Chapter 2689: These Three Rascals Are Really Stirring Things Up!
"They should have left by now. We’ve searched so extensively and still haven’t found them..."
Rulbert, the leader of the Black Stone Tribe, was a rugged and strong man who stood with his hands on his hips, looking down at the mountains.
Vaelor Boyd was unwilling to give up, but the entire team had swept through the area like a net several times and still couldn’t find those three from the Illusory Snake Sect. They must have either slipped away or hid when things didn’t look right.
"Let’s stop searching and move to the next area."
Rulbert nodded. "Let’s head to the northeast and join up with the White Fox Tribe people. The sooner we join forces, the more people we have, the greater the advantage."
"Alright!"
Rulbert gathered all the team members, spaced them apart at intervals, and used their Divine Sense as a net to move toward the northeast.
Once caught in this net, the target would face the full pursuit of a twenty-person team.
They hadn’t walked far when suddenly a voice, like thunder from the Nine Heavens, was heard from afar!
"Target spotted!"
Rulbert’s eyes shone brightly, and he laughed heartily, "We’ve caught a fish! Let’s go check it out!"
Rulbert and Vaelor Boyd transformed into two long rainbows, instantly cutting through the sky, heading toward the voice.
The two moved very quickly, soon catching up, and saw a figure ahead, sprinting at full speed.
Rulbert laughed heartily, "Running into a loner, it’s a free catch!"
Vaelor Boyd’s gaze fell on the back silhouette, suddenly finding it familiar, and he looked intently, becoming excited.
"It’s that kid from the Illusory Snake Sect!"
Vaelor Boyd’s fighting spirit surged, he increased speed, and then suddenly remembered something, quickly reminded, "There were three of them before, but now there’s just one. Maybe it’s a trap; be careful not to get caught in a formation they set up!"
Rulbert laughed, "With so many of us, even if there’s a trap, it spells his demise!"
While saying this, Rulbert slowed his speed by two measures, not rushing to shorten the distance, maintaining his pace, trailing Carson Flores from afar, waiting for others to catch up.
Soon, the other team members caught up, a large group skimmed over the skyline like hunting eagles.
Carson Flores glanced back at the crowd chasing him, secretly pleased, continuing to flee frantically as if running for his life.
Rulbert and his group kept their distance from Carson Flores, pursuing him over a considerable distance, and Rulbert grew impatient.
If he had indeed set a trap, it wouldn’t be located so far away. At such a distance, if it’s an inducement, if they chased at full speed, he would be intercepted before reaching the trap’s location.
"Advance at full speed, don’t let him get away!"
Vaelor Boyd’s thoughts mirrored Rulbert’s at this instant, he too felt there probably wasn’t a trap, considering the substantial distance they had covered.
Would someone attempt to lure enemies alone, not fearing putting himself at risk?
It seems there was trouble on their side; three people, two dead, leaving only this one.
Vaelor Boyd was filled with anger toward Carson Flores. Seeing him flee like a dog without a home, an exhilarating sensation welled up inside him.
Run!
Let’s see where you run today!
You better not lose your tags; if I catch you, you’re dead!
Rulbert closed in, Carson Flores took a sharp turn, directly entering the mountain range, using the towering peaks to hide his form, appearing ready to take the opportunity to escape.
Rulbert and Vaelor Boyd charged straight into the mountains, only to find Carson Flores’s trail vanished.
Rulbert expanded his Divine Sense and sneered, "He hasn’t gone far; he’s hiding around here!"
Vaelor Boyd nodded, "He’s a Fire Path Practitioner, can’t escape by Earth Escape, definitely hiding nearby!"
Meanwhile, other team members who lagged slightly arrived in droves, all hovering in the air.
Rulbert commanded sternly, "Spread out and find him, dig him out!"
As Rulbert and others searched for Carson Flores, the Barbarian Tribe members on the plains were nearly frenzied.
"Rulbert, you idiot! Get out of there fast!"
"The Black Stone Tribe squad is probably finished!"
"That guy actually teamed up with others to set a trap, making Vaelor Boyd fall into the trap again. This will cost the Barbarian Tribe dearly!"
Contrasting this, the Demon Race was filled with excitement and anticipation.
"That kid has nerve, targeting a twenty-person squad!"
"The key is he succeeded; these people walked right into his trap, practically halfway across the Ghost Gate threshold."
"The Eight Desolation Fire Spirit Formation and fifteen-six people sealing the perimeter—this Barbarian squad is likely done for. The Black Stone Tribe must be pained to the core!"
"Those three youngsters from the Illusory Snake Sect really know how to stir things up. I have a hunch this year’s winners should be us, with the biggest factor being these three..."
Amidst the lively discussions, a sudden blaze erupted on the projection screen, the scene was intimidating.
The audience was filled with exclamations, a mix of concern and excitement.
The formation was activated!
