Chapter 62 - 61: No Need for Such a Thick Filter

[Alright, that’s enough. Can’t you see just the vegetables are giving them a headache? I’m dying of laughter. What a pair of dumb siblings!]

[Did you see the label on the steak? I looked it up, a single piece is in the four-figures, and there are like, ten of them...]

[This meal today has to be at least six figures...]

[I’m a toxic fan. I can’t stand to see my idol eating better than me. I suggest you throw it out—for example, into my mouth.]

It had to be said, Harrison Lowell was still pretty smart. He knew to buy pre-prepared ingredients, and the grill was even delivered and installed by the vendor.

The meat only needed to be washed and plated, then it could be put directly on the grill.

However, there were also vegetables, chicken wings, and seafood that they needed to prepare and skewer themselves.

The two siblings stood there helplessly, while the cameraman and Nanny Warren covered their mouths, trying to stifle their laughter off to the side.

Harrison Lowell pointed a trembling finger at the lobster in the box. "Nanny... Nanny Warren, this thing is still moving! How am I supposed to get the meat out while it’s still alive?"

"Ahem. Second Young Master, you can first use a chopstick to make it release its urine, then grab it by the head and tail and just twist the tail off," Nanny Warren said, pointing to the lobster’s tail.

"I give up. How am I supposed to do this? Who chose this, anyway? Just looking for trouble. Why the hell are we eating shrimp in the first place?!" Harrison Lowell complained, his face a mask of misery.

Yvonne Lowell looked at him teasingly. "I said I wanted to eat it."

"It’s great! Shrimp is delicious and nutritious." Harrison Lowell’s expression did a complete 180. "It’s just peeling a live shrimp, right? I can do it!"

[His face! Look at that shameless face of his!]

[Hello everyone, I’m Harrison Lowell, and I specialize in face-changing.]

[Instantly wimped out. I’m dying.]

[Tsk, tsk, tsk. Look at him. He usually argues with the sky, the earth, and the air, but all of that disappears in front of his sister.]

[Most people are tigers at home and mice outside. He’s the opposite.]

"Alright, I’ll do it." Yvonne Lowell pushed him aside and looked at the camera. "Can Nanny Warren show me how to do it once? The one she uses won’t count toward tonight’s ingredients."

The cameraman pondered for a moment before agreeing.

He couldn’t help it. A sweet little girl, young enough to be his daughter, was looking at him with such expectant eyes. How could he possibly refuse?

If it were you, could you say no? Heck, you’d give her your life!

Yvonne Lowell: ’You really don’t need to see me through such thick rose-colored glasses...’

Nanny Warren gave Yvonne Lowell a pair of rubber gloves and had her follow her steps.

Yvonne Lowell inserted a chopstick into the lobster’s tail to expel its urine.

Then, copying Nanny Warren, she grabbed the head and tail, gave it a firm 360-degree twist, and snapped the entire tail section off.

She then used a knife to slice open the shell and pull out the whole, intact piece of tail meat.

Finally, she chopped off the lobster’s antennae, brought the cleaver down the middle of its head, and she was done.

Her flurry of moves, as fierce as a tiger’s, left Harrison Lowell and the online viewers speechless with admiration.

"Amazing, Nola! Your knife skills are incredible. There isn’t a single scrap of meat left on this thing!" Harrison Lowell exclaimed, picking up the empty shell to inspect it closely.

[My eyes learned it, but my hands are saying ’no way.’]

[Her knife skills are insane, right? It doesn’t look like it’s her first time killing something...]

Yvonne Lowell: ’Of course. I do a lot of killing, usually.’

[Maybe the little sister only knows how to kill, not how to cook. Hahaha.]

[We both watched Nanny Warren do that, right? So why didn’t I learn how? Could it be because I can’t afford Australian lobster?]

[What terrifying learning ability. No wonder she finished her bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD in three years and even became a professor...]

[Is this what my mom meant when she said smart people learn everything easily?]

Yvonne Lowell dispatched the remaining lobsters with the same swift procedure.

Seeing that Harrison Lowell was still struggling with the abalone, she decided to just go ahead and process the king crab next to her.

With a few quick WHACKS, she chopped off all eight of the crab’s legs, then split its body down the middle, revealing the roe and meat inside.

While she was processing the last king crab, there was a sudden CRACK.

The cutting board had broken. It had simply, cleanly split down the middle into two perfect halves...

Hearing the sound, everyone turned to look, only to see Yvonne Lowell staring blankly at the two pieces of wood.

The cameraman even moved in for a close-up, getting a shot of Yvonne Lowell and the ’corpse’ of the cutting board.

[AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...]

[This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone split a cutting board trying to chop a crab.]

[And the thing is, that board was as thick as my two fists put together!!!]

[Sweetie, we told you to chop the crab, not chop firewood!!!]

[Master, I have achieved enlightenment. So my wife isn’t a girl genius, she’s a super-strong girl!!!]

"Pfft." Harrison Lowell couldn’t help but let out a laugh, but he quickly suppressed it. "Ahem. It’s nothing, Nola. The board was just old. Not sturdy."

Yvonne Lowell shot him a look. "Do you even believe that yourself?"

"Hey, having a little extra strength is a good thing! You can protect yourself. Your big bro knows a Muay Thai coach, wanna sign up for a class and try it out?" Harrison Lowell said, rubbing his nose awkwardly.

[What is wrong with the way you talk?!]

[You’re doooomed~ Your sister’s gonna disown yooou~]

[Sigh, with that awful personality of yours, how are you ever going to find us a sister-in-law?? Who would ever want you???]

[I’m dying. Other fans don’t want their idols to be in a relationship, but we’re desperate for someone to come and take him off our hands.]

[Can’t be helped. It’s mainly because none of us would be interested in someone like him anyway...]

[I’m suddenly a little worried this kid is going to be a bachelor for life.]

[Don’t worry. If we just make him mute, there’s still hope.]

[Old Man Lowell, if you don’t know how to talk, then just shut your mouth!]

[Exactly! You should be pulling her into your arms and comforting her softly. But you’re incapable of that, so let me do it.]

[Well now, is that the sound of someone’s abacus? I can hear your scheming all the way from Quinton.]

[Thanks for asking. Heard it in Ashburn, too.]

[Crestwood heard it, too!]

"What are you guys doing?" Yancy Lowell asked, drawn by the commotion.

He had woken up and come down to the living room to find no one there, and for a second, he thought they had run off without him.

Harrison Lowell looked as if he’d just seen his savior. "Number Three, you’re finally here! Let me ask you, bro, are we not family?"

"Everyone is, except you," Yancy Lowell said, pushing up his glasses.

"Hey, you!" Harrison Lowell took a deep breath and put on a smile. "That’s fine. As long as you and Nola are family, that’s enough. Nola’s in trouble right now. So, are you going to help her or not?"

Yancy Lowell didn’t answer him, walking over to Yvonne Lowell instead. "What’s wrong, Nola?"

"Mission. Barbecue. Ingredients." Yvonne Lowell said, pointing to the pile on the floor and the cutting board she had split in two.

Yancy Lowell understood. He couldn’t help but chuckle.

He reached out and patted her on the head. "Go on and play. Leave this to me."

"Tch. What’s he so smug about? He’s only older than me by ten minutes. What’s with the big brother act?" Harrison Lowell muttered under his breath.
