Chapter 2703: Who Else but Me Would Court Death?
Everyone fell silent for a moment, even Balther Weiss furrowed his brows.
Everyone who joined the Blood‑Kill Situation was of course gambling with their lives, but no matter how you fought, at least you still had the option of abandoning your tags to save yourself; if you were careful, chances were you could stay alive.
But the plan Eolan Lorcan proposed—setting aside whether it would succeed or not—the people carrying it out were basically doomed.
Cultivators go against the heavens, finally managing to cultivate to where they are now. Even if it’s for the Demon Race’s interests, when it comes to sending yourself to die, who would be willing?
If you can live, who wants to die?
Eolan Lorcan spread his hands. "I know this plan is cruel, filled with too much danger and uncertainty, but if I don’t bring it up, then I’m failing in my responsibility..."
Balther Weiss nodded in understanding. "Although it’s somewhat workable, it’s unfair to whoever executes it. Even if it’s for the Demon Race, as captain I have no right to decide who goes to their death. Let’s shelve this proposal for now."
Everyone remained silent, which was more or less tacit agreement with Balther Weiss’s words.
This plan—who goes, who goes, who goes?
You won’t go yourself, and you send someone else to die—how does that make sense?
Even if you brandish the banner of righteousness for the Demon Race, once you’re gone, you’re utterly, completely gone!
The atmosphere in the room suddenly grew heavy. Sitting quietly in a corner, Carson Flores hesitated for a moment, then spoke: "Lorcan, that magical treasure of yours, what’s the situation with it? Could you explain in detail—like, is triggering the explosion troublesome, or anything else about it..."
Eolan Lorcan turned to look at Carson Flores in surprise, clear doubt in his eyes.
Others only thought Carson Flores was an ordinary Disciple of the Illusory Snake Sect, but Eolan Lorcan knew perfectly well that Carson Flores was a Battle Hall Disciple of the Myriad Immortals Palace!
What was he trying to do?
Eolan Lorcan was puzzled, but he still answered honestly: "Not troublesome. As long as you continuously inject Spiritual Power, you can trigger the explosion. The whole process takes about one breath, but before the explosion, the continuous injection of Spiritual Power must not be interrupted..."
Hearing Eolan Lorcan explain it in such detail, everyone felt even more that this mission couldn’t be done.
Continuous injection of Spiritual Power that can’t be cut off—when it finally explodes, the one affected most will inevitably be the executor of the operation. Deep in the middle of the enemy’s formation, how could you possibly get out alive?
A true suicide plan!
Carson Flores’s expression remained calm. He continued to ask about the blast radius and so forth, and Eolan Lorcan answered one by one.
Everyone’s gaze toward Carson Flores grew stranger and stranger. Asking this thoroughly—was he going to volunteer himself?
Even if he did volunteer, one person wouldn’t be enough. Eolan Lorcan had said that the radius covered by one Exploding Talisman wasn’t that large; to affect the entire Barbarian Tribe’s squad, at least ten or so people would have to trigger them together.
After getting everything clear, Carson Flores turned to ask Balther Weiss, "If I manage to cover the entire Barbarian Tribe’s camp, would his merit be great or not?"
Balther Weiss’s eyes lit up; he answered without hesitation, "If you truly cover the whole Barbarian Tribe camp and affect the overwhelming majority of them, plunging them into Illusionary Realm interference, then this victory is as good as won. His contribution would unquestionably be ranked first!"
Although he didn’t understand how Carson Flores could pull it off, as captain he still gave a firm answer without hesitation.
Carson Flores nodded, then turned again to Eolan Lorcan. "If I manage it, and I give the merit to Samir Coffey, will Samir Coffey be qualified to learn the Sand Dragon Illusion God Technique?"
Eolan Lorcan nodded steadily. "Absolutely enough!"
Carson Flores nodded. "All right, I’ll take this mission. However many Exploding Talismans you have, give them all to me."
Eolan Lorcan fixed his gaze on Carson Flores. "You have a way to pull it off?"
Carson Flores grinned. "Space Traverse, penetrating into multiple points of the enemy’s formation, continuously infusing Spiritual Power to activate the magical treasures and detonate them... That’s correct, isn’t it?"
Eolan Lorcan nodded. "Yes."
Carson Flores nodded, and answered firmly, "I can do it."
Balther Weiss stared at Carson Flores. "How are you going to do it? Can you explain? This concerns the lives of over a hundred people and the interests of the Demon Race; we can’t be careless."
Carson Flores nodded in understanding and sent a voice transmission to Balther Weiss: "I possess Doppelganger Divine Ability and can perform short‑range Space Traverse. I can summon over ten Incarnations, each carrying a magical treasure, and jump into different parts of the enemy formation to detonate. If the Incarnations die, so be it—I just lose some Essence Blood; it’s no big deal."
Balther Weiss’s eyes suddenly lit up.
Doppelganger Divine Ability!
This Illusory Snake Sect Disciple named Carson Flores kept giving him huge surprises.
Judging from his exchange with Eolan Lorcan, it seemed Eolan Lorcan didn’t know him well either. This guy was hiding deep.
He didn’t want any merit for himself, but wanted to give it to a Disciple named Samir Coffey?
Balther Weiss was quite curious about this as well, but since it was internal business of the Illusory Snake Sect, it wasn’t his place to ask.
Once he confirmed the plan was executable, Balther Weiss suddenly felt full of confidence, his eyes brimming with battle intent.
"Good. We’ll carry out the operation according to this plan. If it succeeds, we’ll go all‑out and fight a proper battle. If it fails, we’ll think of another way!"
Everyone looked at the resolute, decisive Balther Weiss, all of them puzzled.
What did Carson Flores say to Balther Weiss that made him instantly believe Carson Flores could pull it off?
How could one person possibly pull it off?
