Chapter 434: Overwhelming Superiority
The monster did not waste its time roaring meaninglessly. Instead, it proudly displayed itself.
"Not bad, right? My master’s brilliant creation! I can bring people the ultimate form of pleasure!"
"Your master is Chaos?"
Chaos was one of the Five Calamities. It was said that they had destroyed the magical civilization. However, the intelligent Divine Chosen of Chaos had sealed themselves inside forbidden books rather than allowing themselves to perish from hunger.
Phield’s heart suddenly skipped a beat, and he nearly jumped for joy.
The fragment of the Book of Wisdom and Appraisal he had been searching for was in the hands of a Divine Chosen of Chaos. He finally had a lead.
Because Chaos possessed the ability to block all forms of perception, finding a Divine Chosen of Chaos was entirely a matter of luck.
"That’s right! And now I’m going to share this joy with you!"
The Fallen Creature looked incredibly excited.
Phield was sweating profusely as he held out both hands.
"No thanks. With you looking like that, I really can’t bring myself to attack."
The monster had all kinds of bizarre organs growing from its body. It was practically the ultimate biological nightmare. In a twisted monster game, it would at least be a boss.
"Hahahaha! It’s not up to you. Fall into corruption!"
Divine power surged violently throughout the Fallen Creature’s body, unexpectedly reaching the peak of the third tier.
Ripples of divine power spread outward like waves. Even with the naked eye, one could see waves of black energy sweeping across the surroundings and causing the plants to sway violently.
Fortunately, the previous Aegis-Spear of Frostpierce had inflicted massive injuries upon it. Numerous wounds covered the monster’s body, preventing it from fighting at full strength.
"Ashina, fight without worrying about me. When dealing with creatures like this, focus on steady and methodical combat. Never become impatient or rush forward recklessly. Don’t let external distractions affect you, and above all, don’t let yourself get controlled."
Phield had never actually fought a Fallen Creature before, but that did not stop him from possessing an enormous amount of experience from his previous life.
He knew that when fighting a Fallen Creature, one had to keep a clear head.
"Based on my experience, monsters like this usually aren’t overwhelmingly powerful in direct combat. What they excel at is driving their opponents mentally unstable. You have to stay calm."
With that, Phield quickly retreated, making sure the Fallen Creature could not grab him and use him as leverage against Ashina.
"Leave it to me!"
Ashina waved her hand, and the enormous Drakewolf appeared.
"Black Wolf, charge!"
Ashina leaped onto the Drakewolf and launched her attack without hesitation.
Its claws slammed into the ground, instantly cracking the earth beneath them. The black wolf shot forward at incredible speed, becoming little more than a blur.
The Fallen Creature could only see a black streak flash toward it at terrifying speed.
"Such speed!"
Before it could even react, the Fallen Creature was struck head-on and sent flying. The beautiful face emerging from the worm-like mouth was pierced by Ashina’s spear.
"But it’s useless!"
Before the monster even landed, it perfectly adjusted its body and beat its wings, slicing through the sky. Amid the sharp sound of rushing air, countless tentacles surged toward Ashina.
"Hahahaha! Just looking at these things would be enough to make most people lose their composure!"
The Fallen Creature looked excited as it released a large cloud of pink smoke.
"Third-tier divine skill, Crimson Desire Mist!"
For someone with an exceptionally pure mind, merely seeing the strange creature could be enough to cause severe mental distress.
Even if the initial impact failed to shake their composure, prolonged exposure to the red mist would gradually impose the status of "Desire." The longer one remained exposed, the harder it became to maintain rational thought.
"Boring."
Ashina coldly snorted and calmly focused her mind.
Silver light flashed rapidly from the spear in her hands, as dense as a sudden rainstorm. Countless spear flashes bloomed through the air, instantly tearing apart the incoming tentacles.
"Black Wolf, Tyrant Iceflame!"
The Drakewolf’s ghostly blue flames instantly covered half the sky, resembling a magnificent blue fire cloud.
"Not finished yet. Have a taste of lightning!"
The Fallen Creature let out a strange laugh. The woman’s head emerged from the monster’s mouth as it cackled.
"Become a vessel for my creation. Third-tier divine skill, Lightning Worm!"
Countless tentacles erupted from beneath the ground, densely packed enough to make one’s scalp crawl. Even more terrifyingly, arcs of electricity crackled across them.
"Aegis-Spear of Frostpierce, cut them down!"
With a thought from Ashina, the six stored Spears of Frostpierce behind her shot forward like flying swords. They circled around her and shredded every incoming tentacle to pieces.
From beginning to end, Ashina’s expression never changed.
"Huh?"
The Fallen Creature was genuinely confused. Its distorted female voice cried out,
"Why aren’t you even panicking?"
"My lord was right. Your divine power may be immense, but your actual combat ability is nowhere near enough!"
Ashina’s eyes were filled with bloodlust.
"Die!"
Once the battle became serious, Ashina felt that the pressure exerted by this opponent was not even half as strong as what Rosalia could bring.
The Drakewolf spat out a barrage of fireballs and ice orbs, forcing the Fallen Creature out of the sky and back toward the ground.
Ashina then drove the giant wolf forward at tremendous speed.
"Since an ordinary charge can’t kill you, then let’s combine the components into one. Heavy Cavalry Siege Lance!"
The six Spears of Frostpierce flying around them rapidly merged with Ashina’s divine artifact spear, transforming into an enormous rhombus-shaped siege lance surrounded by overwhelming divine power.
With the Drakewolf’s astonishing momentum behind it, the massive spearhead drove straight into the monster.
Blood and flesh scattered through the air, while a tremendous cloud of blood nearly dyed the entire battlefield red.
"Ugh! How is this possible? Your divine power has only just reached the third tier, yet you can actually..."
The Fallen Creature was unable to believe what had happened as it spat out a mouthful of dark blood.
"It’s not over yet."
Ashina turned around.
"I left you a little present."
At the instant of impact, Ashina had already detached the components of the siege lance.
That meant all six Spears of Frostpierce were still embedded inside the monster.
"Explode!"
"It’s over."
The Fallen Creature was stunned.
"Just wait! This is only one of my souls..."
"Buzz!"
All six third-tier divine skills exploded simultaneously from within its body.
There was no need to wonder whether the Fallen Creature could withstand it.
Even Firomina and Charlotte, who were playing around at the distant camp, were knocked off their feet by the shockwave.
"Easy."
Ashina brushed away the ice fragments and smoke left behind by the explosion. She carefully searched the enormous crater surrounding the blast site and confirmed that the monster was completely dead before looking for its spoils.
Before long, she found a crystal that was brilliantly red and completely translucent.
"Excellent work."
Phield straightened his hair, which had been messed up by the explosion.
"As expected of you! You took her down cleanly and efficiently."
"You taught me well, my lord."
Ashina tried to sound modest, but the tail behind her had already started spinning like a propeller, completely betraying her excitement.
"By the way, my lord, how did you know that this kind of monster would be easy to deal with once I stayed calm? Have you fought one before?"
"Uh..."
Phield was speechless.
There was no way he could tell her that he had simply guessed based on the games he had played in his previous life. Whenever he played those kinds of games, he deliberately did reckless things and got himself killed.
Phield deliberately put on a mysterious expression.
"Stay calm against every enemy. Make that your core principle, then adapt your approach when necessary. That’s all there is to it."
"I just didn’t expect Chaos to be capable of creating something this twisted."
