Chapter 8: The Seven-Colored Card
At this moment, in an empty space with nothing ’special’ about it, the three supreme existences of this universe had gathered together.
With these three gathered in one place, let alone humanity, even if an angel or demon happened to see them, they’d turn and run instead of daring to take another look.
"Hey, can you show me how to use this card? I can sense the special laws within it, but I have no way of taking it out and using it."
He had examined it very carefully already. The power hidden inside the black card was on the same level as his own. That meant the power sealed inside the card was the ultimate authority of this plane.
Since this wasn’t the plane where he was born, there was a very obvious rejection that made it impossible for him to use it.
"What a shame, but that’s not possible. Cards with special abilities shouldn’t be fused together. The universe doesn’t need a third existence to be born because it’s already perfectly balanced as it is." Michael gently shook his head.
The young man felt a little disappointed, but he didn’t dwell on it. Besides, Michael’s words reminded him of the Genesis Fragments.
Although the numbers were vastly different, both the Genesis Fragments and the golden cards were special powers that the universe allowed to exist and be used within it.
Combining all the golden cards together was no different from walking the path toward creating an existence like him, but only halfway. As long as Michael and Lucifer existed, the other half would never come into existence.
"Don’t look so disappointed. We’re actually very welcoming. Otherwise, the moment you appeared, we would’ve already kicked you out of this plane. Even if you can’t use the black card, I’ll still give you a small but interesting gift."
Seeing Michael doing most of the talking, Lucifer spoke up to get closer to the young man.
No matter what, heaven and hell were still enemies. If Lucifer could pull over an existence with authority even greater than Michael’s, there was nothing better.
He didn’t need this young man to fight for him. As long as he came to ’vacation’ in hell for a while, that alone would give him more than enough reason to show off to heaven.
"Thank you."
Lacking any real sincerity, the thank-you sounded like it was said just for the sake of saying it, making Lucifer’s expression stiffen for a moment, but he didn’t say anything.
"Lucifer, with that level, you think you can poach someone right in front of me? My friend, let’s chat for a bit. I’m pretty curious about other planes since I’ve never left this place."
Not just him; Lucifer wanted to hear it too. Even though both of them could already guess with remarkable accuracy, if not perfectly, hearing it directly from a visitor from another plane still felt different.
"Sure."
The young man agreed and immediately started telling everything from the moment he was born until now, without hiding even the slightest thing.
One of his most outstanding traits was: if someone asked him for something, he’d agree.
Of course, that didn’t mean every request. It was limited to talking or doing simple things that wouldn’t harm others or the person making the request.
Since he had lived through countless eras, it would take a very long time to tell everything with words alone, so he directly copied his memories and handed them to Michael and Lucifer to watch for themselves.
Absorbing such an enormous amount of memories was naturally nothing difficult for supreme divine beings like them. In an instant, both of them had finished watching.
The expressions on their faces became a little strange. Lucifer couldn’t hold back his laughter anymore.
"Hahahaha... I’m dying here. You have way more freedom to act in the universe than we do, but in return, you don’t do anything at all."
As for Michael, his expression was hard to read. As the embodiment of goodness, if he had been in that plane, he probably really would’ve drawn his sword and hunted down this ’Cosmic Tumor.’
But to be fair, after looking through those memories and understanding the young man’s thoughts, he couldn’t say this was an evil person.
"If you need me, I’ll be there, but I won’t actually do anything; being fair to everyone means not helping anyone; life and death are normal parts of the universe, so if you die, that’s not my fault..."
Michael listed off one description after another about the young man. The more he spoke, the more reassured he became that the chance of the young man tearing this plane apart was zero.
"Did I describe you correctly?"
Michael looked straight into the young man’s eyes. No matter how he looked, all he saw was absolute stillness. There wasn’t even the slightest ripple of emotion.
"A little incomplete, but the general idea is right."
"Hey, Michael. If from the very beginning of everything we had been one instead of two separate existences, do you think we’d be like him? Having everything ends up meaning having nothing at all."
Although Lucifer’s attitude wasn’t serious at all, Michael couldn’t deny those words.
"Your existence carries the risk of throwing this plane severely out of balance. If you can stay quietly on Earth, we have no objections. But if..."
Before Michael could finish, the young man nodded without hesitation. There wasn’t even the slightest attempt to negotiate.
"Tsk, you really do agree to anything people ask. From your memories, I can see that cultivation is quite interesting. Do you want cultivation to appear in this plane for the first time?"
If he could spread the ’local specialty’ of his own plane to another one, the young man naturally agreed without any hesitation.
"Different planes, different paths. But the ultimate goal is still to temper the living beings within them, so there’s no real difference. Since you mean well, then that’s fine, but the rules..."
Michael only smiled faintly at that and waved his hand.
The black card floating in the air split apart into the same golden cards as before, except there was one small difference. This time, there was an extra seven-colored card.
"This is a small gift from me in return for the memories you shared earlier. You can’t let all of humanity cultivate, but if you only choose a few people, then it won’t be a problem."
The seven-colored card flew straight into his head, and he immediately felt that he had gained another special ability.
