The rise of the pervert primordial

Chapter 821: Rest, Rewards & Reconnaissance (part 18)

"So, what’s it going to be this time, an annoyingly impossible to reject "gift", a training session where teasing equals amazingly good progress or...", before Alexandra who was anticipating to Aster’s teasing, could finish her sentence, Aster interrupted her.

"Well, I was planning to have a simple conversation with my friend in a comfortable environment, but if that’s what you want, we can go with it, you know I always have a plan b, c, d and the list goes on", jokingly said Aster.

Alexandra was referring to the lance she obtained thanks to Aster setting her up with Camila, though it was temporary, she obtained a weapon which she could use without suffering the side effect of having low attack power unless she relied in her black heavenly gold’s abilities, and to the training she did during her date where she was accompanied by Felicia, where she learned about Aster’s seconds of invincibility.

The gray-pink eyed girl slightly narrowed her eyes with suspicion as if saying "I don’t believe you" but she still said.

"Sounds good, let’s go for a walk then".

And with that, Aster and Alexandra left, this time they didn’t deepen into the tree agglomerations though, Aster took Alexandra past that towards the west, there was a completely open field which led to the giant mountain that separated this area from what lied at west, but it was far into the distance, Aster and Alexandra simply walked at a slow pace without the intention of going that far away.

"So, what did you want to talk about with me?", asked Alexandra, the only way she had to "defend" herself against Aster’s teasing, was trying to be as direct as possible, it wasn’t that hard since she was quite straightforward to put it in a good way and blunt to put it in an honest way.

Alexandra didn’t hesitate for a second to express her displease back when she thought Aster was playboy dual cultivator after all, of course she recognized her mistake and properly apologized for it after learning the truth, not to mention that she felt immense gratitude towards Aster for helping not only Tamara but also Tomas.

"Just like Tomas you had dealt with people from upper level first tier forces before and my dragon lineage wasn’t a secret for my friends and family, so knowing that my surname is Drage wouldn’t have surprised you, or more accurately you probably had already guessed so, right?", said Aster to which Alexandra nodded.

It’s not like the Drage are the only dragon lineage owners in the four heavenly quadrants, but they are publicly recognized as the strongest dragon lineage owners in terms of battle prowess indeed, what’s more other renowned dragon lineage clans are linked to them one way or another, be it the best in terms of defense, speed and the like, all have marriage and blood ties with the Drage.

So even without Aster mentioning it out loud, Alexandra already knew that, in fact that improved her image of Aster, since the average Drage might not necessarily be a piece of trash, but they aren’t exactly likeable for female cultivators, at least not for those that don’t seek to be taken in by a powerful force in large groups based not in achievements, but potential and looks, to then basically be told to either outstand, gain the favor of some young master or get lost.

"Well, the thing is that I’m not "just" a member of the Drage family, but a candidate to inherit everything they own as well", said Aster, now that indeed took Alexandra by surprise.

"I have seen you do some incredible stuff and know a thing or two about you that still leaves me in awe, but to think you are an heir to one of the four ruler families...", mumbled the pink-grayish eyed girl.

Even though she got to know about the existence of Divine Firmaments and the like, for Alexandra that’s something to worry about in the future, currently the four ruler families and the top three among the first-tier forces of each heavenly quadrants are the largest and strongest entities in sight, so learning that Aster is someone so "important" to one of such, was quite something.

Like most people who knew about his lineage being that of a dragon, they assumed that Aster was a super raising star that came from a side branch of some major family, because he himself had affirmed to have not been born in a high ranked Stellar System, there have been such cases before, some shine even to this day but the vast majority faded in the history of the four heavenly quadrants.

That’s also why those families that have an enmity with him don’t consider him a "threat" but a "headache" instead, if they knew his actual identity as Lilia’s son, things would be completely different, be it for the good or for the worse, that’s how much his real status would weight in the minds of other forces.

Not like Aster cared about such things, his first options when it came to planning never took into account the authority and influence that would come with assuming that position in the Drage family, because he didn’t count with them in his mind, they could turn into a target for elimination depending on how things developed after all.

"Still, you wouldn’t even brag about that insane ability that makes you literally invincible for a certain period of time, so, what does being a heir candidate for the Drage amounts in front of that, we now all know that your surname is Drage but don’t know the exact specifics of it, so the fact that you are telling this to me, is because there must be some involvement between this and something that matters to me... you think they are involved in what happened to my parents, right?", said Alexandra.

’As expected of those two’s daughter, she is really smart’, thought Aster as he nodded.

