Chapter 757 - 706: Foolish, Intolerably Stupid! (2)
"I must say, your courage to stand here is beyond my imagination."
He stopped before Hua Xiaotian. Sensing the fear conveyed through the man’s ragged breathing, Qin Fan smiled faintly.
"Master Qin, I’m sorry!" Not avoiding Qin Fan’s gaze, Hua Xiaotian took a deep breath and gritted his teeth.
"Sorry for what?" Qin Fan curled his lips in a mocking sneer. "That I didn’t die at the hands of the Wolf King and Geman? I guess you’re all disappointed, aren’t you? Hmm, if nothing unexpected happened, the Forbidden City must be in an uproar. To be honest, I’m rather disappointed in their courage. Returning on a passenger plane was such a perfect opportunity. Why didn’t they use a cruise nuclear missile to make me perish at ten thousand meters? Was it mercy? An unwillingness to let hundreds of passengers become my collateral damage? Or were they just scared? Scared enough to only resort to the scheme of killing by proxy?"
WHOOSH!
A chill shot up from the soles of Hua Xiaotian’s feet to the crown of his head, and a look of sheer terror surged uncontrollably across his face.
"What? Did I hit the nail on the head?" Qin Fan sneered maliciously, seeing the expression on Hua Xiaotian’s face.
He had. Qin Fan’s words described exactly what the Forbidden City had considered.
A sudden surge of fear washed over Hua Xiaotian, accompanied by the sheer relief of having survived a catastrophe.
The fact that Qin Fan would even say such a thing proved he was already prepared for a nuclear missile strike! Yet he still chose to fly, fully expecting an attack. What did that mean? It meant he didn’t give a damn about their so-called nuclear missiles! He didn’t see them as a threat at all! If... if the Forbidden City had really resorted to such measures, what would the result have been? A bloody purge of the Forbidden City by Qin Fan? That would be the best-case scenario! A vengeful Qin Fan would probably treat all life as sacrificial lambs. Heaven and Earth would be rendered cruel, and the world would be plunged into misery—that would become the reality of this society!
As these thoughts cascaded through his mind, layers of cold sweat drenched Hua Xiaotian. The chilling terror blanched his incredibly resolute face.
"Master Qin, I don’t want to offer any more explanations. I understand that any explanation would be a pale and futile effort. I owe you not just a favor, but my life. They say what goes around comes around. I don’t regret what I did, because my position demanded that I confront it, even knowing it could lead to an abyss of no return. At the very least, it would create a Heart Demon of guilt to haunt me for life, but I couldn’t run from it. Standing here now, I have accepted my fate. I’m not naive enough to hope for forgiveness; I just want to be held accountable for my actions. Kill me or cut me to pieces, I am at your mercy.
"And though I won’t make excuses, I feel I must state one thing: this matter has nothing to do with the Forbidden City! Even if it did, it never reached the point of them betraying and selling you out. I was the instigator, the main culprit! I’m not saying the Forbidden City is blameless, but the common people are innocent!"
As Hua Xiaotian finished speaking, Qin Fan suddenly burst into roaring laughter. "Haha! Hahaha!" His laugh was laced with sorrow, disappointment, mockery, and scorn.
"Hua Xiaotian, oh Hua Xiaotian, is this the accountability you offer me? Do you really think I’m too stupid to follow basic logic? I know you’re desperate to protect your masters, but if I truly wanted to kill, do you think sacrificing yourself would be enough to quell this storm? Foolish. Utterly foolish! Since you’re so damn eager to die, I’ll be happy to oblige!"
His voice roared with disappointment. With that, to the astonishment of the countless onlookers, Qin Fan violently kicked out at Hua Xiaotian! The spectators saw only a blur. Before they could process what had happened, Hua Xiaotian was sent flying like a kite with a severed string, crashing violently into a car more than ten meters away.
BOOM!
The alarm of the sturdy Ford SUV shrieked to life. Every window on the vehicle shattered from the force of the impact, and Hua Xiaotian’s body sank deep into the caved-in roof.
A sweet taste welled up in his throat.
SPURT!
A mouthful of Gang Realm Essence Blood sprayed uncontrollably from his mouth.
With the sound of creaking and clanging metal, Hua Xiaotian gritted his teeth against the waves of pain, struggled to turn over, and rolled off the car’s roof. Bracing himself with one hand on the ground, he slowly pushed himself back to his feet.
He then began to stagger back toward Qin Fan. Even with his Gang Realm physique, he had been gravely injured by that single kick.
Yet he knew Qin Fan had held back. If he hadn’t, even if he’d survived by some miracle, he would never have been able to stand again.
In the distance, Su Aiyu, who had witnessed the entire scene, froze in shock. A moment later, a towering rage fueled by an overflowing sense of justice erupted within her.
In broad daylight, this bastard dared to use such violence against an innocent citizen? That motherfucker! This is utterly intolerable!
The righteous mission of a police officer flooded her entire being. Unleashing the speed that let her run a hundred meters in twelve seconds, she took off, her long legs pumping as she charged straight for Qin Fan.
"You son of a bitch! I told you not to fall into my hands! Now, with witnesses, physical evidence, and surveillance footage, you can’t escape!" Su Aiyu couldn’t help but roar as she closed in. She immediately leaped into the air, executing a takedown maneuver aimed at Qin Fan.
Although she knew she was no match for him, she charged forward recklessly. If asked why, the answer was a single word: Justice. Yes, justice. Little did she know that in Qin Fan’s eyes, her so-called justice was nothing but bullshit.
Without even glancing at Su Aiyu, a chilling look appeared on Qin Fan’s cold, stern face.
"Little girl, stop! Don’t do it!"
Across the way, Hua Xiaotian, dragging his faltering body forward, bellowed in panic when he saw Su Aiyu’s attack. His staggering pace quickened.
Qin Fan is clearly enraged. For this girl to unleash her so-called sense of justice at such a critical moment is tantamount to suicide!
However, Hua Xiaotian’s desperate cry went unheeded. How could Su Aiyu, who was already heavily biased against Qin Fan, abandon her righteous indignation over a single shout? Besides, her animosity was so strong that she didn’t even register what Hua Xiaotian had yelled.
WHOOSH!
In the blink of an eye, her attack was a mere inch from Qin Fan.
