Chapter 2025 - 890: Dark Sun (Part 2)
Finally, at the Second Day’s morning, he entered the legendary Main Continent.
Or rather, he had already entered it, but now he was entering the core area of this terrifying Black Domain.
Yes, this Black Domain isn’t surrounding the edges of the Main Continent; it is merely the outer part of an incomparably vast Black Domain.
The Main Continent had long succumbed to endless darkness.
Here, the strength of the Black Fog had already reached the Ninth Rank, infinitely close to the strength of the primal Black Fog. Even "Divine Blood" couldn’t fully prevent its corrosion, [Bright Red Tears] and the burning Spirit Lamps were continually purifying the invading Black Fog from this space, Rod had already replaced ten Fire Spirit Lamps, meaning that ten portions of Guardian Fire had extinguished because of this.
In the Dream Realm, the Book of Knowledge murmured: "I should have thought of it long ago, how could there be a Black Domain surrounding the edge of the Main Continent? The entire Main Continent is just an endless Black Domain."
Asa flipped through the pages, and compared to before, its movements became slow. The deeper into the Black Domain they went, the more difficult its prophecies became, often finishing its predictions only after Rod had traversed the previous path.
But Rod couldn’t stop to wait for it; he had to keep moving to avoid the intensifying corrosion of the Black Fog. He knew quite a lot about the terrain of the Main Continent, and the "Heavenly Sphere Clock" also provided the coordinates of the Primordial Furnace. Rod could easily calculate the direction; even in this endless darkness, he did not lose his way.
However, as he continued deeper, the strength of the Black Fog grew higher, the scale of the primal Black Fog increased, and the area he could traverse became smaller. Rod’s heart sank into the abyss; what if deep within the Main Continent, the primal Black Fog was pervasive?
He couldn’t linger in this strength of the Black Fog for more than thirty seconds.
Finally, the yin clouds formed by the primal Black Fog completely sealed his path ahead; he could no longer move forwards.
What could be done?
Could he possibly go back?
Rod clenched his fist. Going back like this, he couldn’t accept it, but the primal Black Fog covered a wide scope. He walked far to the left and right but couldn’t find a way around.
Even if he found a way, the path ahead would be even more difficult; eventually, he’d be caught between the gaps of the primal Black Fog.
Just then, Asa suddenly shouted: "Master, you can enter! The path is right in front, I see it; this is the final danger!"
Rod’s heart trembled: "The final danger, what do you mean?"
Asa quickly flipped the pages: "In the prophecy, if you cross this primal Black Fog, the route becomes incredibly clear. The deadly danger hasn’t gone away, but Master will no longer face any obstructions."
Rod slightly furrowed his brow. Asa’s words somewhat puzzled him, but he didn’t have time to hesitate, opting to trust it immediately. Under Asa’s guidance, he flew westward for tens of thousands of yards and finally found a "gap" where the strength of the Black Fog was relatively weaker.
He passed through this twisting gap, flying hundreds of thousands of yards before entering another gap, weaving through tens of gaps like this. Suddenly, Rod’s body became light as all the heaviness on his soul dissipated. He raised his head in surprise to see an incomparably vast space.
In this space, there was no floating Black Fog, an invisible barrier keeping the Black Fog from entering.
Rod was shocked to discover that this terrifying Black Domain was "hollow," and deep inside it, such a space existed where the lightless darkness hung over the land. But [King of Night] gave him dark vision, allowing him to see through these barren and ancient lands exuding a desolate aura.
"My God," murmured the Book of Knowledge, "I can hardly believe that the deepest part of the Black Domain is like this."
Rod stepped forward twice; very quickly, inspiration emerged as an immense sense of danger, like several sharp spikes piercing into his flesh. He immediately realized this place wasn’t without danger; it might contain a more terrifying horror.
Asa shouted: "Master! Hurry, head southwest, we cannot linger here!"
With a thought, Rod commanded the [Spirit Realm Ship] to fly forward at maximum speed.
Asa nervously guided the master’s direction to bypass any dangers sensed in its inspiration, as these horrifying things must not be touched.
Rod’s figure traced a complex zigzag, flying toward the location of the Primordial Furnace.
No obstruction by Black Fog now, his speed surged to an unimaginable level, traversing tens of thousands of yards in the blink of an eye; this hollow region was also unimaginably vast.
Suddenly, the Book of Knowledge shouted wildly: "Master, look!"
Rod turned his gaze, disabling Spiritual Vision, activating [King of Night], unveiling a world of darkness before his eyes, revealing a shocking sight.
In the far distance, an immensely large Dark Light soared to the sky, forming a huge vortex. Five sharp black spires pierced the ring-shaped dark light, infinite Black Fog being absorbed by this dark light and sent into the firmament.
"Isn’t that the Dark Ring?"
Rod stared in shock at the terrifying ring-shaped dark light, more gigantic and frightful than Yanuo Royal City’s Dark Ring.
This is the source of terror, the Gate of Darkness leading to the Black Fog’s root; even at such a great distance, Rod could feel its incredibly eerie and horrifying aura.
"Could it be due to its presence that the interior of the Black Domain lacks Black Fog?"
Suddenly, the Book of Knowledge flipped pages quickly, shouting: "Master, that is the Fire King City, the peak kingdom of the Fire Epoch’s ten Fire King Cities; I remember the terrain, I recalled it, it’s the City of Hope Asedgas!"
Rod’s heart trembled; is this the Royal City where five human heroes escaped in the end?
He gazed at the last Royal City of the Fire Epoch. After its destruction, the Fire Epoch officially ended, and the Dark Epoch followed. From some ancient texts’ records, he knew how mighty and prosperous the City of Hope once was, but now it had become one of the sources of terrifying pollution!
"Quickly go!" Asa shouted: "The terrifying threat comes from there!"
Rod immediately accelerated forward, and after traversing thousands of thousands of yards, he saw another Dark Ring.
The Book of Knowledge shouted: "Sigles, the City of a Thousand Cities!"
Rod didn’t stop; he continued flying forward, soon seeing more Dark Rings, scattered across this land with spacing from thousands to tens of thousands of yards apart.
Each Dark Ring was once a Human Royal City.
The ten powerful dark lights stirred gigantic vortices, gathering all the Black Fog in this area to the firmament above.
Their scale far surpassed what was in Yanuo Royal City.
Rod raised his head, through layers of Black Fog, he saw a more terrifying Dark Ring, formed by the convergence of ten Dark Rings, with boiling darkness and endless dark light like a sun composed of darkness.
This is the Sun of the Black Fog!
This unspeakable terrifying sight shocked Rod, stirring sharp pain waves within the soul, indicating a terror threat that exceeded imagination.
Despite this, Rod didn’t stop moving; the [Spirit Realm Ship] traced a red zigzag line at breakneck speed, arriving at the goal’s endpoint.
The Primordial Furnace.
