Chapter 2023 - 889: Moving Forward (2)
Asa quickly flipped through the pages, golden light flickered between the seams of the book. It attempted to predict this drop of divine blood, and perhaps because its fate strength had increased, the prediction was successful!
"Master, I saw it!" It shouted: "Its real name is the Blood of Yitakutos!"
Rod felt a shock in his heart. The name Yitakutos was indeed part of the White Tower’s core, fused with another part of the Book of Eternity’s fate material.
"Asa, who is Yitakutos?"
No answer. Asa was surprised to find that the prediction about this name only returned a blank, gray emptiness.
"This, I don’t know, Master, I think He might be one of the Primordial Gods."
Rod nodded slightly. Perhaps the previous Master of Dreams, Heigao’er, had fought with this Primordial God and obtained this strange blood from His divine body.
Suddenly, he instinctively knew how to use this divine blood. With just a thought, the divine blood turned into a mist of blood, enveloping him. In that instant, he felt like he entered a new world, a space vastly different from the Main Material World. Invisible planar barriers formed on the surface of the blood mist, creating a difference in position between inside and outside the space. Even the Black Fog, trying to penetrate, would require some time.
Rod finally understood how the original Troliian led humanity out from the brink of destruction on the Main Continent, and how the Kingdom survived one destruction after another.
Unfortunately, even planar barriers can’t completely block the penetration of the Black Fog. Given enough time, the Black Fog will eventually enter this space, perhaps one of the reasons for the severance of Troliian’s legacy.
However, for him, it was already enough.
In the Dream Realm, the Book of Knowledge exclaimed excitedly: "Finally, I can retrieve the final Dream Fragment and Star Relics!"
Rod had no time to be excited as he summoned Asa and quickly returned to the Holy Fire Sacrificial Ground.
Beneath the golden Holy Fire, he told Qingyu about the journey to the Main Continent. Due to the complexity involved, he didn’t reveal the true reason, and Qingyu tacitly didn’t ask. But her eyes were filled with worry.
"Little... Rod, are you going out again?"
Rod nodded: "I must go."
"But the pressure on the Royal City keeps growing. The strength of the Black Fog is continually increasing, and the destructive space cannot compensate for the gaps in the defensive line. Moreover, after you and Viheler went to the Abyss, the earth has changed abnormally."
Rod’s face sank: "What happened?"
Qingyu said softly: "Not long ago, Lord Iyeta woke up. For some unknown reason, his predictive abilities incredibly increased. The Great Shepherd Leader said it’s because his potential was unleashed. Although the White Tower lost its prophetic core, he and the Great Shepherd Leader rebuilt a more powerful Prophetic City. They saw the plane of the Abyss completely shattered, and rampaging darkness flowing into the Main Material World. Countless Abyss Rifts will appear on the land, and countless Abyss Monsters will surge from the rifts toward the earth."
"This is a change in the plane. Even the Spirit Barrier of the Star Marrow Altar cannot shield against it, and the Royal City will soon face a more severe situation."
She paused for a second, and her tone became low.
"Iyeta said if we can’t stop this in time, Troliian might not survive until the end of the Black Fog’s tide, and the last Human Kingdom will be devoured by the Black Fog."
Rod felt a sinking sensation in his heart, knowing that he shattered the strange object due to the depths of the Abyss, unexpectedly bringing deeper disaster to Troliian. But if he hadn’t done so, he would never have discovered the secrets of the Ancient Epoch nor the existence of the extremely evil being.
Qingyu gazed at Rod, her water-like eyes refracting peculiar glints in the Holy Fire.
"Rod, you are the only prospective king of humanity, the perpetually shining miracle star of Troliian. If you are in Troliian, we might resist the Abyss’s catastrophe, perhaps enduring until the day the Black Fog tide ends. If we really achieve that, it could be a new Epoch, even brighter than the Ancient Epoch and the Fire Epoch."
Rod remained silent, understanding the implication of Qingyu’s words. If they carried civilization’s complete legacy, with nearly 3 billion humans and countless human strongmen surviving, it would be an incredibly glorious scene. Humanity might really eliminate the Black Fog in the next Epoch.
However, the only issue is whether humans can really survive until the great disaster ends?
If this is the last tide of the Black Fog, what then?
Before finding a definitive answer, Rod absolutely could not stop going forward.
"I know." He answered calmly: "But I still have to go."
Qingyu softly asked: "Is there a more important reason?"
"Yes."
Qingyu was silent for a few seconds, suddenly showing a slight smile: "I understand, please come back soon, my partner, I’m still waiting to have a child with you."
——
The Main Continent is north of Troliian, at least over two hundred thousand kin from the Royal City, extremely far.
With the Black Fog tide arriving now, reaching such a distant place is almost impossible. Outside Troliian, the Black Fog’s strength has reached the Eighth Level, and even the Holy Fire couldn’t completely dispel it. Countless Black Fog Symbionts crowd within the Black Fog, including strong, giant Black Fog Symbionts that possess 17-level Spiritual Energy, making it very difficult for ordinary warriors to handle.
Worse still, in the distance are colossal Black Fog Symbionts with 18-level Spiritual Energy, which only primordial-level strong men can resist.
Leaving the Royal City and stepping outside the range of the Holy Fire is a very difficult task. But Rod possesses "divine blood," and this miraculous creation is very similar in function to the Star Marrow Altar, yet fundamentally different. The blood mist it forms is another space, although it can’t dispel the Black Fog, it can partially isolate its intrusion.
Nothing is more suitable for Rod’s existence than this. As long as he activates "divine blood," wraps himself in the blood mist, he can use [Spirit Realm Ship] to shuttle through the Black Fog. While not at maximum speed, even at one-tenth speed, reaching the edge of the Main Continent is no problem.
Due to Troliian’s increasing pressure, Rod is heading alone this time; although the blood mist formed by "divine blood" can accommodate hundreds of thousands of people, Qingyu and the Great Shepherd Leader strongly wished he would take Viheler and others, yet Rod still refused.
His intuition tells him that this journey to the Main Continent is even more dangerous than the Abyss journey. The deepest Abyss has already shattered, its danger level far below the initial expectations.
The Main Continent, however, is different. Judging from the Black Domain shrouding the continental edge, the Main Continent harbors astonishing pollution, with a much higher risk level. He isn’t suited to take anyone, going alone is the best choice.
Fact proved his choice was correct.
