Following that eerie laughter, streams of black smoke gathered into one spot and took the form of a man who looked like an angel with six black wings.

His face was gaunt, his teeth were razor-sharp, his long silver hair was ragged, and his angelic robes were tattered, smoldering with a fire that would never go out.

Even though he called himself the lord of hell, with this appearance, he looked more like a fallen angel than some kind of primordial devil.

"Get out of heaven, Lucifer!"

The female angel who had been crying just moments ago was now holding a holy sword radiating divine light as she stood in front of the young man, as if trying to protect him.

Her sudden action caught him slightly by surprise. How long had it been since someone stood in front of him like this?

It wasn’t just him. Even Lucifer was surprised and burst into laughter at this completely meaningless act.

"Hahaha... little angel, did you trade away your intelligence to become an angel?"

The moment his voice faded, time stopped. Lucifer instantly appeared in front of her and gently touched her forehead with a finger.

Before she could understand what had happened, she suddenly fell backward but immediately got back up and swung her sword, trying to cut off Lucifer’s head.

Angels were just that fearless. As long as any entity from hell dared to openly come to heaven, they would attack immediately without caring how strong the enemy was.

Lucifer had no intention of dodging such a feeble attack. Instead, he bared his bright white teeth and used them to block the sword.

The holy sword looked as though it could cut through anything, yet the recoil from striking a set of teeth shattered it into several pieces.

Even though it didn’t look like Lucifer had attacked, the angel could feel an enormous force pushing her back several steps.

"Sorry about this. Head somewhere safe first."

Sensing that a huge fight was about to break out, she grabbed the young man by the collar and threw him into a gate of light.

He cooperatively let her lift him, but there was one huge problem. She could lift him, but the card in his hand didn’t budge.

The ridiculous sight made Lucifer clutch his stomach and burst into laughter.

"Hahaha... little angel, are you really that stupid? Don’t tell me you actually have no idea what he’s holding?"

When a devil gets the chance to meet an angel, of course he’d make the most of it by mocking them. After all, the two sides were basically enemies.

Then he pulled out a sword blazing with the flames of hell. His blood-red eyes flashed, releasing an overwhelming aura that nearly forced the angel to her knees.

"You slashed me once, so now I’ll slash you once too, okay? I’m very fair, aren’t I?"

Lucifer was only asking for fun, so before she could even answer, the unavoidable blade came crashing straight down toward her head.

What kind of unlucky day is this? First I encountered a completely irrational human soul, and now I have to fight the lord of hell. I’m just an ordinary angel with nothing special about me! Did I accidentally make some kind of mistake, so God wants to punish me?

Even though she was about to be split in half, the angel’s mind was still desperately trying to figure out what mistake she had made, because there was no way an angel could be this unlucky.

Of course, when the young man called her an immortal entity, he wasn’t joking. Her existence literally could not be erased from the universe by anyone.

But being impossible to erase didn’t mean taking an attack from the lord of hell would feel pleasant.

Seeing that the angel was about to be split in two, the young man merely glanced at her before lowering his head again to look at the black card, as if nothing important was happening.

If he had really known how to save people, then when the entire universe was hunting him down, someone would have stood up to protect him. But unfortunately, he had never truly saved anyone in his life.

Not only had he never been of any help to anyone, but he himself had also been constantly moving through civilizations because of that damned passive effect. The title "The Universe’s Tumor" that everyone gave him wasn’t undeserved at all.

Suddenly, a dazzling golden light pushed back the evil from hell. Half of the area was restored, returning to its original sacred and holy appearance.

Space was divided into two halves with completely opposite colors, as if heaven and hell had reached a perfectly balanced stalemate.

A six-winged male angel appeared. His flowing hair shone like strands of indestructible gold. His golden eyes, like brilliant stars, radiated immense heat.

Holding a holy sword of light in one hand, he casually knocked Lucifer’s sword away.

"Don’t bully my subordinate, Lucifer."

His voice was righteous and dignified. Just hearing it gave people a feeling of absolute trust, unlike Lucifer’s eerie voice.

"Michael, aren’t you ashamed of lying? No matter what point in time it is, from the birth of the universe to the infinite future, it’s all the present to you and me. You clearly had no intention of stopping me from the start. This isn’t anything worth worrying about anyway. I also enjoy abusing my subordinates now and then."

Lucifer’s voice was completely blocked by Michael. Aside from the young man, who wasn’t affected by Michael’s authority, no one else could hear it.

Then Michael waved his hand and created a gate of light, sending the little angel away from this chaotic place.

"If you came here just to slander me in front of my subordinate, then please return to hell. Besides, I’m not like those violent fools in hell who don’t understand reason. I was randomly checking whether my subordinate was doing her job well."

Those words might have been hard to believe coming from someone else, but if Michael said them, then he definitely believed them himself.

"Forget it, we’re here to meet this esteemed guest."

With his usual carefree attitude, Lucifer withdrew both his sword and his aura. He had clearly caused so much trouble, yet he didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty.

Seeing that, Michael also put away his weapon, and the fierce clash between the two sides disappeared as space returned to its original state.

"I am Archangel Michael. I apologize for the recent commotion, esteemed guest. Please have a seat."

Three stone thrones rose from the rocky ground. Even though they were made of nothing but stone, they carried an indescribable nobility because the ones who used them were the three strongest entities on this plane.
