excited, never having imagined Earth Demon Cliff to be such a fortuitous land.
「Meanwhile.」
Yang An was rushing toward the place the first Demon Fiend had mentioned when suddenly, he heard countless sounds of movement from all around. At the same time, his senses were flooded with the auras of numerous Demon Fiends.
All kinds of bizarrely-shaped Demon Fiends suddenly burst out from his surroundings and gave chase. They were of all different Cultivation Levels.
But just like before, none of these Demon Fiends showed any intention of attacking. Instead, they just hurled all sorts of vile insults at him, trying to bait him into action as they surrounded and cornered him.
’There’s something very wrong with this place! And the mental state of these Demon Fiends is off, too.’
This only strengthened Yang An’s resolve not to attack. His suspicion that there was more to this place than met the eye grew, and he couldn’t help but pick up his pace, pushing his Light and Shadow Escape Technique to its limit.
Soon, pursued by an overwhelming horde of Demon Fiends, Yang An found he had unknowingly ventured deep into the heart of Earth Demon Cliff.
Although the number of Demon Fiends here was terrifyingly large, none could match Yang An’s speed. For the time being, they were unable to catch up to him.
A giant, scaly wolf with dozens of large heads suddenly burst from the ground, appearing right in Yang An’s path. It seemed to be waiting expectantly for him to crash into it—or better yet, pass right through its body.
But Yang An’s reflexes were inhuman. The very instant the Demon Fiend appeared, he vanished from his spot. This enraged the giant wolf, which let out a great howl to the sky before resuming its chase.
Yang An had lost count of how many times he’d encountered such situations along the way; it had become a familiar routine.
The more forward these Demon Fiends were, the more cautious he became, determined not to even touch a single one of them.
After constantly dodging the hordes of ambushing Demon Fiends, Yang An finally arrived at the area within Earth Demon Cliff where the mist was thickest.
