Chapter 1087 - Three Problems
Ambition was not a flaw in the eyes of the powerful Great Dragons. A strong drive pushed one to strive for better outcomes. If everyone followed the example of those lazy Great Dragons who refused to reproduce, the race would never progress.
Hence, Han Wu’s request didn’t put off the Nine-Faced Dragon God. On the contrary, it was intrigued. If Han Wu could truly solve the Great Dragon race’s problems, helping him become a Dragon Emperor would be a small price to pay.
“If you resolve all three problems, I’ll personally support your ascension to the fifth Dragon Emperor,” the Nine-Faced Dragon God said.
“Thank you, Lord Dragon God,” Han Wu replied, visibly delighted.
“Romantis, you’ll oversee this matter,” the Nine-Faced Dragon God instructed before Han Wu’s group departed.
The Jade Dragon Emperor nodded in acknowledgment.
Once they left the Nine-Faced Dragon God’s palace, the Dragon Emperors gathered around Han Wu. Could he really solve the three problems that had plagued their race for so long?
Han Wu smiled and kept his answer deliberately vague. “Just wait for the good news.”
He noticed the Battle Dragon Emperor’s expression shift. It looked like she was itching for a fight, so he bolted. If he’d been a second slower, he would’ve gotten a beating he couldn’t report to anyone.
The Jade Dragon Emperor hurried after him. It had brought Han Wu there, and the Nine-Faced Dragon God had tasked it with monitoring his progress. It had to be diligent.
After catching up, the Jade Dragon Emperor pressed Han Wu for details about his plan. The latter told it that such things couldn’t be rushed and that he needed time to think. Then he quietly asked the Jade Dragon Emperor about the Nine-Faced Dragon God’s face. The question had been nagging him ever since he’d laid eyes on it.
The Jade Dragon Emperor glanced around to ensure that no other dragons were nearby. “The God King of Destruction did that. If the Dragon God hadn’t fled fast enough, it would’ve lost its entire face.”
Han Wu’s jaw dropped. It was no wonder that the Nine-Faced Dragon God kept tabs on the God King of Destruction. It had been beaten so badly that the trauma still lingered.
It appeared that the former God King of Destruction had been extraordinarily powerful. It made sense that he’d been able to drive the entire Divine Civilization’s progress on his own.
With the gossip out of the way, it was time to get down to business. The Jade Dragon Emperor seriously asked Han Wu whether he had real solutions to the three problems.
Han Wu didn’t commit fully. “I’ll give it a try. Who knows? It might work.”
The Jade Dragon Emperor immediately deflated. It had been hoping for a guarantee.
Han Wu didn’t take offense and made a request instead. “Lord Dragon Emperor, could you find me a batch of mixed-blood dragons with decent intelligence?”
A hint of suspicion crossed the Jade Dragon Emperor’s face. “What do you want mixed-bloods for? The Dragon God wants the Great Dragon race’ birth rate to go up. No number of mixed-bloods would count toward that.
“And if you’re thinking of crossbreeding mixed-bloods with Great Dragons, forget it. We’ve tried that before. The offspring are still mixed-bloods. It doesn’t increase the Great Dragon population at all.”
“Thank you for the information, Lord Dragon Emperor. That’s not what I have in mind,” Han Wu quickly replied, “All I need is for you to gather mixed-blood dragons with reasonable intelligence.”
The Jade Dragon Emperor looked him up and down before giving in. “Fine. How many?”
“Not many. Ten million should be enough.”
The Jade Dragon Emperor scoffed. Mixed-blood dragons weren’t pure Great Dragons. Their reproduction and survival rates were far higher. Ten million was nothing.
That very day, it assembled 10 million mixed-blood dragons of varying power levels and settled them inside a decent-quality Microcosm.
Han Wu hadn’t expected such speed. Still, he happily accepted the Microcosm and its occupants. When he looked inside, he noticed that most were Dragonkin and Half-Dragons. Among the mixed-blood dragons, those two groups were considered relatively intelligent.
He summoned the Lightning Great Dragon King Bakir from his divine realm. Bakir had once been a Half-Dragon himself. Through Han Wu’s cultivation and a technique called Primalize, Bakir had purified his Great Dragon bloodline enough to evolve into a Lightning Great Dragon.
Even so, Bakir’s bloodline still wasn’t perfectly pure. He’d barely cleared the minimum threshold required to become a Great Dragon. Normally, dragons in that condition couldn’t reach the Dragon King rank. Bakir had only managed it thanks to the massive supply of pure Energy Stones that Han Wu had provided and the Golden Tree’s assistance.
For the vast majority of mixed-blood dragons, though, evolving into a Great Dragon even once in their lifetime would be the crowning achievement of their existence.
Han Wu’s plan was simple. He would have Bakir teach all 10 million mixed-blood dragons Primalize and get them to evolve into Great Dragons as fast as possible.
That would take time. Once he had made the necessary arrangements, Han Wu turned his attention to the second of the three problems: the giants. They regularly attacked the Great Dragons, and the dragons were sick of it.
The two sides had fought multiple wars, each of which ended only after both sides suffered devastating losses. Yet the root of the conflict between the races remained unclear. At least, the Great Dragons had no idea why the giants attacked them.
Thus, Han Wu had no choice but to investigate from the giants’ side. After reporting to the Jade Dragon Emperor, he flew beyond the walls of the Great Dragon territory and headed toward the giant territory.
Once he was far enough from the Great Dragons, Han Wu used Myriad Martial Castes to assume the form of a Mythic Titan. The disguise would help him blend in and avoid provoking hostility.
Han Wu pressed onward and entered the giant territory. Everything there was larger by orders of magnitude. The buildings were enormous, the trees towered overhead, and even the grass stood seven or eight meters tall. It all fit the giant aesthetic.
In his Mythic Titan form, Han Wu stood at a staggering 100,000 meters tall. Even in the land of giants, his height was impressive.
Among the giants, height equaled status. The taller you were, the purer your bloodline. As a result, the giants greeted Han Wu warmly upon his arrival and offered him food.
He picked up a small, dark-colored lump and popped it in his mouth. After a few chews, he spat it out in disgust. It was unbearably bitter, even worse than medicine.
Is this how the giants treat their guests?
