The Economics of Prophecy

Two Stories: Middle Alchemist

"I'm Ricardo Vinder. She is Meer. He's from the Vinder Chamber of Commerce in the Food Guild."

"There's enough to make a fool of a merchant for alchemy, for how much it's the third building."

In the room at the further end of the little third building, we named ourselves again. Sounds like an alchemist apprenticeship workshop called Noel. I guess even apprenticeships should say it's amazing to have a workshop. It feels like a little safe house, and this much better has the vibe and I like it.

There are compasses, rules, and leaning tables in the room. It's like a drawing room. I'm only angry at the analogy of a blacksmith and have little tools or fire.

The lord of the room is turning away. By the way, as soon as Fulsey left, she wore a hood, so I'm not sure about the look on her face. You're a little intimate about blocking communication with that.

"That attitude is not good for us, the proxy of the Great Sage"

"Become, no matter how many sage words you have, keep the civilians out of tune"

Relying on Meer is the same.

"I call you civilian about us, but you won't be noble either. There was no crest at the entrance."

Noel seemed to regret Meer's words. Unlike me, it's the boulders that make sure that's what's right in the vicious atmosphere.

"Wow, I'm from the right..."

"The Juarzens, the old Viscounts in the West."

I guessed the boulder, too. To say the West was probably involved in the Felbach mess. Is it because Meer is tough?

"If you're going to rebuild your house with magic like a curator, you should listen to your senior."

"... I'm not thinking about rebuilding the house. I just respect Master Fulsey, who grew up as a magician, even without a shield behind his house."

Well, Fulsey was also a so-called makeover, from four men in the Baron's family to court magicians. By this world standard, though.

"Uh, don't get me wrong, but we respect the curator, too. Even if it looks plain, observation accuracy is fundamental to everything, so once it's improved, I'll contribute to all the technologies on top."

From what I've heard, they don't think they can talk to us anyway. Especially since my witchcraft skills are low. Speaking of which, the Imperial guys said that in that lookout room.

That's why I told him that I understood the standards of the world. Noel finally looked at me.

"... good. It's a waste of my time. Ask him up. We're talking dirty money, anyway."

It's surreal to be denied money by an alchemist, but not if a magician hits the original world scientist. Fulsey isn't the only one who's floating away.

"Senior's time is better than yours..."

"Of course."

When I rushed to control Meer, I took the wrap out of my nostalgia. An object spilled from the bag rolled corny over the table.

What I put on the table is a sphere of metal about the size of a beeball, in the original world. By the way, I got it from Senior Plura. It is a product of the Chamber of Commerce that deals with special metalworking products such as confectionery moulds. It only looks like a complete sphere to me, but when I look at the orbit I draw on the table, it is slightly distorted. And the size is subtly different.

"I want to make a lot of metal spheres and grains that are completely in place. Alchemy, I don't know if I can handle it."

I came here for a reason.

"If you don't think you have the qualities, you're also retarded. That's impossible."

Noel looked at me with a clear face. I held Meer back. I expected to go in from denial first. That includes gathering information.

"I want to hear how it's impossible"

"First of all, you have no idea how expensive alchemy materials are. He said he would make balls that could be anywhere like that with Orecalcos, a magic guide gold. And massively. This is ridiculous. Making nails out of gold......, yeah, that's more than that. That's what you need from a blacksmith in town."

"It was this result that I asked the blacksmith to do. I have such precision that I don't get squeaky. It was made with a tremendous amount of accuracy with the Third Knight Commander's sword and armor that I saw before. It's made of magic gold."

"You have the sword of the hero, His Highness Craig."

"Seniors are accompanying the recent dragon crusade"

"Making or maintaining Knights gear is the work of an alchemist in a magic dorm, isn't it? Can you give me some more details?"

When I said that, Noel laughed invincibly at the surprise.

"... good. I'm sorry to kick you out without knowing how stupid you said it. Don't let Master Fulsey be ashamed of you for touching strange things. I'll tell you from the basics. But you wouldn't even understand the basics of that."

Noel put a silver cube on his desk. Is it about 2 cm square in size?

"This is the magic gold. We call this a unit."

"I knew it was pretty heavy"

Looks like there's at least about as much specific gravity as lead.

"Don't touch it on your own, it rots when a human being without qualities touches it"

"You're so vulnerable to corrosion, that's troublesome"

"......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Five gold coins in this one grain. Of course, this is only a price as a budget entry, and no matter how much money you have, you can't buy it. Because it's the management of the kingdom. Besides..."

"I rely on imports from the Empire"

"I know you do. It's not even enough. Because even we can't use it satisfactorily. So Maintenance is the Lord rather than making new ones too. The guys in the first building are more...... That's a good thing."

The story was famous that pepper would be exchanged for the same weight of gold in the original world. Over here, honey was like that a while back. That's more than double the weight ratio. But what I want to make is more or less one brick. If you can reuse the part that was removed from the inside......

I started spending about 80 gold coins on materials. One piece of gold is 100,000 yen, so if it's Japan, it's 8 million yen. That's cheap, considering the value of what you make.

Even in the original world, that was pretty expensive. Above all, as far as I can tell right now, isn't it best for my purpose to say magic gold? After that, it costs processing.

"That's not all."

"You just said it backwards. This means that the magic gold can never be processed in a normal way. That's where the alchemy is."

I finally figured it out. There are only a very small number of humans who are also high in materials and can be processed. It has a limited use.

"You have a decent head. Yes. Regular metal gets softer if you add heat. But the magic money is completely unaffected."

"Isn't that wonderful?"

"Stupid. You have to shed a lot of magic to process the magic gold. The Demon Crystal is rare. Especially..."

"Imports from the Empire are being squeezed, even rarer now, and if the Empire's hopes pass, next year's supply will be no more than 80% this year"

Meer supplemented. Exactly, but I can hold out for the past year.

"Oh, I don't know that kind of detail either. How do you know about the Demonic Crystal Deal managed by the Royal Palace? I'm a merchant with that hand."

"No, our main product is honey"

"Honey..."

Noel's throat rang.

"No, then how do you know that?"

"Well, because one of our investors is Grand Duke Bertoldo. As for the Demon Crystal, there's a little room this year because of the last and last Warcraft crusade we picked."

"Grand Duke of the West funded!

Noel became frightened by the name of the Grand Duke in the west. But I shook my head with a boom.

"No, no, it's inefficient if it's a little demon crystal about the size of a demon wolf. That's why demonic crystals are worth ten times as much every time they're doubled in size. It's a big loss when you use it as a joint-stick."

"So, for example, how long would it take to process this size of magic gold?"

I made a brick with both hands to show it.

"You know, you're determined to depend on the shape you make. What you're saying is insane in that sense. How much more magic do you think a ball needs instead of a straight line?"

Noel has no taste for it. As always, I'm totally deciding this one is ignorant. There's no mistake in that decision. But......
