The moment the domineering cavalry spear appeared, the entire area was instantly transformed into a frozen domain.

"Huh? A demi-human Divine Chosen." The witch’s eyes nearly popped out of her head. "No wonder she was able to knock away a magic projectile with her bare hands."

In the Sacred Griffin Empire, the chances of encountering a demi-human Divine Chosen were practically zero. Yet somehow, she had run into one today.

"We’re just mercenaries. Now, can we have a calm conversation? What’s that goddess mark on your forehead?"

Phield pointed at the mark on the witch’s forehead.

In his opinion, she was very likely a remnant of the Shadow World Sect. Ever since becoming enemies with the Shadow World Sect, Phield had no intention of letting those lunatics come anywhere near his territory.

"I advise you to mind your own business."

The witch did not seem overly frightened. She quickly regained her composure, and there was even a mocking smile on her lips.

"The darkness behind me is something even the sun cannot illuminate."

Phield sucked in a breath.

"That’s the first time I’ve met someone this arrogant."

"My mother is a Divine Chosen from a nearby territory, and she also has powerful people backing her."

The witch proudly raised her head, sneering continuously.

"She’s someone you cannot afford to offend. Leave this place, and I can pretend none of this ever happened."

"Trying to scare me with something so vague? Ashina, capture her."

"Yes."

Ashina thrust her spear forward with astonishing speed. The frost divine power wrapped around the weapon instantly spread throughout the entire room, leaving the witch nowhere to escape.

The witch’s pupils trembled violently. She gritted her teeth and cursed under her breath before immediately unleashing the binding spell she had been charging for some time.

"Second-tier magic, Chain Binding Curse!"

Seven or eight purple magical chains appeared out of thin air. They slithered through the air like venomous snakes before wrapping themselves around Ashina.

"Magic? How laughable."

Divine Chosen possessed extremely high magic resistance, making it difficult for ordinary spells to harm them.

Ashina did not even bother to struggle. The moment the chains wrapped around her, the frost divine power coursing around her body shattered them completely.

"What?!"

The witch was utterly dumbfounded.

A forbidden spell was an extremely rare form of magic, yet it had failed to hinder Ashina in the slightest. She had no time to escape at all.

"Buzz!"

Spear flashes danced through the air like fireflies, directly tearing the witch’s staff apart and leaving her arms badly injured. Ashina had already held back. Otherwise, the attack would have crushed her completely.

"The difference between magical power and divine power is actually this great?"

The witch’s eyes were filled with despair. Fortunately, the frost divine power had numbed her wounds. Otherwise, the pain alone would have been enough to make her lose consciousness.

Without her arms, the witch could not even run. She staggered forward two steps, unable to keep her balance, before collapsing to the ground.

"Still feeling arrogant?"

Phield strode forward and planted one foot on the helpless witch, folding his arms across his chest.

"Tell me. Whose subordinate are you? Why did you come to Bull’s territory?"

The witch completely ignored Phield and instead let out a desperate scream.

"Lord Desire! Save me!"

"You can scream all you want. No one can hear you down here."

Phield laughed and raised his hand, preparing to slap her twice.

"Watch out!"

Ashina’s heart suddenly skipped a beat, and every alarm bell in her mind went off at once. Without hesitation, she grabbed Phield and pulled him backward.

A black shadow slowly emerged from the void, appearing without the slightest warning.

"Lord Desire!"

The witch looked as though she had suddenly seen her own savior. She was instantly overjoyed.

"They discovered our trading ground and ruined your plans. Please, save me!"

Phield frowned.

"Desire?"

"Hehehe. I will avenge you. Anyone who harms my interests must die, no matter how insignificant the damage may be."

With those words, the goddess mark on the witch’s body suddenly ignited.

The black shadow burrowed into the witch’s abdomen, and dark goddess patterns reappeared across her lower abdomen.

"Huh? M, my lord, what are you doing?"

The witch was terrified beyond words.

The next moment, her abdomen began swelling rapidly, as though it were being inflated like a balloon. Veins bulged beneath her skin, while the distorted outline of a grotesque infant face seemed to move beneath the surface.

The witch cried out in agony as the strange transformation continued.

"Ugh... I’m going to die. I’m going to die."

The witch was in extreme pain.

"My mother is Florine! You can’t kill me! My mother will never forgive you!"

"Hehehehe. Florine has hundreds of children. They are nothing more than expendable vessels. Who do you think you are? Being chosen as my vessel is an honor."

The eerie voice of an infant came from within her.

"Florine. So it really is her. That woman must be involved in something unspeakable behind the scenes."

Florine was the Divine Chosen of Baron Simon of Maple Leaf Territory.

Phield immediately gave an order.

"Ashina, attack before it is born, then leave the cellar immediately. Fighting underground is too restrictive."

With that, Phield quickly climbed the stairs and left the cellar, preventing Ashina from being distracted by having to protect him.

"Third-tier divine skill, Aegis-Spear of Frostpierce!"

Ashina spread out her palm, and a slender spear began spinning rapidly.

The divine power in the surrounding area surged toward her like a flood, pouring into the divine skill. The piercing spear grew larger and larger as it spun. In moments, it had become like a rotating blade, already beginning to tear through the walls of the cellar.

"Go!"

Ashina aimed at the transforming witch and hurled the Aegis-Spear of Frostpierce forward with tremendous force. Without even looking at the result, she immediately rushed out of the cellar.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

The earth trembled violently.

Everything inside the cellar was engulfed, torn apart, and annihilated by the explosive force of the Aegis-Spear of Frostpierce.

"So this is the power of a third-tier Divine Chosen?"

The infant inside the witch’s abdomen had not yet emerged, but it could still sense everything happening outside.

"The rumors about demi-humans possessing extraordinary combat power are true. A divine skill with this kind of power is far beyond what an ordinary Divine Chosen of the same tier should possess."

"We can’t transmit any more power. If we don’t defend ourselves, we’ll die."

The cellar collapsed, bringing the ruined building above it down with it.

"My lord, be careful. She’s still alive."

After sensing the area for a moment, Ashina immediately realized that the opponent had survived.

"Her strength is impossible to determine. Someone capable of transmitting power right in front of us must be formidable."

After thinking for a moment, Phield decisively chose to avoid the battle.

"The enemy’s true body hasn’t come here personally. Killing this vessel won’t benefit us anyway. We’re leaving."

Even if something went wrong, it was Bull’s territory that would suffer. What did that have to do with him?

"Leaving? You’re not going anywhere!"

The ground trembled violently.

A three-meter-tall flying monster suddenly burst out from beneath the earth.

It had four legs and two wings, but where its head should have been was a sinister worm-like creature. A woman’s head protruded from the worm’s mouth, surrounded by countless long tentacles.

The witch’s upper body had become part of the monster’s tail, and she continued screaming in terror.

After being struck by the Aegis-Spear of Frostpierce, the monster was covered in frost, and half of one of its wings had been destroyed.

"What the hell is that?"

Phield was completely stunned.

He often read books on monster identification, but he had never seen anything like this.

It looked somewhat similar to a corrupted creature. The biggest difference was that corrupted creatures were covered in offensive organs, while this thing was covered in bizarre and twisted organs of all kinds.

"One of the perfect creations of Chaos. A Fallen Creature."
