Chapter 2414 - 2407: Dragon Encircling the Body
Wang Dadong immediately rushed to carriage number seven. Shortly after he left, Joanna and Mi Xue also headed there.
Upon arriving at carriage seven, Wang Dadong saw many people surrounding a woman holding a child, who was sobbing. A man wearing glasses was examining the boy and after a moment, shook his head and said, "The child’s temperature is 42 degrees, his breathing is weak, and his heart rate is very low. It’s dangerous!"
"Doctor, please save my child," the woman cried.
"The main issue is the infected abscess on the child’s chest, which is very severe and requires immediate surgery, but the conditions on the train are too poor for surgery," the man with glasses said helplessly.
"Make way, make way, the doctor is here!" Jack shouted loudly before Wang Dadong could push through the crowd.
People immediately made a path, looking at the proud and aloof female doctor, Wang Dadong thought, let’s see what this overseas-educated woman can do. He stood aside with his arms crossed, playing the role of a bystander.
Joanna’s arrival stunned quite a few people.
The man with glasses stood up excitedly and asked, "May I ask if you are Miss Joanna?"
"I am," Joanna replied with a slight nod.
The man was even more excited and said to everyone, "You probably don’t know, but this Miss Joanna is a renowned doctor in America and has won the Lasker International Medical Award."
Everyone looked at the man with glasses in confusion, seemingly unaware of what the Lasker International Medical Award was, but it sounded impressive.
"It’s the highest medical award besides the Nobel Prize!" Jack boasted, as if he himself had won it.
"Miss Joanna, I didn’t expect to meet you here. You’ve always been my idol. I wonder if you could sign an autograph for me," the man said respectfully, as if he were seeing a divine figure.
"We’ll talk about the autograph later. Let me first see the child," Joanna said calmly.
"Doctor Joanna will definitely cure the child’s illness!" The man was almost fanatically admiring Joanna.
Wang Dadong finally understood why Mi Xue was so excited to see Joanna. In the eyes of doctors, Joanna was no different from a celebrity to ordinary people.
After the man’s description, people seemed to understand that this young and beautiful female doctor had an extraordinary background. Especially the child’s mother nearly knelt before Joanna.
When Joanna saw the abscess on the child’s chest, she exclaimed in surprise, "Dragon wrapping disease!"
"What dragon wrapping disease?" the man with glasses asked in confusion.
"It’s a very terrifying abscess. If I’m not mistaken, once you undress the child, you will see a circle of malignant rashes around his waist, aside from the chest area!"
The man quickly undressed the child, and sure enough, there was a dense circle of rashes around the child’s waist.
"Wow, Doctor Joanna truly is a divine doctor. Just one look, and she knows what’s wrong with the child," the crowd marveled.
"Once dragon wrapping disease completely encircles the waist, even an immortal can’t save them! Quickly look to see how far the rashes have developed," Joanna said nonchalantly. She had received enough honors in America, so the admiration from the few people in the train could no longer satisfy her.
However, Mi Xue, full of envy, looked at Joanna. Being recognized and approved by people was a tremendous honor for a doctor, something she had never experienced.
The man immediately began checking the child’s waist and found the rashes nearly encircled the entire waist.
"Oh no, it’s fully encircled..."
"Dragon wrapping disease results from an outbreak of internal fire poison, and this abscess, with the waist fully encircled, means the abscess internally connects to the heart. This child is beyond saving..." Joanna shook her head, proclaiming the child’s death sentence.
"What? My child won’t die, please save my child," the woman pleaded sorrowfully.
Joanna showed a sadness on her face, "If it had been discovered a few hours earlier, there might have been hope. Now..."
"Is there any other doctor?" the conductor asked urgently, scanning the surroundings.
"No need to look for other doctors. Sister Anna is a medical doctor. If she says there’s no hope, then there’s definitely none," Jack stated.
"Exactly, if Doctor Joanna can’t save the child, then no one can," the man with glasses agreed.
"My poor child!" The woman cried even more fiercely.
The atmosphere in the carriage turned somewhat mournful, as nobody expected such a young child to lose his life.
"Hey, is our medical doctor really stumped by such a minor illness?" Wang Dadong suddenly remarked with a smile, just as everyone was shaking their heads in regret.
"Hmph, stop talking nonsense. Dragon wrapping disease is no minor illness. Even Sister Anna only has a few chances of curing it," Jack frowned and said.
"Doctor, can you save my child? Please, save my child," hearing Wang Dadong’s words, the woman seemed hopeful again, begging him.
Wang Dadong shook his head, "I can’t."
"Why speak up if you can’t do anything."
"Exactly, isn’t this just fooling people!"
Wang Dadong’s words immediately drew a lot of dissatisfaction.
Wang Dadong didn’t care in the slightest, he still stood there leisurely with his arms crossed over his chest, and said slowly, "I can’t cure the child, but my teacher can."
"Your teacher can cure him?"
"Who is your teacher?"
As soon as Wang Dadong finished his words, people started searching around the carriage.
Mi Xue, standing nearby, looked at Wang Dadong with some confusion. She didn’t know his teacher was on the train.
Seeing Mi Xue’s confused expression, Wang Dadong smiled and said, "You can cure this child’s illness, right, teacher."
Hearing Wang Dadong’s words, Mi Xue realized he was referring to her as the teacher, almost jumping up in surprise. Since when did she become his teacher?
Besides, if Joanna couldn’t cure it, how could she, a mere physician, possibly succeed?
"Wang Dadong, what a joke, even Sister Anna can’t cure it, how can I?" Mi Xue said quietly through gritted teeth.
"Doctor, please save my child!" The woman fell to her knees before Mi Xue, bowing repeatedly.
All eyes in the carriage turned to Mi Xue.
Mi Xue stomped anxiously; she really felt that this guy had gotten her in a terrible situation.
Wang Dadong always liked to joke around, she knew that, but never in her wildest dreams did she think he’d joke like this, making her lose face like never before.
