Chapter 2026 - 891: The Primordial Furnace
This is a vast stretch of mountains, their rolling peaks extending beyond the horizon, Rod stood above the mountains, looking around, yet saw nothing related to the furnace.
However, the coordinates displayed by the Heavenly Sphere Clock were directly below him. Rod calculated several times, confirming there was no slight deviation.
"What is going on? The original furnace was clearly here, why can’t I see anything?"
Rod stopped the [King of Night], activated the Eye of the Soul, but still saw nothing. He flew downwards but found nothing but air, not touching any object. It wasn’t some kind of invisibility that could escape the Eye of the Soul. In fact, it could not exist.
Asa mused: "Could it be inside the mountain? Or underground?"
Rod shook his head slightly: "The coordinates are certain, if it were underground or inside the mountain, its height coordinate would change, it’s here."
"Master!" The Book of Knowledge suddenly shouted: "The space here is different, both space and time have undergone some special distortion, the primordial furnace must be hidden here!"
Rod lightly nodded, he too felt that special oddity, the river of time was like encountering a reef, splitting from both sides. The space was no longer continuous, but disordered like the Spirit Realm. However, the coordinates are certain, meaning the primordial furnace couldn’t be hidden in the Spirit Realm, Sea of Source, or any spatial crevice, otherwise, the array coordinates shown by the Heavenly Sphere Clock would not match the numbers.
It is not invisible, even less could it be formless air. Rod fell into contemplation, where exactly is the primordial furnace? Aside from the plane and space, what else could hide it?
He extended his right hand, gently touching the air filled with invisible ripples, and suddenly an idea struck him like lightning across his mind, he knew where the primordial furnace was.
"Master!"
In a dream, the Book of Knowledge shouted, it had thought of it too, but couldn’t be sure.
Rod lightly nodded, confirming its suspicion: "Yes, if it’s not in space, then it must be in time."
Asa exclaimed in amazement: "The primordial furnace, hidden within time?"
Rod answered calmly: "There’s only this one possibility left."
"Then how can we find it?"
Rod gave a faint smile: "Asa, have you forgotten? I still possess a star related to time."
With a thought, he directly activated [Time Wander], 10,000 divinity of golden light spread from the Obelisk, merging into the star.
[Time Exile]!
In the next second, Rod’s form instantly vanished from where he stood, he was exiled into the depths of the river of time. Countless strange, shifting colors flowed around him, the aura of time grew deeper, and under the guidance of the star’s power, he flew like a leaf into the deepest part of the time tunnel.
Finally, amidst the endless chaotic colors, in these disappearing yet reappearing fragments of space, in the many fleeting scenes of the river of time, Rod felt a peculiar oddity. He unhesitatingly flew towards that direction, using Soul Touch to reach that singular point.
In an instant, light burst forth, space flipped, and Rod’s vision suddenly darkened. The endless chaotic colors receded like a tide, and the magnificent river of time came to an end. When he regained his sight, before him was already a world of gray and white.
In this world, ashes were everywhere, mountains of ashes, deserts of ashes, seas of ashes, ashes drowned the sky and earth, besides ashes, there was nothing else here.
But soon, Rod discovered that this world had a structure, it was like an endless blast furnace, used for too long, abandoned for too long, so much so that the furnace was full of ash.
Is this the primordial furnace?
Rod could hardly believe his eyes, he walked forward, his steps on the ash made no sound, the infinite silence pressed on his eardrums, it was as if it had been abandoned at the edge of the universe.
"So that’s it!" murmured the Book of Knowledge: "The primordial furnace, turned out to be anchored outside the river of time, time does not pass here, it is forever in stasis."
Rod asked in surprise: "Time doesn’t pass, so why can I move?"
"This is the function of [Time Wander], allowing you to stroll within time, moreover, as a pseudo-King, you already possess the preliminary qualification above transcendental time."
The Book of Knowledge slowly turned its pages, watching the road the master walked, the footprints left behind vanished like an illusion.
"Substances within time will not change unless influenced by an external strong force capable of interfering with time."
Rod nodded slightly, no wonder the touch of these ashes felt so peculiar, it felt like stepping on bubbles of void.
He walked in this world of ashes, his heart filled with shock, unimaginable what it would have been like when the fire was initially kindled here. If there is so much ash left by the Primordial Fire, the amount of firewood needed to ignite it is unimaginable, no wonder, during the Fire Epoch, so many pseudo-Kings became the kindling for the Primordial Fire.
"Master!" The Book of Knowledge suddenly said: "We cannot stay here too long!"
Rod slightly frowned: "Why? After reigniting, [Time Wander]’s duration is infinite."
