Jia Gui possessed the Concealment Jurisdiction. Although he hadn’t fully developed it, Han Wu believed that it was only a matter of time. Under the Concealment Jurisdiction’s effects, the Light Faction wouldn’t easily discover Jia Gui.

Besides, given Jia Gui’s sneaky personality, Han Wu figured that Elina deserved far more concern than Jia Gui did. He was only curious how long it would take Jia Gui to win Elina over now that Sun Qingnian had passed on everything he knew.

For now, Han Wu needed to continue focusing on cultivating his units and strive toward producing a Subcosm Mythic Titan. That was the foundation he truly needed to establish himself in the Divine Civilization and free himself from the threat of any faction.

At the same time, Han Wu had to continue strengthening himself. He couldn’t afford to slack off on developing his Divine Jurisdictions for even a moment.

Han Wu currently had two Divine Jurisdictions under development. One was the Slaughter Jurisdiction, which had reached seventy-two percent. The other was the minor Everchange Jurisdiction, which had reached fifty percent.

The Slaughter Jurisdiction advanced by killing numerous living beings. Han Wu needed to find the right timing and targets for that, so there was no rushing it.

On the other hand, the Everchange Jurisdiction was relatively easier to develop. He only needed to absorb the blood of various species to unlock their corresponding transformations and increase its progress.

Han Wu had already placed orders through the Divine Civilization’s trade network, and the deliveries wouldn’t take long to arrive. For the blood of rarer species that was hard to obtain, he logged into the Wealth Faction’s channel and used his authority to purchase it directly. With the Wealth Faction’s channels, those should arrive quickly too.

That said, Han Wu’s biggest headache was figuring out where to find leads on other Divine Jurisdictions once those two reached full development. He liked both of them, but he had no intention of becoming the God King of either.

He still needed to absorb other Divine Jurisdictions to continue his search and ultimately determine which one suited him best. He possessed plenty of abilities, so exploring as many paths as possible gave him the best chance of finding the right fit.

Just as Han Wu was debating whether to find a civilization to invade, he received a rare communication request from the Death God King. He was instantly excited.

The Death God King was, at least on the surface, the most powerful God King in the Divine Civilization. By all rights, having a connection to someone of his stature should have been a tremendous advantage.

The reality, however, was quite different. Ever since Han Wu joined the Death Faction and became the Holy Son of Death, nothing had changed. He occasionally provided the Death God King with rare materials to maintain their relationship, yet he rarely received any attention in return. The last time, even the Death God King had seemed to feel that his lack of reciprocity was hard to justify. As such, he had taught Han Wu the Stellar Plunder technique and explained the subdivisions of the World rank. After that, they went a long time without any further contact.

Han Wu eagerly accepted the Death God King’s communication request.

The Death God King’s voice came through from the other end. “Are you free lately? I need you to do something. If you’re not free, forget it.”

“I’m free! Where are you? I’ll come right now!”

Han Wu grabbed the opportunity without hesitation, determined not to let it slip away. After all, the Death God King was, at least publicly, the strongest figure in the Divine Civilization. Helping him with a small favor and gaining even a little guidance in return would benefit Han Wu for quite some time.

The Death God King said nothing more and sent Han Wu a set of coordinates. Han Wu immediately locked onto them and teleported through the Blood Coliseum’s portal.

Three minutes later, Han Wu arrived at the target location. It was a dead, silent planet. He spread out his senses across it and found not a single living being. It was as though the planet itself had died.

Just then, a voice called out, “Come here!”

Han Wu immediately followed the voice and quickly found the Death God King, who looked the same as ever. Four figures stood beside him.

Han Wu discreetly probed them with his senses, and the result startled him. Their auras were completely identical to the Death God King’s, as if five Death God Kings were standing there.

“Your strength has improved rapidly. You’ve grown a great deal,” the Death God King said.

“Thank you for the compliment, Your Majesty,” Han Wu replied, cold sweat forming on his forehead.

The more his own strength increased, the more keenly he understood just how terrifying the Death God King truly was. He even wondered whether the Death God King who had accompanied him to Imperial College to fight the Thirteen Guards had been the true self or merely one of his clones.

“I was concerned whether you were up to the task, but after seeing your strength, you’re qualified to accept my assignment,” the Death God King remarked.

He then got to the point, “Conflicts have been erupting across the Divine Civilization lately, and I’m fully aware of them. Many factions are restless.

“The War Faction, the Destruction Clan, and the Light Faction have already joined forces in secret. Once they absorb the spoils from the Dark Faction, they will most likely bring the Life Faction into their alliance and come after me.”

Han Wu hadn’t expected the Death God King to see through the Divine Civilization’s political landscape so clearly.

“Through Death Intuition, I’ve already deduced the truth behind the Dark God King’s demise. To avoid meeting the same fate, I need you to go to the White Soul Civilization and find a certain treasure for me,” the Death God King explained.

Han Wu’s expression turned serious. “I will absolutely complete the task, Your Majesty. I’m quite curious, though. The Dark God King was incredibly powerful. How did he fall so suddenly?”

The Death God King didn’t hide anything. “Apart from the Light Faction’s attacks, the key factor in his death was the Destruction Clan. They possess a treasure left behind by the Destruction God King. It has a ninety-nine percent kill rate against any living being. That’s what allowed them to kill the Dark God King in one strike.”

Han Wu was stunned. A ninety-nine percent kill rate was practically a death sentence. His own Destruction Aspect came with the Skull Guillotine Skill, and even that only had a twenty-five percent kill rate. On top of that, it consumed a massive amount of energy, so Han Wu would never use it unless absolutely necessary.

At the same time, one question puzzled him. If the Destruction Clan had something this powerful, why hadn’t they used it sooner? With it, no God Kings in the Divine Civilization would dare defy them.

The Death God King seemed to read Han Wu’s thoughts and added, “That treasure has usage restrictions and can only be activated a limited number of times. Otherwise, the Destruction Clan wouldn’t have kept such a low profile for so long.”

That explanation made sense to Han Wu. It wasn’t that the Destruction Clan didn’t want to flaunt their power. The circumstances simply wouldn’t allow it.

After thinking it through, Han Wu realized that if that treasure could truly be used without restrictions, he would have died the moment he refused the Destruction Clan’s demand to hand over the Giant Crest.

With that understanding, Han Wu steeled his resolve. He had to find the treasure capable of resisting a ninety-nine percent kill rate for the Death God King. If he found more than one, he would keep one for himself, just in case.
