Chapter 2704: Openly Repairing the Plank Road, Secretly Crossing Chen Cang
On the barren plains, two armies confronted each other, a terrifying aura surged into the sky, dispersing the dark clouds.
For thousands of miles around, all living beings prostrated on the ground, shivering and wailing incessantly.
Balete stood before the battle lines, gazing at Balther Weiss across the way, his eyes instantly filled with fighting spirit.
"Balther Weiss, your squad won before and didn’t accept my challenge. Now that the two armies stand against each other, with the outcome unknown, do you dare to duel with me first and set the stage for the final showdown?"
Balther Weiss smiled, "You, Balete, are said to be invincible under the Prime Immortal. If I lose to you, wouldn’t that shake the army’s morale and dampen the spirit of the Demon Race?"
Balete taunted, "Aren’t you the leader of the Demon Race team? Don’t you have the courage to fight, or is the entire Demon Race so cowardly?"
Balther Weiss laughed heartily, "You’ve even resorted to provoking me, isn’t that underestimating me?"
Balete’s heart sank, and a trace of disappointment flickered in his eyes.
Bodessa had analyzed that the Demon Race’s strength was no less than the Barbarian Tribe’s. In a head-on confrontation, the Barbarians had no certainty of victory and needed to look for an opportunity elsewhere.
Balete volunteered to challenge Balther Weiss. As long as he could defeat Balther Weiss in front of both the Demon and Barbarian Races, the Barbarians would naturally gain morale while the Demons would lose theirs. The Barbarians could then seize the opportunity to strike.
Seeing that Balther Weiss was unmoved by either hard or soft tactics and wasn’t affected by his mockery, Balete was quite disappointed. Just when he thought his strategy had failed, Balther Weiss suddenly said, "But idle as I am, since you want to fight, I’ll entertain you."
Huh, he agreed?
Balete was quite surprised. Balther Weiss actually agreed?
Did he really think he could win against me?
Balete had no time for further thought, leaping into the sky and shouting, "Alright, let me measure your strength!"
Balther Weiss smiled slightly, his expression calm, "Perhaps more than you think."
Balete laughed loudly, his aura surging, his body shooting straight toward the Heavenly Dome.
"Good, you’ve got personality, come up and fight!"
Balther Weiss rose with the wind, his robes fluttering, exuding an extraordinary demeanor that captivated everyone.
Soon, the two ascended above the Heavenly Dome. Balete picked up his Battle Axe, shouting wildly, "Take my axe!"
Balete launched a furious attack at Balther Weiss, who bellowed in response, "Bring it on!"
The clouds in the sky had long been scattered by their bursting aura, and everyone could see the two above the Heavenly Dome.
Just as everyone’s gaze followed the two, anticipating the clash between these two titans, at a mountain peak behind the Demon Race’s camp, Carson Flores silently unleashed the Ethereal Pagoda.
As Balther Weiss’s shout of "Bring it on" echoed through the Nine Heavens, the Ethereal Pagoda cast down a beam of Golden Light, instantly multiplying into over a dozen of Carson Flores’s incarnations.
All the incarnations were dressed uniformly, the Magic Robe bearing no Sect insignia, and each incarnation wore an identical mask.
"Boom!"
Above the Nine Heavens, Balther Weiss and Balete collided fiercely, producing a thunderous boom.
Amidst the booming sound, each of the dozen Carson Flores incarnations held a magical treasure crafted by Eolan Lorcan, stepping forward simultaneously.
The incarnations of Carson Flores vanished silently from their original positions, and in the next moment, they appeared within the Barbarian Tribe’s ranks, evenly distributed throughout, their treasures glowing brightly.
The majority of the Barbarian warriors were focused on the sky, distracted by the terrifying collision above. When Carson Flores appeared, they felt it immediately, but however fast their response, they needed to turn and verify the target before reacting. This time was enough for Carson Flores.
Within the Barbarian Tribe, the Think Tank, Bodessa, wasn’t watching the sky because of her absolute confidence in Balete’s strength.
In a one-on-one, Balete fears no one!
He might win with difficulty, but he wouldn’t lose, so there was no need to watch!
Bodessa observed the distant Demon Race camp and, through a spell, noticed something odd.
While Balther Weiss soared into the sky, most of the Demon Race wasn’t focusing on the sky but rather on the Barbarian Tribe.
Worried about a barbarian sneak attack?
Bodessa instinctively thought so, but when Carson Flores’s incarnations suddenly appeared and their magical treasures glowed, Bodessa’s face changed abruptly, emitting a sharp warning.
"Enemy attack! Defend!"
Bodessa’s long-prepared magical treasure instantly flew out, aiming at the nearest Carson Flores.
Bodessa reacted quickly, yet found it peculiar that the opponent wasn’t dodging at all. Instead, he turned, staring at her with a strange look, allowing Bodessa’s magical treasure to hit him.
"Boom!"
"Boom boom boom!"
