Chapter 955 - Myriad Martial Castes

After leaving the Origin of Mutation’s lab, Han Wu’s head was still spinning. The former’s research was genuinely shocking. It was no wonder that the Divine River Civilization had chosen to seal him away. That decision had been an act of pure self-preservation.

If the Origin of Mutation had been allowed to spread his methods throughout the Divine River Civilization, its military power would have skyrocketed, but its reputation would have cratered. Every known civilization would have united to condemn it.

Han Wu pushed the thought aside and entered the Seclusion Space, devoting himself entirely to mastering his techniques and developing the True Martial Jurisdiction.

Inside the Seclusion Space, Han Wu and a host of avatars studied for thirty years, consuming 1.2 million Divine Essence. At last, he brought the True Martial Jurisdiction to full mastery. From then on, he could freely activate the True Martial Jurisdiction’s effect, the True Martial God Physique, which granted him a massive boost in physical attributes in an instant.

The Kunpeng Divine Art also underwent a transformation. With the True Martial Jurisdiction fully mastered and the fusion ability integrating multiple manuals into it, the Kunpeng Divine Art achieved a qualitative leap. It was no longer an incomplete technique. It had become a powerful fusion art, which Han Wu named the Leviathan Art.

When activated, the Leviathan Art could absorb every trace of ambient qi within a 500-kilometer radius. Paired with the Conversion Jurisdiction’s Energy Conservation effect, that qi could be directly converted into whatever form of energy Han Wu needed. In essence, it was an extraordinarily efficient method of energy recovery.

Han Wu was very satisfied.

With the True Martial Jurisdiction fully developed and no intention of ascending to become the True Martial God King, Han Wu moved on and absorbed the minor Everchange Jurisdiction he had earned through Life Sacrifice.

He slotted the Everchange Jurisdiction into the 567 Martial Castes ability. They were already similar in function, so once the merge was complete, they displayed the extreme compatibility that Han Wu had predicted.

The Everchange Jurisdiction’s mastery shot straight to fifty percent. At the same time, Han Wu sensed the 567 Martial Castes undergo a dramatic evolution into the Myriad Martial Castes.

He stilled his mind and studied the Myriad Martial Castes’ properties in detail. The Everchange Jurisdiction could absorb a drop of another race’s blood to unlock a transformation into that race. The Myriad Martial Castes could then preserve that transformation permanently and even fuse compatible weapons and equipment into it, ensuring Han Wu wouldn’t be left empty-handed or naked after shifting forms.

What could the two abilities accomplish together? Han Wu considered the question for a moment before inspiration struck.

He visited the Origin of Mutation and obtained a drop of Shengjun blood. After consuming it, he unlocked the Huang Shengjun transformation just as expected. He then used his Creation Aspect, spending divine power to fabricate a set of masked guard attire before putting it on.

The result was flawless. Han Wu looked more like Huang Shengjun than Huang Shengjun himself. He even summoned his units to test whether they could detect anything unusual. They nearly attacked him on sight, mistaking him for the real Huang Shengjun.

Although his appearance, aura, and soul frequency had all changed to match, one thing remained constant: the strands of Faith connecting him to his units. They could verify his identity through that bond. Outsiders, however, had no such link. They would never know the difference.

Han Wu realized he could easily pose as a masked guard and stroll right into the Light Faction’s territory.

Who knows what I may find? Just as the thought crossed his mind, he received a video call from Jia Gui. He answered and found Jia Gui surrounded by pitch darkness. The sound of dripping water echoed in the background.

Jia Gui was panicking. “Brother Han Wu, you have to come save me! The Light Faction’s people have cornered me in a cave. They’re pumping smoke inside to suffocate me!”

Han Wu demanded, “Where exactly are you? What did you do to make the Light Faction want to smoke you out?”

Before he could ask more questions, Jia Gui’s call abruptly disconnected. The signal had been blocked.

Han Wu immediately called Sun Qingnian for details. The latter told him to wait a moment while he looked into it.

A few minutes later, Sun Qingnian called back. “I got the full picture. Today is the day before the wedding of the Daughter of Light, Elina, and the Holy Son of Darkness, An Yunian. Jia Gui infiltrated the Light Faction, tracked down An Yunian, and ambushed him before he even realized Jia Gui was there. He stabbed him more than a dozen times, with every strike aimed at the groin.

“The blade was coated with some kind of soul toxin. According to our intel, even with the Light Faction’s healers treating him, the soul toxin has likely left An Yunian permanently incapable of functioning as a man.”

Han Wu sat back, stunned. Love really did drive people insane. Jia Gui, the most cowardly man alive, had charged straight into the Light Faction’s headquarters for the sake of love.

One thing puzzled Han Wu, though. If Jia Gui was going to act, why not finish the job and kill An Yunian outright? That would have solved the problem permanently.

After spending a long time looking at the situation from Jia Gui’s perspective, he finally understood. Jia Gui wanted An Yunian alive. He wanted him to serve as a warning to every man who ever thought about marrying Elina. With such an example before them, no one would dare try.

Once Han Wu grasped the reasoning, he clapped in admiration. Jia Gui’s thinking was ruthlessly clever. The immediate problem was that the Light Faction was hunting him. It sounded like they had deployed a spatial seal and a signal jammer around his hiding place.

Just as Han Wu was about to set out on a rescue mission, Sun Qingnian sent an update. Jia Gui had escaped. Members of the Light Faction had stormed the cave and found nothing but a freshly dug tunnel leading to an unknown destination. They were currently tracing the tunnel, but they believed that Jia Gui had already fled through it.

Han Wu couldn’t help giving a thumbs-up. Jia Gui’s survival instincts were on another level. The man always found a way out.

Shortly afterward, Jia Gui sent a message confirming that he was safe and telling Han Wu not to come. He planned to remain hidden within the Light Faction’s territory, making his love for the Daughter of Light known at every opportunity until she accepted him.

After ending the call, Han Wu couldn’t help but marvel. Jia Gui and the Concealment Jurisdiction were a match made in heaven. He could already picture what would happen. For the foreseeable future, Jia Gui would become a nightmarish stalker that Elina could never shake.

“Elina, being noticed by Jia Gui is going to make your life very difficult,” Han Wu muttered with a grin.

After that fiasco, Han Wu shelved his plan to infiltrate the Light Faction for the time being. With Jia Gui already lurking inside, the Light God King had more than enough on his plate.
