Chapter 756 - 705: Are You Threatening Me? (1)
"Snooping around?"
Would I, the Heavenly Venerate, stoop to peeking at a little slip of a girl like you?
In response to the furious, teeth-gritting words of Su Aiyu, who resembled an angry tigress, Qin Fan shook his head with an amused, noncommittal smile.
"Anyone with even a passable IQ could have guessed it, right?" he said, even shrugging theatrically, his face full of mockery.
"You son of a bitch, are you saying your IQ is high and everyone else’s is failing?"
Facing Qin Fan’s mocking demeanor, the violent streak in Su Aiyu’s genes began to stir restlessly once again. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth, restraining her explosive anger.
"If that’s how you want to interpret it, then you’re not wrong! That’s more or less what I mean," Qin Fan said with a laugh, as if he had seen right through her. "What? Are you going to shout it out loud so I become a public enemy and get swarmed by everyone? Go ahead! Be my guest!"
At his words, her angry face suddenly flushed red.
Su Aiyu had indeed been thinking just that, hoping to use the opportunity to incite the crowd against Qin Fan and watch him get mobbed. But now that he had so bluntly exposed her thoughts, an embarrassment like a thief caught in the act uncontrollably crept onto her face. At the same time, she dismissed the idea. His blatant indifference made it clear he couldn’t care less.
Even though Su Aiyu didn’t know the source of his confidence, she ultimately discarded her self-righteous plan.
"Hmph!"
Unable to come up with any retort to Qin Fan’s words, Su Aiyu could only snort coldly. The frustration she had just vented began to well up in her heart again, but she didn’t continue the confrontation.
She strode past Qin Fan and returned to her seat. However, her heavy, ragged breathing betrayed her inner turmoil.
But Qin Fan couldn’t be bothered with her any longer. As long as she didn’t provoke him, everything was fine. He had no intention of further enraging this unruly tigress.
Without delay, at the scheduled time, and amidst the silent battle of wills between Qin Fan and Su Aiyu, the plane landed smoothly at Beijing Airport.
Not in any hurry to return to Jinling, Qin Fan disembarked without even sparing Su Aiyu a glance, striding purposefully down the airport corridor.
However, just because he ignored Su Aiyu didn’t mean she was willing to let him off the hook.
Feeling Su Aiyu following him relentlessly, step for step, Qin Fan abruptly stopped in the airport terminal and turned around with a cheerful expression.
His sudden turn caught her completely off guard, and she walked right into him.
"Ouch!" Su Aiyu exclaimed, reflexively covering her nose.
"Asshole!" she yelled, looking up at him through clenched teeth.
"Is this necessary?" Shaking his head, Qin Fan’s playful tone was gone, replaced by a cool indifference.
Instead of resorting to a childish excuse like, "You don’t own the airport," Su Aiyu said, "As a police officer, I find your movements suspicious! I’m simply fulfilling my professional duty. Is there a problem?"
"The duty of setting up a honey trap?" Qin Fan’s lips curled into a sarcastic smirk.
"You bastard, you’re slander—"
Before Su Aiyu could finish, Qin Fan cut her off. "I don’t have time to waste on this nonsense with you! I hope you remember one thing: don’t fucking provoke me endlessly!"
Without waiting for her to respond, he leaned in close to her ear and continued, "I killed He Haolin, and I can deal with you just as easily. I slaughtered the son of a top official without a second thought. Do you really think I care about your status as a policewoman?"
"Are you threatening me?"
Though her delicate body trembled, Su Aiyu didn’t back down. Instead, she stared at Qin Fan and snorted defiantly.
"No, this isn’t a threat. I’m simply stating a fact. My patience is limited, so stop following me! Otherwise, I guarantee it will be a nightmarish choice. Understand?"
As he finished speaking, Qin Fan unexpectedly reached out and pinched her chin. With a meaningful smile, and before Su Aiyu could erupt in fury, he released her, turned, and walked away.
She stood frozen in place, an inexplicable chill rising from the depths of her heart. Watching his figure recede into the distance, Su Aiyu swallowed hard several times. Driven by reason, she chose not to follow him any further.
You son of a bitch, just you wait! Just you wait! Heaven’s net is vast, and it lets nothing escape. No matter how powerful your backing is, one day you’ll fall into my hands, and no one will be able to save you! I swear I will bring you to justice!
Her fists clenched tightly, and an unintentional pallor appeared on Su Aiyu’s furious, beautiful face as she gritted her teeth and muttered to herself. And she truly had the capital to make such a statement.
「At the same time.」
Outside the airport, an imposing middle-aged figure stood motionless at the exit, his gaze fixed on the passengers emerging from within. His extraordinary aura and statue-like posture immediately drew countless sideways glances.
No one would have guessed, nor would they have dared to, that this was a man who could enter any part of the Forbidden City just by showing his face.
The middle-aged man was Hua Xiaotian.
He had come to pick up Qin Fan.
Even as he made the decision, his rational mind screamed at him not to take such a reckless, life-endangering gamble.
But in the end, he had come anyway. He had come without telling anyone, not even Qin Fan.
His unmoving eyes scanned in all directions. His unmoving ears listened intently to his surroundings.
When the aura, one so familiar he could never forget it, appeared in his senses, Hua Xiaotian jolted.
In that instant, his breathing became ragged.
He didn’t know what kind of situation would unfold when he faced Qin Fan. He had no idea what fate awaited him.
Yet, he steeled his resolve once more.
After all, this was something he had to face sooner or later. He just wanted a quick resolution, a release for his tormented soul.
Before long, guided by that aura, a face that was a mixture of flippancy, lingering youthfulness, and a hint of world-weariness came into view.
He didn’t rush forward excitedly.
Forcing his breathing to steady, Hua Xiaotian stared intensely at the emerging figure, his eyes not leaving Qin Fan for a single second.
At the same time, Qin Fan also sensed that something was off. The moment he saw Hua Xiaotian appear, a wildly arrogant aura surged from him, belying the smile on his face.
Though genuinely surprised by Hua Xiaotian’s appearance, he still approached the man with that intimidating, devilish smile that made Hua Xiaotian shudder.
With each step, the distance between them shrank.
Despite Hua Xiaotian’s best efforts to control himself, he couldn’t stop his heart from hammering wildly in his chest.
At this moment, he didn’t seem like the Gang Realm Master who struck fear into the Huaxia Martial Arts World.
He was more like a guilty schoolboy who had been caught doing something wrong.
