Selena raised her head quickly; with just a few seconds to go before the sword fell upon her neck, she clenched her fists tightly.

"Wait!" she shouted loudly, shaking the entire execution ground so violently that the wind, which had been blowing cold, now came to a halt.

All eyes were on her as she gazed at her beast husbands, who sat calmly before her.

"What do you wish to say? Just say it now; do not prolong your death!" said one of the members of the Eldoria Beast World Court, irritated.

Selena’s eyes shone with a sharp golden light as she looked at her husbands there, then smiled coldly.

"Don’t kill me just yet if you don’t want them all to die!" Selena exclaimed coldly; her face, which had always seemed weak and helpless, now gazed at them with a surprising air of calculation.

"What else does she want to do? Now that she’s weak and useless, does she want to play cat and mouse with us?" said Dorven Stongz with a lazy look.

"Didn’t you used to spoil her? This time she wants it again," replied Vylen Roxy, wagging her tail to suppress her irritation.

"That woman’s just a waste of time. Why did you agree to let her go when she asked to stop?" snapped Stoner Grey, his fangs protruding from his mouth as his powerful hands slowly extended their claws. "Don’t make me go over there and tear her body to pieces."

"Oh, really? I didn’t think you’d be able to do it," Selena retorted, causing Stoner’s grey eyes to darken.

Selena gave a small smile, clenching her fists tightly as she realised that those standing before her were not humans but wild beasts—and her infuriating husbands.

"You... how dare you say that to me?!" snapped Stoner Grey, but Selena merely smiled even more coldly. "A woman like you, who’s about to die, do you want to show a little courage before losing your head? Your ramblings are utterly pointless!"

"Oh really?" Selena chuckled softly, staring at him as his brow immediately furrowed.

It wasn’t just Stoner Grey; her other husbands were also taken aback to see her laughing as if she were looking down on them.

"Is this woman going mad?" muttered Jhon Nix, his cold face betraying his displeasure.

"It’s possible; perhaps she really is a madwoman who fancies herself a Healer of Extinction! Bloody hell, we’ve been had," said Stevan Drakon, narrowing his eyes in annoyance.

"Just kill her—the look in her eyes is mocking us," said Stoner Grey, his face looking even more fierce.

But to Selena, that fierce expression actually seemed to soften and look rather endearing. Her newfound power allowed her to see another side to these beast husbands of hers.

They only appeared strong and fierce on the outside; in Selena’s eyes, their problems began to surface and looked truly pitiful.

On several occasions, she could even see them transforming into strange figures. Her gaze could reveal the other side and the unstable forms of her beast husbands, who were currently acting arrogantly.

The executioner raised his long sword once more as Selena pointed at her Lion husband, who looked annoyed.

"Believe it or not, I know your biggest secret," said Selena, causing Dorven Stongz—who had just chimed in—to stare in shock.

But then, he laughed cynically. "What do you know about me, you weak woman? How much longer do you intend to stall? Stop being ridiculous and just accept your death!" he snapped angrily.

"Oh really? Ridiculous?" Selena smiled faintly. "Well then, listen to me. What if I told you that you’ve been struggling to maintain your demeanour and behaviour of late, because all your emotions will vanish in three months’ time?" she said, causing Dorven Stongz to widen his eyes in shock; his body tensed, and even the veins in his neck stood out.

"What?" he asked, as if he were deaf.

Selena gave a small smile. "You know full well whether what you’re saying is true or not," she replied, then looked towards Stevan, who was standing next to Dorven.

"If you use the Dragon Core seven more times... your body will turn to stone forever," Selena said after observing him for a few seconds, causing Stevan Drakon to stare at her immediately. "And when you turn to stone, you’ll be forgotten by all your followers and regarded as a disgrace by your own people. Your kingdom will crumble; you’ll be nothing but a failure in their eyes."

Stevan Drakon’s eyes widened in shock; his reaction was even more pronounced than that of Dorven Stongz, who remained frozen in place.

Selena turned her gaze towards Vylen Roxy, who had been acting all high and mighty and making the most noise all along. As Selena’s cold stare fell upon his, Vylen immediately swallowed hard and grew slightly panicked.

"You never trust anyone, you suspect everyone, you’re cruel and uncaring... That’s because your own father poisoned you when you were a child, isn’t it?" she said, causing the man to jump to his feet.

Selena smiled slightly at Vylen’s panic. It was a secret from the past that the Fox King had always kept tightly under wraps!

How could anyone possibly know about it, let alone someone he considered a jinx, a sinner and a fraud!

"You—"

"It’s not just that," Selena said again, staring at him; he was so tense that Vylen’s eyes were bulging without him realising it.

His tail had also gone limp; it no longer looked as fierce as it had when he had condemned Selena and demanded that the executioner behead her at once.

"For decades, that poison has remained and is still quite active near your heart. Just imagine—I’m the only one who knows when you’ll die... if I die here, you’ll soon follow me to keep me company in hell," said Selena, then gave a small laugh; she seemed to be joking, but her expression was serious.

Besides, Vylen knew full well that what Selena had said was true. All this time, not even his own personal bodyguard had known—how could this deceitful woman possibly know?

"You’ll just have to find out for yourself how to heal yourself if I die, but as far as I can see, there’s no other way," said Selena, then glanced at her Phoenix husband, who was quietly clutching the arm of his chair.

Jhon Nix’s haughty face looked slightly stiff as Selena gave a little laugh upon seeing him.

"You’re the most arrogant, yet you’re the one on the brink of death," she said, making Jhon grow even stiffer. "The fire of the curse within your body burns your heart relentlessly every midnight. It’s excruciatingly painful, isn’t it? You’ve been searching for an antidote but have never found it—how truly pitiful," Selena taunted, causing Jhon’s body to tremble slightly.

Selena looked at her four beast husbands, who were no longer able to maintain their haughty and arrogant demeanours, then smiled slightly before turning her gaze to Stoner Grey, who had been quietly fidgeting all along.

"You’re the one most eager to kill me—and you’re just as pitiful," said Selena, causing Stoner to swallow roughly.

His fangs shrivelled, whilst the claws on his hands began to fade.

"Every full moon, your memories will be further eroded because you’re cursed by the Moon Goddess. By now, you’ve already started to forget your mother’s face, haven’t you?" asked Selena, or rather, stating the obvious.

Stoner’s eyes widened in shock, his expression one of utter astonishment.

"You all only look impressive on the outside, whilst on the inside you’re shattered and deeply wounded. Do you still wish to act arrogant in my presence?" said Selena, causing her beast husbands to tense up before rising simultaneously.

"How could you possibly know our secret?!" they asked in unison, their faces stiff as if they had just confirmed the words or claims of this woman whom they regarded as a bringer of bad luck, a sinner and a fraud!

Selena gave a small smile, then the light emanating from her chest grew brighter and brighter, blinding their eyes! Her beast husbands even turned their faces away, unable to bear the glare of her dazzling light.

"I am Selena Grece... the one destined to be the Healer of Extinction!"
