Seeing An Yunian’s expression, Han Wu realized that he had asked an inappropriate question. For the sake of the late God King of Darkness, he changed the subject. “On my way here, I noticed a large number of units from the Light Faction converging here. We need to move now.”

Everyone panicked. The failed divine war had already drained them. Being cornered on Paradise Island, the one place that suppressed them most, had pushed them to their limits. The fact that the Light Faction was closing in meant the entire Dark Faction was on the verge of truly being uprooted. If not for Han Wu’s warning, they wouldn’t have known until it was too late.

“Han Wu, please help the Dark Faction,” An Yunian pleaded. “As the future God King of Darkness, I will never forget this debt!”

Han Wu nodded. Although his primary goal was retrieving Su Lan, he also had the secondary one of rescuing the rest of the Dark Faction. It was naturally best if he could achieve both in one fell swoop.

“Then let’s not waste time. Do it now,” Han Wu said.

An Yunian activated his Shade Jurisdiction, and pure Dark Energy poured into his shadow, expanding it until it covered all the Dark Faction members. One by one, they sank into the shadows and entered the constructed space.

Finally, An Yunian stepped onto Han Wu’s shadow. His shadow merged with Han Wu’s, completing the attachment. The entire Dark Faction was now hitching a ride on Han Wu.

Han Wu had never seen a Divine Jurisdiction like this before. The Divine Civilization really was full of hidden talents. He called Jia Gui, and the two of them climbed back up through the tunnel.

The moment they surfaced, Han Wu sensed massive numbers of life forms closing in from every direction, combing the area for the Dark Faction’s hiding spot. Fortunately, they hadn’t found it yet.

Han Wu signaled Jia Gui to activate his Concealment Jurisdiction, perfectly masking their presence. The only drawback was that the shadow beneath him was far too large. Jia Gui couldn’t hide it completely with his level of mastery.

The resulting sight was bizarre. An enormous dark shadow zipped across an otherwise empty stretch of open ground.

Han Wu didn’t have the luxury of getting caught up in details like this. As long as he moved fast enough to clear the area before anyone could connect the dots, it wouldn’t matter.

Charging forward at full speed, he blew through the first line of Light Faction units in the blink of an eye. These were regular units with limited perception, so he easily slipped past without notice.

The real challenge was the second layer of Microcosm-rank black-cloaked fighters and Major Gods all actively scanning for the Dark Faction’s survivors.

Han Wu needed to be extra careful. Drawing on his Duel Jurisdiction, he activated his Duel God Physique. On top of that, he activated the True Martial Jurisdiction to supercharge his muscles for maximum explosive speed.

He took a deep breath, then launched himself forward at a full sprint with Jia Gui under his arm. Jia Gui clamped both hands over his mouth and nose, terrified that the sheer speed would force a sound out of him.

They punched through the second encirclement. The black-cloaked figures and the supervising Major Gods obliviously continued their search.

Han Wu sighed with relief. The greatest challenge was behind them. All that remained was clearing Paradise Island’s outer perimeter. Once they were off the island, Han Wu and the Dark Faction members could reconnect with their divine realms and summon their units. Their ability to defend themselves would skyrocket.

Maintaining top speed, Han Wu ran toward the island’s edge. The Dark Faction members sensed that they had cleared the encirclement from inside the shadow space and celebrated.

As far as they were concerned, the worst was over. As long as they made it out of Paradise Island, they could at least fight if the Light Faction’s forces discovered them.

An Yunian’s mood shifted the moment the danger passed. It was his Shade Jurisdiction that had made this escape possible. Without it, most of the people in this space would’ve been left in that cavern to die. This thought gave him a sense of superiority and power over everyone present.

He glanced at Su Lan. A single thought was all it would take to eject her from the shadow space. Forced out into the open, she would face one of two fates: be torn apart by Paradise Island’s native creatures or hunted by the Light Faction. Either way, she would die.

An Yunian’s lips curled. Today, he would make Su Lan submit.

“Su Lan!” he called out.

The Dark Faction members looked up in confusion. Why was he singling her out at a time like this?

“You said the Dark Faction dissolved after my father died. If you’re not a member of the Dark Faction, why should you enjoy the benefits of one? I’m a kind man, though. If you swear loyalty to me, I’ll let you stay in my shadow space. Otherwise... I don’t need to spell out what happens.”

Su Lan knew An Yunian was exploiting the situation to force her into submission, but she held her ground. After all, she hadn’t backed down from him before Han Wu arrived, and she certainly wasn’t about to start now.

“An Yunian, get this through your head. The person carrying everyone to safety right now calls me ma’am. Do you really think you’re in a position to threaten me?”

An Yunian scoffed. “Stupid woman. Han Wu calls you that because of your relationship with the Wisdom God King. He cares about Xu Hai, not you, whereas I’m the future master of the Dark Faction. I represent the entire faction. What’s one expendable woman compared to that?”

The surrounding Dark Faction members nodded along. The choice between an entire faction or a single woman was obvious.

“You have one choice: submit to me, or sever your relationship with the Dark Faction!”
