The Magus of Genesis

Episode 18: Ice Spirit/Jack o 'Frost

"Ho, ho, ho"

It crawled out of the ice chamber in a slow motion to ask how we were doing.

Every time you take a step forward, a frost column stands at its feet, and the walls of the ice chamber that its hands touched freeze.

The back length is not as big. Is it to the same extent as the eye?

Round body, round head. A coat with a hanging drop of ice. And black, round eyes like a bottomless hole, unreadable of any emotions, stared at us.

"No, silly......"

I whine unexpectedly.

There is no such thing as my known creature in this world. Bears, deer and ravens, all the names I said that just apply to similar creatures. Evolutionary variations seem to be considerably wider than Earth's if done and huge, with more legs, and horns growing.

I know there are creatures who look alike. Evolution converges according to function. The need for wings for flying birds is no different in this world where something called magic is real. Because magic comes from developing the original ability to say so.

But this guy...

JackFrost is a fictional being on Earth. Its appearance was not made by sharpening it by the blade of necessity, it's just like clay craftsmanship pinched by fantasy.

Why is that, right now, in front of reality?

"Doctor."

Eye whispers in a hard voice, keeping his gaze off the jackfrost.

"Please run away"

JackFrost opened his mouth pampered and a tremendous amount of cold air blew out of it.

Reflectively, I open my mouth wide and blow a flame.

The flames and snowstorms bumped into each other and struck out.

In other words, they are as strong as my flames.

"……… would be a lie!?

But my flames can't keep spitting against a blizzard that doesn't diminish momentum at all. It's exactly the same as breathing anyway. When I held my eyes in my arms, I spread my wings and marched into the universe.

"What the hell is he?"

"Doctor, you can't! We have to get down!

The storm blows my body away, along with the snow that the eye screams and pounds. I try to regain my posture by putting some effort into my wings, but freeze in fierce cold air and don't let it move well, and I creep and fall. Not good. As it is, it will clash to the ground!

I embrace her all the time and wrap her with my tail and wings in an attempt to at least protect Eye alone.

But what came a few seconds later was not a hard ground shock, but a soft twig and leaf feel that would take me.

"What are you doing?"

"Nina!"

Nina looked down at me as I stopped like a bird on a high stretched branch.

"Whoa, whoa! Rah!"

If I turned my gaze to the barbaric voice I could hear from under the tree, D'Arga was about to wave a rock sword and amputate the jackfrost.

The snow scattered, and JackFrost splashed apart.

Soon, however, the chunks of snow gathered again to form the original snowman.

"What is it? Oh, this is it!

D'Arga, the boulder, also peels off his eyes and flies away from this.

"Brother, what the hell is this guy!?

"No… neither do I. I don't know."

It is certain that it is JackFrost.

Sure, but what the hell?

Demons, demons, fairies.

Even in this world, where dragons exist, it's the first time a creature has fallen apart and never died.

"Can't you do something with your brother's flame?

"His snowstorm was stronger."

"Eh!? Is it better than that?

I guess D'Arga remembered five years ago. I caught a glimpse of the mountain with the wind hole empty.

"That's if you chant the spell with all your might. Unchanted, just exhaling."

"If there's a chant, can you beat him?

"Maybe I'll be fine..."

To Nina's question, I shook my head.

"Even if I just chanted a word, maybe the ice room will blow up"

"Let's think of another way."

Immediately Nina truncated the proposal.

The flames go too well with me.

When I even use the spell, the hands-down thing doesn't work at all.

"I'll do it!

Ken was the one who broke in from the side.

"Ken, have you come too?"

If it is true that his flaming magic could defeat JackFrost.

In the sense that he can adjust his power, he's as good as I am.

"Have you talked about it?!?

D'Arga screams as he shatters his jackfrost.

Even though it plays right away, that attack doesn't mean it's a total waste.

At least, it seemed impossible to attack while it was being destroyed.

But Jack Frost's body freezes just by touching it. D'Arga's rock sword should be quite hard to heat through, but it was stained white, freezing to his two arms.

Or how can you wave a sword in that state, he is.

"Then I'll make a gap. Ken's got a big shot. Hit him in."

"Okay."

Nina jumps to the ground without a sound, and Ken nods.

"And."

He glanced at this one and said.

"Doctor, come on, Ainee, put it down."

To his words, I finally realize that I kept holding my eyes back.

"Oh, I'm sorry!

I rush down from the top of the tree and get my hands off my eyes.

"It's okay... we have to stop her."

Eye leaned down just a little embarrassed, then squeezed his expression tight and stared at JackFrost.

"Trees, roots, leaves, branches, grow and be cages!

The trees that responded to Nina's spell break through the ground and surround JackFrost.

But before it grows, JackFrost waves his hand.

Only then did the trees that touched the flat of my hand freeze from the edge.

"Already! Why are you growing so slow!

Usually a tree of nina stretches like a snake.

Perhaps because the ambient temperature itself has dropped considerably.

"Fire."

I jumped up and cast only one spell with my neck to the sky.

A giant fireball pops out of my mouth and illuminates the night sky as if it were the sun.

"Whoa... this is awesome."

"Sprinkle, get tangled!

The downpouring hotline melts the ice around it all at once, and Nina stretches it out on the occasion. The jacfrost-entangled jacfrost froze in an instant to secure its body.

"What stretches out the red tongue, what wraps the coat of flame, the fire lizard that eats firewood -"

Jack Frost's face circles in the direction of Ken casting the spell.

And out of his mouth like the third moon, a snowstorm blew out of his sight.

"Give me a coat of dripping ice!

With the sharp voice of the eye, the ice-cold stands like a shield in front of Ken.

... right. Is ice more effective than flames if it is just prevented?

"Pierce it with its tongue tip and burn it down with that exhalation!

Ken's spell was completed and a fireball with a tremendous amount of heat was released from his fingertips.

It pierces the ice column created by the eye and pierces the jackfrost with momentum as it is.

The sound of a hot iron sticking into the water sounded juicy, and JackFrost vanished without a trace.

"Huh, did you do it………."

"Looks like it."

Make sure it doesn't play again this time, and D'Arga exhales and stabs her sword to the ground.

Seeing Nina also relieve the tension, I also finally stroked my chest down.

"But, brother, you think you're too strong."

"The fire really doesn't work. Still, if it's someone you're dealing with, you can do it with unchanging exhale or nails."

You might want to consider some other method of attack besides flames.

I'm good at manipulating the wind, but the air is too light for attack tactics.

"Ai, what's wrong?

"Yeah. Nothing…………"

To Ken's question, Eye shook his head.

To break the word, she had a look that came up with somewhere.

What's wrong? As I look at it, my gaze hits me with her pointing this way.

"Um... Doctor. Can I talk to you for a second?

"Yeah. Of course, I don't mind."

"Well, then, at my house"

Nod and follow her to the village.

"Can't we just hear that?

Ken stopped there.

"I don't mean no..."

"If I were -"

"Hey."

Nina raised her voice as she looked up at the sky in a way that blocked Ken's words.

"I'm not stopping this."

On the palm of her hand, the snow is still falling.

By the time I realized, the falling snow had created a swirl and was gathering in one place.

Jack Frost's mouth, which is completed from his head, paints the shape of the moon.

The motion of the eye turning after my gaze was felt nasty and slow.

"No!"

She spreads her arms wide and screams.

There's a white breeze.

In the next moment, Eye's body was completely frozen.
