Lin Fei asked him to go to the City Lord Mansion together? Hearing Lin Fei’s words, Liu Neng snorted coldly, his face full of killing intent, "Lin Fei, are you asking me to go to the City Lord Mansion to die? I’m not that stupid! Brothers, attack! Kill this kid and avenge our leader!"

Liu Neng didn’t want to waste words with Lin Fei and directly ordered his men to attack Lin Fei. However, Lin Fei hadn’t figured out what was going on yet. As he looked at the approaching city defense army, Lin Fei didn’t resist and was directly captured by two city defense soldiers. Still, they couldn’t subdue Lin Fei.

"Liu Neng, is there some misunderstanding between us? I don’t like what you’re doing." Lin Fei said, as he wasn’t given a chance to explain before being tied up; this wasn’t a good thing.

"Misunderstanding? You’re the spy sent by the Second Young Master! What face do you have to talk about misunderstanding? If it weren’t for you, our leader wouldn’t have been captured and remain uncertain of life or death now!" Liu Neng shouted angrily, his heart burning with rage.

Lin Fei frowned, "What are you talking about? I don’t know what you mean. Just let me go, and I’ll explain."

"Explain? There’s no need for explanation. We saw clearly that day. You were with the Second Young Master, and Miss was present too. Yet you still want to deny it? Come, chop off one of his hands, and let’s see if he still has the nerve to talk!" Liu Neng said, directly ordering to chop off Lin Fei’s hand!

Lin Fei looked at the city defense soldier, who wielded a gleaming saber and swung it towards Lin Fei’s arm. Lin Fei snorted coldly. Her lack of resistance didn’t mean she lacked the ability to retaliate. Thus, with a cold snort, the Heaven and Earth Qi within Lin Fei erupted abruptly.

A powerful force directly threw off the people pressing him down, sending them flying to the surrounding walls, where they spat out a mouthful of blood.

Lin Fei was now free and walked towards Liu Neng. Liu Neng didn’t expect Lin Fei to be this powerful, clearly underestimating him. Nevertheless, he didn’t show any sign of retreat and said, "You’ve harmed our leader; today I’ll kill you!"

After saying that, Liu Neng drew the saber at his waist and charged at Lin Fei. Looking at the enraged Liu Neng, Lin Fei could understand his feelings. In Liu Neng’s heart, Lin Fei was a traitor, a spy, an infiltrator—someone who deserved to be killed.

But Lin Fei was falsely accused, and Liu Neng didn’t know. That’s why he treated Lin Fei this way, but Lin Fei didn’t blame him. Facing the attack, Lin Fei merely dodged and said, "Liu Neng, can’t you hear me out?"

"Why waste words with you? Today, I’m going to kill you! You can die with our leader!"

Liu Neng leapt up, infusing True Qi into the saber in his hand, and slashed down at Lin Fei, fully displaying the power of the Golden Core Realm.

The saber Qi was like a weapon sharp enough to cut through a mountain, rushing toward Lin Fei. In response, Lin Fei directly summoned the Demon Shield Protection, knowing that if this continued, the opponent wouldn’t relent. In this case, he might as well show Liu Neng the gap between them.

So a black shield condensed in front of Lin Fei, formed entirely by True Qi, much harder than ordinary shields. Thus, Lin Fei raised the shield to confront the destructive saber Qi.

The saber Qi fell, directly hitting Lin Fei’s shield. Lin Fei felt the pressure increase, his body trembling, but still, he was unharmed because the saber Qi carried a heavy force. However, the heavy force only shook Lin Fei slightly and had no other effect.

Crack!

The saber Qi shattered, dissipating in light points in the air. Lin Fei looked at Liu Neng, who was gasping for breath, his eyes full of shock at Lin Fei’s unexpectedly strong prowess, realizing he wasn’t a match for Lin Fei.

Lin Fei looked at Liu Neng and said, "I’ve said it’s a misunderstanding; otherwise, I might have killed you hundreds of times by now. Do you believe that?"

Hearing Lin Fei’s words, Liu Neng showed a cold smile. Suddenly, with a flash of brilliance, Liu Neng only felt a sharp aura flash by. Turning back, he saw that his temple hair had been cut off...

Looking at Lin Fei, who withdrew his extended finger, his brows furrowed. It seemed Lin Fei was indeed telling the truth.

"Alright, Liu Neng, there’s no need to compare anymore. What he said is true; even if you all go together, you probably aren’t his match." The old General said.

Hearing the old General’s words, Liu Neng frowned, retreating.

The old General looked at Lin Fei and asked, "What’s your name?"

Lin Fei observed this white-haired, extraordinary figure, exuding a military’s iron-blooded aura. Having heard Liu Neng call him General, it seemed true he was a General.

"I am Lin Fei, paying respect to the General." Lin Fei cupped his hands towards the old General.

"No need for formalities, these days I’m no longer the General of the past, merely an old man in his sunset years." The old General chuckled self-deprecatingly.

Then the old General looked at Lin Fei and said, "Lin Fei, is it? Explain this misunderstanding, so Liu Neng understands what’s going on."

Lin Fei nodded and began, "That day, I was hunted by Liu An, the Second Young Master’s subordinate, and accidentally fled into Miss’s carriage. Miss insisted I accompany her to the Vault. You all know I didn’t have the strength to resist, so I went along, and it was Miss who protected me throughout."

"Humph! Do you think we’ll believe you? Why would Miss protect you? I can’t believe there’s no reason!" Liu Neng said.

"Of course, there’s a reason; Miss took a liking to me and wants to marry me." Lin Fei replied with a smile.

Hearing Lin Fei’s words, everyone froze for a moment, then burst into laughter.

"Miss took a fancy to you? What’s wrong with your head, Lin Fei?" Liu Neng said.

"You don’t believe it? You can ask the others if they’ve heard about Miss’s upcoming marriage." Lin Fei said with a smile.

Liu Neng looked around doubtfully, asking a nearby civilian, who said, "Indeed... Indeed, someone mentioned Miss is getting married..."

"Even if she’s getting married, it doesn’t necessarily mean you, Lin Fei?" Liu Neng said.

"That person, I’ve heard, is named Lin Fei..."

Liu Neng frowned and looked at Lin Fei, "Doesn’t this further prove you’re one of the City Lord Mansion’s people, a traitor, a spy!"

Lin Fei laughed and looked at Liu Neng, saying, "Aren’t you also one of the City Lord Mansion’s people?"

With that single sentence, Liu Neng was struck speechless, as were the others. Indeed, they were all from the City Lord Mansion, and the city defense army naturally belonged to the City Lord Mansion.
