The Economics of Prophecy

9 Stories: First Half Logistics

In front of the castle gate of Bertoldo, there were more than forty carriages lined up. In the center of the front row is the Warcraft Knights carriage. Bertoldo's Knights carriage consolidates its left and right. Behind it lines the carriages of merchants who responded to the Grand Duke's call.

It is reliable that many of them are carriages improved by bearings. Every carriage is packed.

As per our policy, we rushed to Bertoldo day and night. The Knights also seemed dissatisfied with the behavior of turning their backs on their enemies and fleeing, but there is the track record and prestige of a heroic prince. As a result, we arrived in Bertoldo the next night.

Preparations were under way because we had already communicated the operation with the early horses, but we still don't have time for the mobile Slug to arrive. It was really critical that I was ready.

The trump card of the operation now, the massive amount of Imperial timber stored in the workshop, is loaded into the carriage of the Knights Against Demons.

Now, Bogan and the young people at the workshop are handing out lubricants and so on to make sure it's complete.

Nevertheless, this is often all that remains. They retained merchants at Teco for future commercial favors and priority offers for the next carriage. Are you saying that the results of their carriage improvements have shown strength?

"Are you the Vinder Chamber of Commerce?"

"Yes, Mr. Giverney Chamber of Commerce, isn't it? Thank you for your cooperation."

I was called out by a man walking this way from a group of private carriages. Half the carriage in the back row belongs to this man's merchant squad. It seems the Gold Chamber of Commerce specializes in transport.

"Kenwell and Dalgan are good at it. Plus, I made sure the interesting stuff you showed me at the fair was actually working. Until I actually saw it, I was half-hearted."

"Bertoldo will develop more in the future."

He is a key person for the strengthening of transport capacity throughout the country and for the industrialization of Bertoldo.

"Wow. It's like you're ruling it out. But don't want me to believe that when I see the trail of the Emerging Silver Chamber of Commerce skipping instruction to the Knights of Demons under heaven."

The man looked at me in a meaningful way.

"... because the main point of this crusade against the Warcraft is the transport" Logistics ""

"I see. In that sense, this is a decent job. You said you'd carry the baggage you were asked to put in place. There are expectations that in the future there will be more opportunities to carry non-food products from Bertoldo."

said the man. I see. Are you thinking about a future deal? Well, the transport of honey will soon be out of our control.

"Whatever. I think I can tell the Chancellor a good souvenir story."

"... Huh?

I tried to hear what the man's crush meant, but the big guy in the transport guild was already on his way to his carriage.

"There's no need to wander around. The concubine stays in this city until the end."

Above the castle gate, Euphilia is calling on the city's inhabitants. Of course, plans for evacuation are underway in case of failure, but trust in the man in command is paramount if it is to take place even in order.

There is little rush for the inhabitants to hear the Lord's words. Of course, there will be trust in the heroic prince and his knights who have left the Warcraft twice......

"Big deal."

If you think about it, Bertoldo's industrial urbanization is going on so much that the Grand Duke has a proven track record so far. It's just like Dad's credit went to him when he started the honey business.

"I've loaded what you asked for. Is this good?"

Dolph came running towards me. He put the contents from the bag in the palm of his hand. Finely shredded wood scraps. The increase in surface area makes it easier to dissipate the temper that wood is accumulating.

"Thank you"

"Later, as I was told, I took samples from every piece of wood. Just give it to the wise man."

"It helps. Prioritize your evacuation preparations later."

"Is it so easy to get away with abandoning your castle?"

"No, no, so..."

"I know, man. You're saying our arms are more irreplaceable."

Dolph made a force kobu and laughed. I guess you really know. Well, do we strive to make the evacuation plan itself useless?

◇ ◇

A carriage of Knights Against Demons lines up in the middle of the flat. The massive amount of Marutai peeking from the two cars is like getting ready for a campfire. The original world would have set the grilled meat.

How good would it be if it were such a relaxing story?

The knights are working on civil engineering around the carriage. The task of beating the pile to the ground and pulling it out, like torture, is progressing.

Sow the scraps of wood that Dolph had me sharpen into the hole so as to create a triangle in the north-south direction of the carriage.

"... a reconnaissance team affixed to the two Warcraft reported that the Warcraft's path was headed this way"

"Thank you. It's about time you found out the exact position on the radar."

I answered Hyde, who gave me the scout team's report.

"The Warcraft is getting too early to catch up on carriages anymore. By the time I get here, even horseback riding might let me go. Will you be ready in time?"

Hyde looked around the carriage. A number of pots are available.

"If you do something very strange and they avoid you, why don't you?"

I don't think Warcraft would say "oily stuff is a bit" like a woman on a diet, but I want to avoid the uncertainty element. Seasoning is a battle with minimal natural flavor.

I'll join the Meers working in the radar carriage.

"We've captured the demonic crystal response that we had the scouts carry."

"The Warcraft orbit is pretty much calculated."

A little relieved by Meer's words.

But I can't be alarmed. Anyway, they're alive. Besides, it comes not to the roads, but to the earth of the depths. We have to have a proper frontal collision.

"Numerical correction, the Northern Warcraft is a little early." "I'll fix the calculation."

Meer runs a pen on Noel's voice.

"Let the woodwork move a little southwest"

I said. Hyde sends a signal to the Knights carriage. The carriage moved about ten meters south.

"Here they come -!!

The knights raised their voices. Some look north, some look south. Soil smoke rose almost simultaneously from north to south from the horizon.

............... that's different than what I saw three days ago.

There are two missiles spinning around Kirimi. They're coming all the way to pinch us. I feel fear. But that's what I expected.

"Better yet, both clockwise."

I pushed my fears to death to confirm. It's the same as a creature that just goes blind to purpose, no matter how horrible it may be. Can intelligent people be frightened?

Gogogogogogoo.

The ground trembles. My legs show amplified motion. Even if you have intelligence, humans are animals, so you respond to fear with the highest priority.

"The adjustment is over. Split up into two teams and open the way."

The knights who carried the wood out of the carriage split between East and West at Craig's direction. All that's left is a campfire woodwork. All we have to do later is pray that the fine tuning by the wood scraps planted in the holes drilled in the meadow will work.

I can clearly see what the Warcraft looks like. From near the front, the red light wrapping around the vortex creeps. The last knights left around the campfire place pots around them and walk away.

"Prepare the arrows."

A magnificent Craig voice echoes the plain. The knights set up cloth-wrapped arrows.

I rushed to the radar carriage, too. At that time, the wind strokes his cheek.

"The wind direction is one way or the other, and the southeast brings good luck."
