Chapter 117: Calm down, bro. I’m a B-rank hunter.
The important meeting turned into a complete joke the moment Bell walked out. The others were annoyed, but what could they do now? Bell was an S-rank hunter. They’d have to be crazy to pick a fight with him.
As for Bell, he was already on the way to the airport with Lailah and Mia. Seeing Bell walking beside Lailah while Mia trailed behind with a pile of luggage, anyone would have a hard time figuring out what kind of relationship the three of them had.
"Bell, can’t you help me pull the luggage?"
The corner of Mia’s mouth twitched as she looked at Bell. She was his girlfriend, not his maid.
"It’s not my luggage, so why should I pull it? Besides, you’re a B-rank hunter. This little bit of stuff isn’t heavy for you."
Bell answered casually without even glancing at her, his eyes staying on Lailah the whole time. If Lailah wasn’t so good-natured, Mia would’ve grabbed her by the hair and beaten her up by now.
"Am I talking about whether it’s heavy or not? Besides, is this suitcase full of candy mine?"
Mia’s eyelid twitched as she looked at the biggest and heaviest suitcase. Eating that much candy on a short trip was basically asking for death.
Lailah’s body really was strange. She was obviously a mortal, but she had a natural regeneration effect, so she couldn’t get sick at all. If it weren’t for that effect, she would’ve ended up with cavities, diabetes, heart disease, obesity...
"How about I pull the candy suitcase?"
Seeing Mia getting upset, Lailah immediately wanted to help her. Of course, Bell wasn’t about to let her.
"You’re weak, while Mia’s a B-rank hunter. With her physical strength, pulling one suitcase or ten isn’t a problem."
Mia’s mood had just gotten a little better because of Lailah’s attitude, but Bell immediately made it worse again.
Stay calm, stay calm. I already dumped that useless Mark to get together with an S-rank hunter. I can’t give up on Bell over something this trivial.
Mia comforted herself. After all, she didn’t become Bell’s girlfriend because of love at first sight or anything romantic like that.
Calling Mia pragmatic wouldn’t be wrong. She was Bell’s girlfriend mainly because of his benefits and status. Love and dating weren’t that important.
Bell agreed to be her boyfriend simply because she was beautiful, matched his type, and took the initiative to approach him. If Lailah’s identity wasn’t so special that he never considered dating, he would’ve changed girlfriends a long time ago.
"Your relationship is really troublesome and complicated."
Lailah shook her head and kept sucking on her lollipop. She understood all these messy emotions, but she thought they were meaningless. To her, only the love angels had for humanity, or God’s love for everything in the universe, was true love.
As someone with money, Bell naturally booked the plane tickets immediately at a price much higher than usual. It only took the three of them a few hours to reach the city where Mark was hospitalized.
"Wow, a city really is a city. They all look exactly the same."
Lailah’s fake look of surprise didn’t match what she said at all. In reality, she wasn’t impressed either, but since they were already here, she figured she’d give Bell a compliment to keep his spirits up.
"Of course they look the same. Modern urban planning is naturally similar because these two areas don’t have much difference in their natural conditions."
Lailah’s encouraging compliment made Bell’s eyelids twitch a few times. Did he need her to compliment something this pointless? This trip was mainly to see how Mark was doing now.
The three of them headed straight to the hospital first, without even having time to rent a hotel room. As a result, Mia had to drag the luggage the entire way, as if she really was someone Bell had hired to carry it.
Seeing three unfamiliar people approaching, Nick’s absent-minded gaze instantly locked onto them. The cigarette in his mouth fell as his face froze when he saw the two beauties walking closer.
As for Bell’s existence, he didn’t care. Surely no one was crazy enough to attack someone from the Hunter Association while they were on a mission.
Nick’s genius-level thinking quickly kicked in. He saw Lailah walking in front, so he assumed she was Bell’s girlfriend. As for Mia walking behind, she looked like some hot and beautiful employee.
Picking a target was also an art. Choosing the wrong person obviously meant there was no way to succeed in getting a girlfriend. Besides, he liked Mia’s sexy style more than Lailah’s gentle one.
"Beautiful lady, can I have your phone number? I’m Nick, a B-rank hunter and an intern entrusted with an important mission by the Hunter Association."
Even though he was a B-rank hunter, Nick had only awakened not long ago. He had too little work experience, so there was no way the association would let him become a full-time employee yet.
"I already have a boyfriend."
Mia looked at Nick with disgust. She really didn’t like Nick’s flashy appearance. Besides, he was only a B-rank hunter, and he still thought he could approach her?
"What? Don’t tell me you’re talking about that big guy? Are you the third party trying to butt into their relationship?"
Nick awkwardly scratched his head. The current situation wasn’t like what he had just imagined.
"Are you blind, you bastard? How could Lady Lailah possibly be my girlfriend?"
Bell hadn’t planned to come here and cause trouble, but Nick was getting on his nerves so much that he felt uncomfortable if he didn’t do something.
Lailah was the little ancestor Bell had worked so hard to keep around, so how could she possibly be his girlfriend? A blind fool like Nick deserved a beating to open his eyes.
"Hey, calm down, bro. I’m a B-rank hunter. Don’t think being bigger means you can beat me."
Nick hurriedly waved his hands. Since Bell was wearing black sunglasses, Nick couldn’t tell who he was. He just felt Bell was very dangerous.
"My name is Bell. If you don’t know who I am, you’ll find out in a minute."
