Chapter 60: Olivia??
The three siblings found themselves back at the reception area, with Liam facing the receptionist who had led them to Ada’s lab earlier.
"You’re back," the receptionist said with a smile, though she did think that they took longer than they were supposed to; she chose not to say anything.
"I’d like to get her enrolled at the Hero Academy," Liam said.
They had already discussed it on the way there, and Lea had decided to join the HA rather than pursue a career in a hospital or somewhere much safer.
As much as Liam wanted her to remain safe, he had promised that he’d support whatever decision she made, so all he could do was to ensure she remained safe...even as a hero.
"R-right, let me get someone you can guide you," the secretary said as she picked up a phone by her side, about to make the call when a voice came from behind Liam.
"Don’t worry, Maeve, I’ll guide them there," the person said.
Liam, without turning around, knew exactly who it was, and he could only let out an exhausted sigh.
"V-Volt?" The secretary stuttered out, more so due to the fact that a high-ranking hero knew her name rather than her being nervous.
Eli immediately turned around with excitement, and stars seemed to appear in the kid’s eyes as they rested on a hero in a blue bodysuit and a high-tech visor.
"Volt!" the kid let out.
"Hey kid," Volt said with a smile as he crouched down, "are you the one joining the Hero Academy?"
"No," Eli shook his head as he gestured to Lea, "that’d be my sister."
"But I’ll also become a hero one day," he added, causing the hero to ruffle his hair, "that’s great."
"Hmm." Eli nodded again, "I want to save people, just like you saved us at the school."
"Is that so?" Volt asked as his smile widened, "Then keep that energy, kid. I’m sure you’ll make a great hero."
Unlike them, who were only interested in what the crowd thought of them....but he didn’t say that part out loud.
Volt finally stood back up and looked at Liam before saying, "I knew it was you, kind citizen."
"..."
Liam’s expression was completely blank.
Given the speedster hero’s personality, the hitman was certain that he would’ve forgotten about him by now, but it seems he was wrong.
"You know him?" Lea asked as she looked at her big brother.
But before Liam had the chance to say anything, Volt spoke up, "he helped me at the mall yesterday."
Liam feigned an expression of realization as he said, "You’re that exhibitionist?"
"..." A blush immediately appeared on Volt’s cheeks before he quickly cleared his throat and said, "n-no, I-I mean I wasn’t trying to be an exhibitionist; it’s just that I ran too fast in my normal clothes rather than my suit."
Although he tried his hardest to explain, Volt could feel the admiration that the kids had for him slowly shattering.
"Anyway," he quickly tried changing the topic, "I’ll lead you to where you can get her registered for the Hero Academy."
Liam would’ve preferred if someone else led them there, but since the hero was already here, then they might as well go with him.
"Alright," the hitman nodded as he gestured for the hero to lead the way.
Volt turned back to Eli and asked, "Would you like a ride, little man?"
The kid immediately nodded with excitement, and the hero then turned towards Liam, who simply nodded.
As far as he knew, Volt seemed to have some sort of aura around him while he ran, an aura responsible for rendering all the laws of physics null whenever he ran.
And that aura would extend to whatever or whomever he was touching; hence, the reason why the civilians he rescued didn’t immediately turn to paste.
So the hitman was certain that his younger brother was going to be safe.
Also, despite being a showman, Volt was quite the kind hero, so Eli would be fine.
"Maeve will give you the location and a pass," Volt said as he picked Eli up, "we’ll be waiting for you there."
With that, the speedster hero suddenly disappeared, leaving a blast of wind in his wake.
"Will Eli be fine?" Lea asked as she looked at Liam.
"Hmm," He nodded, turning back to Maeve.
The secretary handed him the pass they needed and shared the location with Liam’s phone.
"Thank you," the hitman said as he took the pass and walked with his sister towards the car outside.

It took Liam and Lea a couple of minutes to reach the inner parts of the HA; this side was a lot more secure than the outer part.
Liam spent another few minutes having his identity verified, even with the pass he had been granted.
But that was to be expected; after all, it was the only reason why villains hadn’t infiltrated this place yet, even though the island was technically open to the public.
Liam calmly drove through, and it didn’t take them long to reach the building on the map and waiting outside were Eli and Volt.
The kid somehow had a Bolt figurine in his hand and a blue cotton candy with streaks all over it in the other.
It was obvious that the hero had spent the last few minutes trying to salvage the admiration the kid had for him,
Especially after the kid’s older brother just called him an exhibitionist.
"Big brother!" The kid let out in excitement as he spotted the car.
He then waved excitedly before holding up the blue cotton candy in his hand, "Look what Volt bought me!"
"How cool," Liam responded before looking at the hero, then saying, "I won’t be mentioning your exhibitionist tendencies anymore."
"I wasn’t naked!" Volt defended, "My clothes were just burnt in a couple of places."
"Alright," Liam simply nodded, but his expression told that he didn’t believe a word of what the hero just said.
"Shall we head in?" Volt quickly said, and the three simply nodded.
But before they could go in, Liam suddenly stopped in his tracks, looked in a certain direction and called out,
"Olivia??"
