Chapter 1768 - 1773: Battle Between Snake and Tiger
Zhou Ziyu pointed to Zhou Yu beside him and said, "This is my father, the City Lord of this city."
Lin Fei was surprised, then bowed to Zhou Yu, "I am Lin Fei, greetings, City Lord."
"Hehe, not bad, not bad, a fine young man, neither arrogant nor reserved. We’re leaving." Zhou Yu said, seeming uninterested in conversing much with Lin Fei. Lin Fei appeared ordinary, and his strength did not seem very strong.
"Yes!"
Zhou Ziyu responded, leading the way.
"Brother Zhou, if I may ask, where are we heading?" Lin Fei inquired.
Hearing Lin Fei’s question, Zhou Ziyu smiled, "To show you a good show."
"A good show?" Lin Fei was puzzled, then said, "I truly am looking forward to it then."
In a blink of an eye, the three had arrived at the grand hall and saw Zhou Ziyu activating an array in the courtyard, which seemed to be a trapping array that an ordinary person would struggle to escape from if they entered.
"What’s this?" Lin Fei was confused.
"You’ll know soon, wait a moment."
Saying this, Zhou Ziyu first opened the bag containing a treasure, and immediately the netting of the treasure released a giant snake within it, which quickly reached the top of the array.
Lin Fei didn’t understand Zhou Ziyu’s intention but quietly waited, hoping Zhou Ziyu had something interesting to show later.
The giant snake was clearly trying to resist, desperately crashing into the large array. Though it was a Nascent Soul expert, this large array clearly wasn’t merely for trapping Nascent Soul experts, so its arms couldn’t break free.
"Hehe, watch carefully, prepare to witness a real demon beast war!"
Saying this, Zhou Ziyu entered the hall and pushed out a cage holding the Double-winged Tiger, releasing it into the array. The Double-winged Tiger seemed very loyal, presumably tamed by Zhou Ziyu.
"Double-winged Tiger! Now bite him to death!" Zhou Ziyu commanded.
The Double-winged Tiger roared and charged at the giant snake.
The snake hissed, trying to communicate with the Double-winged Tiger, but the Tiger ignored it, launching directly at the snake, embedding its fangs into the snake’s flesh. The snake’s body trembled, and if communication was impossible, it stopped trying and wrapped its body tightly around the tiger.
Though the Tiger bit into the snake’s body, it soon felt the serpent’s coils constricting around it, making it hard to breathe, giving it a sense of suffocation.
Then suddenly, the snake bit into the Tiger’s head using just its teeth, puncturing it and creating a bleeding cavity that sprayed blood outward!
Lin Fei was amazed at how smart the snake was! To use such a formidable move, compressing the Tiger’s body like a sponge, exerting pressure until blood naturally sprayed from its head.
The Double-winged Tiger had lost the ability to resist, struggling in vain against its bound body, captive in the snake’s tight coils, leaving no possibility of escape.
Lin Fei watched the Tiger grow weaker.
"Hahaha! Good! Excellent snake!" Zhou Ziyu laughed, shouting at the snake.
But now the Tiger was nearly lifeless. The snake released it, and the Tiger collapsed to the ground like garbage, near death.
"Hahaha, Father, did you see? This snake is impressive!" Zhou Ziyu asked.
Zhou Yu nodded, "Very good, truly strong. Since that’s the case, find a way to tame it!"
"Don’t worry, Father, I will tame it, make it obedient!" Zhou Ziyu said, laughing happily.
At this moment, Zhou Yu left, and Zhou Ziyu used a treasure to capture the snake again.
"Brother Zhou, your treasure is truly impressive! It can enlarge and shrink!" Lin Fei exclaimed, thinking the treasure must be engraved with an array, how else could it change size?
"Of course, it’s powerful, but it’s our ancestral property, hence its might. Lin Fei, stay overnight, if you wish to leave, there’s no hurry tomorrow, how’s that?" Zhou Ziyu suggested.
Lin Fei chuckled awkwardly, "How could I decline..." To Lin Fei, this was too fortunate, practically creating an opportunity for him!
"No need to feel awkward, leaving tomorrow is fine. Let’s go drink!" Zhou Ziyu said, putting his arm around Lin Fei’s shoulder, pulling him along to drink.
However, Lin Fei understood Zhou Ziyu’s implication; by staying, Ziyu essentially issued a farewell, telling him to leave tomorrow, failing to do so would leave him without a reason to remain.
Thus, Lin Fei held little regard for Zhou Ziyu.
After wine and dining, Lin Fei returned to his room to rest, as there was nothing else to do, slowly falling asleep.
"Snap!"
Little Black targeted Lin Fei’s face and, with its tail, slapped him awake. Lin Fei jumped up, grabbed Little Black, and tossed it towards the wall.
"Lin Fei, don’t be mad, I was waking you! The wine you drank had something, and you drank it, so careless." Little Black, not hitting the wall, hovered, watching Lin Fei.
Lin Fei shook his head; its effect was indeed strong. "What time is it?"
"Exactly midnight," Little Black replied, then asked Lin Fei, "Why are you so weak?"
"Enough nonsense," Lin Fei said, surprised they poisoned him, feeling weak physically. "Should we wait for you to clear your mind?"
"No need, let’s go!" Lin Fei said, shakily heading outside.
As he reached for the door, he sensed someone passing outside. He halted until the person left, cautiously opening the door and slipping out, disappearing into the night.
