Chapter 950 - Clash of Formation Might
With tens of thousands of Microcosms feeding it energy, the crack in the Holy Radiant Shield sealed shut in moments, looking as good as new. The truth that had been dealt, however, wasn’t as easily undone.
Han Wu had just broken through the Light God King’s shield.
“He’s hurt. Finish him. Again!” Han Wu bellowed.
Steely and the Wrath War Tyrannosprite King charged their attacks again. Peerless in Han Wu’s hand reignited.
When the Light God King saw this, his expression turned grim. Han Wu had proven that he had the strength to kill him. For the sake of self-preservation, the Light God King chose not to risk it.
His gaze shifted to the masked guards behind him as he ordered, “Protect your king!”
Over a thousand masked guards radiating World auras leaped out of the Light Faction’s ranks. Han Wu already knew that every one of them was Huang Shengjun.
These Huang Shengjuns released their auras in unison. Energy surged upward, coalescing into a colossal Huang Shengjun projection. This was the War Faction’s technique, Formation Might, which concentrated the power of many into a single devastating attack.
The Huang Shengjun projection threw a punch. Its crushing pressure engulfed Han Wu, Steely, and the Wrath War Tyrannosprite King. Han Wu scrambled to switch techniques and threw up the Skyshell to block. The Skyshell dome shattered under the blow.
The Huang Shengjun formation immediately started gathering energy for a second strike, this time one that reached Subcosm rank and beyond. The collective strength of the group clearly outpaced any individual.
Han Wu decided to stop holding back. After all, he knew how to use Formation Might too.
Summoning his units, an endless swarm of locusts poured out of his Microcosms in staggering numbers, blanketing the sky above him and blotting out the light itself.
Locusts weren’t smart enough to learn Formation Might on their own. Fortunately, Han Wu had already figured out a workaround. He issued a command to all the locusts to summon their totems.
An army of Han Wus equal to the swarm of locusts materialized in the air. Copies of him carpeted the sky and ground alike.
The Light Faction and the Dark Faction all stared in disbelief. One Han Wu was already hard enough to deal with. An infinite army was beyond comprehension.
The Light God King’s expression was the grimmest of all. He had expected the masked guards to finish the job. Instead, he was now staring down an endless number of Han Wus. Between the Huang Shengjun army and the Han Wu swarm, the two sides were eerily similar.
Every Han Wu received the real Han Wu’s command and activated Formation Might. Their strength varied, and each totem could only attack once, but their sheer numbers and near-telepathic coordination produced an overwhelming surge of coordinated force. A titanic Han Wu projection took shape.
The Han Wu projection threw every ounce of power into a single punch aimed at the Huang Shengjun formation. It carried the combined energy of every locust and totem.
The blow landed. Only a handful of Huang Shengjuns positioned at the very edges survived. The rest were pulverized, their Formation Might crumbling along with them.
Energy spent, the Han Wu projection vanished, but he had achieved his goal of dismantling the entire thousand-strong Huang Shengjun legion. Han Wu had come out far ahead.
The Light God King couldn’t remember the last time somebody had pushed him this hard. However, as a true God King, he refused to give up, even with the Huang Shengjun corps destroyed.
If he couldn’t rely on his subordinates, that just meant he would have to handle it himself.
He stepped forward and appeared outside Paradise Island’s boundary. The terrain’s light-attribute bonus vanished, but in exchange, he gained access to the units in his Microcosms.
Legions of light-attribute creatures poured out of tens of thousands of Microcosms. With their massive collective faith fueling him, the Light God King revealed his true strength and fully unleashed his Light Jurisdiction.
[Effect 1: Spear of Victory. Anyone struck suffers purification of both body and spirit. Resisting purification costs over ten times the normal energy output. Accepting it implants a forced Light Faith.]
[Effect 2: Holy Radiant Shield. A shield inlaid with tens of thousands of Microcosms. The Light God King’s ultimate defense.]
[Effect 3: Radiant God Physique. A divine body capable of absorbing limitless Light Energy and releasing it in devastating bursts.]
[Effect 4: Lumen Aura. Emits a brilliant radiance that blinds the other life forms.]
Each effect was devastatingly powerful in its own right. With all four active, the Light God King was fighting at his absolute peak.
Han Wu narrowed his eyes against the pressure. Lumen Aura was already making his eyes sting. If not for his Jurisdictions protecting him, he would’ve gone temporarily blind.
The others weren’t as resilient. The former Dark Faction members lost their sight instantly. Even the concealed Jia Gui was blinded by the glare. Han Wu had no choice but to hide them all inside one of his Microcosms to keep them from becoming liabilities.
The Light God King’s greatest strength lay in his exhaustive mastery of Light Energy. He had fused Light Energy with his own Divine Points to a degree that made his attacks nearly impossible for Han Wu’s Conversion Jurisdiction to process in real time. Moreover, in this peak state, he approached the Mesocosm rank.
Han Wu could feel it before the first exchange. He was outmatched.
Still, being outmatched didn’t mean he would surrender. His title, Invictus, meant to win forever, and it was one he intended to keep. Even if he couldn’t win, he could at least force a tie.
In other words, running was the correct call. Running from a stronger opponent wasn’t shameful. It was far more dignified than getting ground up into dirt. Fleeing, of course, also required some technique. He had to move fast, watch every angle, and above all, guard against a cheap shot.
Han Wu stared down the Light God King through slitted eyes and started backing away, offering no opening.
The Light God King wasn’t about to let him leave. He charged forward, the Spear of Victory spinning through a dazzling array of thrusts aimed at every vital point.
Han Wu had combat experience. Between that, his Duel God Physique, and the incomplete True Martial God Physique, he could keep up for a while.
At that moment, Steely’s Obsidrum Judgment finished charging up.
