The Rise of the Iron Wall!

Chapter 821: Do They Even Stand a Chance Against Bayern Munich?

The atmosphere was quite gloomy at the Berger Feld, the complete opposite of yesterday. The players could be seen being so quiet, watching their own phones with a big frown on their faces. Some even let out a small, helpless sigh, as if what came next for them was a mountain that was impossible to climb.

Well, to some extent, they were right.

Hell, even Higo himself had his brows furrowed deeply, clearly getting bothered by this schedule. Even though he had a good game the last time the boy fought against Bayern Munich, he knew that the situation was different this time.

Yeah, Bayern Munich today was different than a few months ago. Now, they had just come back with a treble winner on their bag, and more than that, their striker, Robert Lewandowski, had just broken all the records in this league for the top scorer, scoring 42 goals in one season for Bayern Munich.

The man had an average of 1.3 goals per game, and somehow, his last encounter against Higo ended up with him being sealed off. It was clear that the Polish striker was in the best spirits, wanting to break through Higo's goal as much as possible.

Thinking about this, Higo just rubbed his forehead, finding himself with a big headache.

"What the hell do I need to do to stop him?" He murmured; his tone was a mix of frustration and curiosity.

"Well, I don't think you can." Someone suddenly spoke behind him.

When Higo turned around, he saw the trio of new veterans on the team, Huntelaar, Kolasinac, and Stambouli, walking alongside each other. It seemed that the goalkeeper mumbled his thoughts out loud unconsciously, enough for those three to hear his concern.

"What do you mean I cannot stop him?" Higo frowned, not liking the bluntness here.

"It is exactly what I said. They are the best team in the world, the most fearsome frontline in the world, and honestly, if you managed to stop them, you will be a living legend in the football community immediately. Hell, I think that Barcelona would try to contact you after that. I mean, they must be anxious to find someone who can stop Bayern's attack, right?'

Even though Stambouli said it with a nonchalant attitude, the truth behind his words couldn't be hidden. Hell, even Huntelaar and Kolasinac couldn't help but give a nod of agreement here, looking at Higo in pity.

"I know that you want to create a miracle, and I admire you for that. However, you have to admit that some teams are way too far out of our reach, so don't put your expectations too high here. This is the reason why we have a calculated loss, so that we wouldn't be disheartened if we lost this kind of a game in the future."

Even Hunteelar said so, and Higo knew, based on the last three or four weeks that he had been training with the man, that the Dutch striker was a fearless man who would challenge everything without hesitation.

This meant that even the man himself didn't think that Bayern was a sky that this team could reach right now.

Higo took a deep breath for a moment, trying to regulate his emotions. While he was disappointed that even three respected veterans on the team had already given up the game, the boy understood why they thought so. Still, that didn't mean he would be willing to lay low and wait for the opponent to kill him.

No, giving up was never a word in his dictionary.

"Thank you for the kind words, Senpai." Higo smiled, albeit a little too cheerful, trying his best to hide any sarcasm in his words. "Still, I want to try a little bit more in that game. At least, if anything, I want to give them hell once again, just like how I did that a few months ago." He clenched his fists unconsciously.

Those three looked at each other for a moment before the striker had a smile spread across his face. "Atta boy! That's the spirit!" The Dutch man grinned while patting Higo on his shoulder.

"With that kind of spirit, you will definitely go far in your career." Stambouli gave a nod of approval.

"Just make sure that you won't get hurt too much once the final result is on the board," Kolasinac grunted. Even though his words were far from being kind, at least, Higo knew that it was the man's way to show his concern.

They chatted for quite a while before Higo finally took his sports bag, wanting to leave the training ground. However, before doing that, he stopped abruptly, looking at Huntelaar with a mischievous grin on his face.

"Hunter-senpai, tomorrow is going to be your turn washing my socks, right? Don't forget, I want them to be clean, okay?"

Huntelaar froze; all the praise he had for Higo earlier was gone instantly. Even Kolasinac and Stambouli couldn't help but choke, not expecting Higo to be so bold in his request.

"You little brat…" Huntelaar had the corner of his lips twitching speechlessly.

Well, this was the punishment that the coach had set, and the players agreed during the 5v5 simulation game a few weeks ago, so he didn't have any room to complain here. Still, this was the first time someone who was almost half his age dared to remind him of something like this, and right now, the Dutch striker wanted nothing but to rub Higo's hair in wry amusement.

"Anyway, I am just reminding you, Senpai, no need to thank me." Higo grinned cheekily before starting to run away as quickly as possible. "Goodbye, you three! See you again tomorrow!" With a quick wave, he dashed off without hesitation, not wanting to give Huntelaar any chance to catch up with him.

As he ran back to his flat, his mind also ran quickly. 'I still don't believe that we have no chance against them. However, if I want to do something, I need information, and Kumiko-chan is definitely the best for this. Let's get her favorite Γ©clair first, then ask her properly. Damn! I have to work hard to create a miracle!'
