Chapter 733 - 683: Crawl Over Here! (4)
The Gu that burst forth from Miao Yingjie’s body were like a swarm of locusts. In the blink of an eye, they pounced on the Medicine Valley members, who were completely unprepared for his sudden assault.
Many, still in shock from the conversation between Miao Yingjie and Yao Junxian, were caught squarely in the attack. The Gu swarmed into their nostrils, mouths, and ears. Except for Yao Junxian, not one of the more than a dozen Medicine Valley members in the council hall escaped the calamity.
"AH!"
"AHH!"
"AAAHHH!"
Piercing screams erupted from their throats as the Gu burrowed inside. Despite possessing abilities at the Transformation Realm or even the peak of Dark Energy, they were helpless against Miao Yingjie’s Gu. It wasn’t that their formidable Cultivation was incapable of resisting a few mere insects; rather, the Gu created by the Miao Clan’s secret techniques were their natural predators. Otherwise, how could a self-proclaimed orthodox power like Medicine Valley ever have dealings with the Gu Clan?
For years, Medicine Valley had desperately tried to solve this problem, which remained a latent, fatal threat. But they never anticipated it would erupt so quickly and suddenly, leaving them so unprepared they couldn’t even think of a countermeasure.
"Miao Yingjie! Are you out of your fucking mind?! Are you?! Do you really want to force Medicine Valley and your Gu Clan into a fight to the death?" Watching his core team suffer the torment of the Gu invasion, Yao Junxian could no longer hold back his furious roar. The kindly face he always presented was now twisted into a rare, ferocious scowl. To him, Miao Yingjie had crossed the line.
"A fight to the death? Hahaha! Does Medicine Valley even have what it takes to fight to the death with me? Yao Junxian, I’m fucking asking you one last time! Are you going to lend me the Spiritual Medicine Garden or not!" Laughing maniacally, Miao Yingjie slammed his foot into the ground as he finished speaking.
BOOM!
The tables and chairs in the council hall were sent flying, and in an instant, the room was a complete mess. While Yao Junxian had been pushed to his limit, Miao Yingjie’s patience had also run out.
"You also want to borrow the Spiritual Medicine Garden?"
Just as Yao Junxian stood dumbfounded by Miao Yingjie’s outrageous words, a lazy voice tinged with indifferent mockery floated from behind Miao Yingjie.
Hearing this voice, Miao Yingjie shuddered involuntarily. Though it was only a few short words, and though it had been several months since he last heard it, he could never forget it—nor did he dare. Trembling all over, he didn’t respond immediately, but his expression changed drastically.
Not him! Please, not him! It can’t be! he prayed desperately in his heart.
After three seconds of dazed shock, he slowly turned around, his body shaking uncontrollably. That simple turn seemed to freeze time itself. As he faced the source of the voice, an eternity seemed to pass. Miao Yingjie’s previous arrogant bravado was completely gone, his face as pale as a frightened kitten’s.
SWOOSH!
But no matter how slowly time seemed to move, the turn eventually completed. When Miao Yingjie finally saw the face behind him, his legs began to tremble uncontrollably, and a terrified gulp echoed from his throat.
"You want to borrow the Spiritual Medicine Garden?" Qin Fan asked again, a harmless smile on his face as he watched Miao Yingjie’s panicked expression.
"Ma-Ma-Master!"
Had Qin Fan spoken in any other tone, Miao Yingjie might not have been so utterly distraught. But hearing that gentle voice, like a soft spring breeze, his inner arrogance and pride completely collapsed. The memory of the overwhelming methods Qin Fan had used to crush the Miao Clan like ants replayed frantically in his mind. The awe instilled deep in his very bones erupted in an instant. Staring at that smiling face, he stammered out the word, "Master."
"The Spiritual Medicine Garden is temporarily in my possession," Qin Fan said, his eyes calm and his smile relaxed, devoid of any anger. "Tell me, do you still want it?"
Temporarily in his possession? Hearing those words, Miao Yingjie lost all control of his body. His legs buckled.
THUD!
He knelt heavily before Qin Fan.
"Master, no, no, no!" Pale-faced, Miao Yingjie shook his head violently, calling out in panic.
"Come here," Qin Fan called out with a laugh, looking down at the kneeling man.
"Yes, yes, yes!" Swallowing nervously, Miao Yingjie repeatedly agreed and scrambled to his feet.
However, before he could steady himself, Qin Fan mocked him scornfully, "Did I say you could stand?"
THUD!
At Qin Fan’s words, Miao Yingjie reflexively dropped to his knees again. The sound echoed loudly throughout the council hall.
At this point, influenced by Miao Yingjie’s emotional turmoil, the Gu inside the Medicine Valley members ceased their torment. As their pain subsided, they were finally able to breathe, and they watched in horror as the scene unfolded. They saw Miao Yingjie kneeling on the ground, head bowed, trembling uncontrollably. It was a display of utter terror.
"Crawl over here," Qin Fan commanded indifferently, ignoring the others as he stared down at Miao Yingjie.
"Yes, Master!"
He didn’t resist; he didn’t dare to. The reply was instantaneous. Miao Yingjie got on all fours and began inching his way toward Qin Fan.
Just as he reached Qin Fan and opened his mouth to speak, Qin Fan suddenly lifted his foot without warning. Quick as a flash of lightning, he kicked out fiercely.
BOOM!!!
The kick slammed squarely into Miao Yingjie’s jaw. The next second, his entire kneeling body was launched high into the air. He flew backward toward the center of the council hall, finally crashing down hard on the conference table.
With a violent CRACK, the table shattered into pieces upon impact.
"Crawl over here," Qin Fan repeated in an indifferent tone, watching Miao Yingjie writhing reflexively amidst the wooden splinters.
Miao Yingjie spat out a mouthful of thick blood. With his jaw now clearly dislocated, he didn’t dare to hesitate. After mumbling an incoherent "yes," he began to crawl again. He moved through the sharp splinters, seemingly indifferent to the pain of the shards piercing his flesh, making his way back toward Qin Fan.
He left a trail of blood over the ten-odd meters.
In the deathly quiet council hall, the once-arrogant and triumphant Clan Leader of the Gu Clan now looked like a beaten stray dog. Inch by inch, he crawled before Qin Fan once more.
