The Only Cultivator in a World of Hunters

Chapter 107: Seal Off the Scene

With decades of experience as an S-rank hunter, Mr. Wolf understood better than anyone that only monsters with a minimum strength of S-rank could cause strange incidents involving dungeons.

Even if humanity reached SS-rank or even SSS-rank, they still couldn’t do it because the initiative always belonged to hell.

Recalling the timeline, Mr. Wolf immediately realized there was a flaw in his deduction. This dungeon gate had appeared a few weeks before Mark awakened.

"Teleporting from outside into the dungeon without going through the gate, or does this dungeon have a passage connected to another dungeon? The first one seems more likely."

The more he analyzed it, the worse Mr. Wolf’s expression became. Being able to do something at this level definitely wasn’t the work of an S-rank monster.

Although S-rank monsters were extremely formidable, SS-rank was a completely different matter. It wasn’t because of an overwhelmingly huge difference in strength, but because their status was far greater.

Most SS-rank monsters were incarnations of some high-level entities of hell, unlike those monsters created from evil energy.

"How is an F-rank involved with so many high-level things?"

Looking at Mark lying helplessly among the corpses, Mr. Wolf couldn’t help but shake his head. Even though he was the mastermind behind Mark’s parents’ deaths, he had never intended to kill Mark.

Calling him a good person would be wrong, but calling him a bad person would be too shallow. More accurately, he lived by following the principles he believed were right.

In Mr. Wolf’s eyes, Mark really was an unlucky kid. He originally had the grudge of having his parents killed and his girlfriend stolen by the Wolf guild, but when he awakened, he only got an F-rank ability. Not long after awakening, he somehow became involved with some powerful entity of hell.

For an ordinary person, directly meeting an S-rank existence or above was already incredibly difficult, let alone having a closer relationship with or becoming hostile toward one. Yet this trashy F-rank like Mark, just counting roughly, was involved with at least two S-ranks and one SS-rank or even higher.

"Seal off the scene."

"Everyone below A-rank, leave this area immediately."

The sudden order from Mr. Wolf left everyone stunned for a few seconds. Most people didn’t know Mr. Wolf or weren’t his subordinates, so they didn’t react in time when they heard his order.

By the time everyone gradually understood, their foreheads were already drenched in sweat despite the weather being quite cool. For an S-rank like Mr. Wolf to become this anxious, it was definitely something that had reached the SS-rank level or higher.

The police, medical staff, dungeon gate supervisors, and many people doing other jobs hurriedly ran away.

Even if they weren’t ordinary people, they were still at the very bottom of the hunter world. Only a crazy person would want to get involved in a serious SS-rank problem.

This wasn’t about being cowardly or not, but because staying behind was completely meaningless. An SS-rank existence could easily sweep through the surrounding area for several miles with just one not-too-serious attack.

Mr. Wolf naturally didn’t just stand there and watch. He took out his phone and called the headquarters of the Hunter Association.

"Quickly call Peter over. This is an emergency. Bring a hunter with healing abilities of at least A-rank here."

He only said a few brief words without explaining much. The Hunter Association was professional enough to understand that a direct call from an S-rank hunter like him meant they had encountered a problem that even an S-rank might not be able to handle for sure.

---

In the central area of the Hunter Association headquarters, hundreds of people were being mentally tormented as they had to work while also trying to satisfy Ziz.

At the highest and most prominent place in the area, a new structure had recently been built. It was a tiny throne atop a stone pillar so high that whoever sat on it could see everyone in the area.

Ziz sat on the throne, looking down at the mortals below with contempt. The corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curl up in satisfaction as he enjoyed the feeling of being above everyone else.

"Hahaha, you lowly mortals did well. Continue bowing your heads before the greatness of the sky lord Ziz. Being able to see me is the greatest fortune of your lives. You should feel honored that I am giving you the chance to worship me."

Ziz’s smile gradually became less human... no, he had never been human in the first place. His annoying laugh could stretch the anger of all the hardworking hunters here to the limit.

There wasn’t a single person bored enough to bow before Ziz’s greatness as he imagined. Everyone here was bowing their heads to handle the enormous workload.

If Peter and White couldn’t arrange a bonus this time to compensate them for the mental damage, the whole bunch would definitely go on strike together. When they applied for the job, there was clearly nothing in the requirements about having to listen to Ziz torture their ears.

After hearing Mr. Wolf’s phone call, a young man immediately turned pale. He threw his phone onto the table and ran off at his fastest speed to find Peter. As he ran, he shouted loudly.

"Chairman! Emergency!"

His action made Ziz frown and look over. How dare a mortal run around shouting in front of the lord of the sky?

"You damn mortal, what are you yelling about? Quickly bow your head and worship this great sky lord Ziz."

Of course, with an emergency happening, no one was stupid enough to pay attention to Ziz’s ridiculous demands.

Being ignored by a mortal like that, Ziz immediately got angry. But Mark wasn’t facing any dangerous enemy right now, so Ziz couldn’t use his power.

"Hmph, since I am in a good mood, I will temporarily forgive your disrespect."

Even though he said that, Ziz’s adorable angry expression was plain for anyone to see.
