Chapter 116: Going to Mark’s Place
It wasn’t just Bell who frowned; Lailah’s reaction also became a little strange. Since when did those entities in hell have the free time to play such boring tricks? In her opinion, the chances of Nexus being the cause were a hundred times higher than some devil doing it.
Lailah put her hand into the magic bag. Under the gazes of everyone present, she stuffed her entire arm into a tiny bag.
Her action immediately caught the attention of all the hunters here, and they instantly realized that the bag wasn’t an ordinary item the first time they saw it in action.
These past few days, Lailah hadn’t used the magic bag either, so everyone thought that it was just a small bag she treated as an accessory. But a small bag that could fit an entire arm inside was definitely not an ordinary item.
In this world, the only reasonable explanation was that this was Lailah’s awakened ability. But why would an ability related to space only give her physical strength on par with an ordinary person?
This made everyone extremely confused because Lailah’s weakness had already been verified by everyone.
Lailah didn’t care about their gazes and just tried to rummage around for the magical gadget she needed.
"Found it."
Seeing the thing she needed, she happily narrowed her eyes into crescents. The thing in her hand looked no different from an ordinary six-sided die, but it was a magical gadget.
Truth dice: when asking a closed question and rolling the dice, it can give one of six answers. Number one is false, number two is highly likely to be false, numbers three and four are indeterminate, number five is highly likely to be true, and number six is definitely true.
While everyone was still confused about what was going on, Lailah immediately asked the question she wanted to know the answer to.
"Is Nexus currently at Mark’s place?"
Right after asking, she immediately rolled the dice. This act was no different from that of a gambler, making everyone frown because it was so ridiculous.
Rolling the dice did have a chance of giving an accurate answer, but how was that any different from just picking randomly? This was basically a random choice, but it could be put more nicely as letting fate decide.
Moreover, who the hell was Nexus anyway? Wasn’t he that F-rank who broke the crystal ball and caused the Wolf guild to spend a huge amount of money buying a new one?
What was the point of knowing the information about another F-rank? Were they treating everyone here like idiots?
Bell knew very well that there was nothing ordinary inside Lailah’s magic bag, so he stared intently at this seemingly ordinary die to see if it could produce some kind of special result.
He also wanted to help Lailah find Nexus, but Nexus was constantly teleporting, so he hadn’t left behind any traces for Bell to follow. As for Lailah’s universal compass, who knew when its cooldown would end.
Knowing Mark’s exact location could now be considered an opportunity. But what if Nexus was at another disciple’s place? There were so many people in this world, so the possibility that Nexus only had one disciple was very low.
The strange die had just fallen onto the table when it immediately bounced high into the air even though Lailah hadn’t thrown it down hard.
After spinning countless times in the air, it fell straight down and stuck to the tabletop as if there were a magnet or something similar.
A single dot appeared, and on top of that, a disappointed sound effect played, making Lailah sigh before putting the truth dice back into the magic bag.
"Why isn’t he there? Then where am I supposed to go to find him now?"
As an angel, Lailah naturally wouldn’t get discouraged and give up. But the gloomy situation right now made it impossible for her to feel happy.
She took out another lollipop and put it in her mouth. She had to suck on two at once to feel comfortable in situations like this.
A series of strange actions along with Lailah’s constantly changing expressions left everyone confused except Bell.
"Nexus isn’t there?"
"One hundred percent not."
Lailah decisively shook her head. Since number one had appeared, there was no need to keep doubting it and waste time for nothing.
"Then do we need to go to Mark’s place and take a look? Even if we don’t find Nexus, I can take you on a trip to another city."
"But..."
Bell’s sudden suggestion made Lailah hesitate a little. It wasn’t that there was anything wrong with the suggestion, but the problem was the dozens of eyes staring straight at her.
The two of them were shamelessly talking privately right in front of everyone while those people couldn’t understand a thing, so of course they were annoyed.
"But what? This is also a chance for me to take Mia out to have some fun. Don’t you want her to have this chance?"
Bell smirked extremely slyly. Lailah was very kind, and he knew that very well. His relationship with her was also quite good, so whenever he wanted to ask her for a favor, he only needed to know how to talk to her a little, and it would be difficult for her to refuse.
"If that’s the case, then okay."
Now that things had been said this far, Lailah didn’t refuse either. She naturally realized that Mia felt uncomfortable because of her presence. Even though it wasn’t her fault, helping Mia was also a good thing.
More importantly, Bell’s attitude was already too obvious. Even if Lailah refused now, he would still continue finding ways to drag her along no matter what.
Bell also wanted to go and see what kind of changes had happened to a useless guy like Mark after he was lucky enough to meet the strongest master in the world.
"Then let’s get ready. And you walk really slowly, so let me carry you to save time."
Without waiting for Lailah’s agreement, Bell directly picked her up in a princess carry and disappeared from the meeting room under the bewildered gazes of everyone present.
Lucian was driven into a rage by Bell’s action. The innocent ballpoint pen in his hand was immediately snapped in half.
"Mr. Wolf! Hurry up and go teach your damn son a lesson!"
Lucian’s shout was so loud that even the nearby floors, despite having fairly good soundproofing, could still hear the despair in his voice extremely clearly.