"The Ying-Yang Paradise sect is indeed one of the rare cases of a force having branches in the four quadrants openly and they have been going to and from fourth to fifth in the rank of first tier forces for a really long time, the best way to dethrone one of the top three would be getting the backing of a ruler family".

"The Fey have some "especial" cases among them, but since most of their positions of authority as held by princesses, a dual cultivation focused force trying to incur in their favor is just asking for trouble, the Talis only care for strength which again is not really forte of a dual cultivation sect, that leaves us the Drage and the Stall".

"And while chances are that they are trying to establish ties with both, not only the Ying-Yang paradise sect has their main quarters in the Dragon Legacy quadrant, but miss Tamara’s constitution would be way more "valuable" for the Drage than for the Stall... worthy enough to obtain full support to make what is considered the second hardest raise in ranks", said Aster.

Now, normally yin dual cultivation type constitutions are classified depending on how big is the boost to the speed of the energy path through dual cultivation, but Tamara’s "Silk Consort" body constitution, had the peculiarity to not only help with energy path realm advancement speed, but she would also help her partner’s lineage improve.

It was unknown to what extent though, the intel on her constitution was quite scarce, because it’s one of the least common constitutions in existence, Lilia had only heard about one person who had it, prior to knowing Tamara, but that one night she shared with Tomas was confirmed to have helped his body endure the torture of the yang stealing needles, for a hundred years.

Besides Tamara’s one, the only other yin constitution that Lilia knows can do more than helping with energy path advancement is Aria’s one, in her case she brings improvement to the soul as well, the difference is that she can do it with simple closeness to others, but let’s not get side-tracked here.

"Mm, I agree, the Castle Armored sect is involved with the Stall, so I know that while resources that are of benefit to their lineage are rare, they can be found and bought with money in other quadrants... the Drage on the other hand", mumbled Alexandra.

As far as even Lilia knows, there are no actual spirit beast dragon species in the four heavenly quadrants nowadays, there are many reptile races with vestiges of dragon lineages but they aren’t able to be classified even as subspecies like Espi when she was a wyrm, amusingly enough all the "real" dragon lineages were transmitted in human clans, like the Drage family.

Resources that are strongly effective on dragons have no need to appear in a place where dragons don’t really exist, so, the most common and realistically way to improve said lineages, was through having offspring, a child is born in a year and even if it doesn’t end up being born with a stronger lineage than their parents, they can contribute to enrich the lineage in the future, since strong descendants can also be born from weak parents, it’s rare but it happens.

Besides that, only resources that generically work in improving lineages have notorious effects on dragon lineage owners, but those are sought by every force whose core is a lineage, so it’s not realistic for even a ruler family to hog them all.

That’s why they focus in creating as many descendants as possible, that’s the most effective way they found to improve in short periods of time, but then someone like Tamara appeared, she and her descendants would basically be a priceless treasure for the Drage, if it is proven that her constitution can be inherited, though it wasn’t Alexandra’s case, it’s not a definitive answer, as again there is a lack of intel about the conditions of the silk consort body constitution.

"Yeah, unfortunately I can’t single out who might be behind of what happened with the information I currently have, which is why...", Aster couldn’t finish his sentence before Alexandra interrupted him.

"You don’t want me to show the slightest hostility towards the Drage in specific, if we happen to bump into them", said the pink-grayish eyed girl to which Aster nodded.

"That guy from the ying-yang paradise sect could have all the "reasons" to try and coerce miss Tamara into his sect, they are the perfect cover for an operation like this, since they are a dual cultivation focused sect, and I’m sure the Drage have a line of people to take the fall for them in place, they can’t let others know what they would be willing to do to obtain someone with the silk consort constitution, or they would be taken advantage of, so if they suspect someone is onto their tail I’m pretty sure, they would rather bury the whole thing and wait, especially because miss Tamara is "dead" for the public eye", he said.

Alexandra is known to not have the constitution of her mother, so she is safe in that aspect, but if she directs her hostility to the Drage instead of the ying-yang paradise sect, things might get messy, that guy who used the bone melting palm on Tamara can be destroyed by Aster just by affirming he used said technique with said intention, as that would make others label him as an evil cultivator, but he was just a front, a fool used to take the fall.

Even if Aster did his magic, at most he would manage to screw the ying-yang paradise sect over with a bit of mental work, but he had nothing that connected the situation to the Drage, even though with the information he had, it was obvious someone on their side was behind of it, it was another of the many cases where truth didn’t matter since what’s important is what you can prove.

’He specifically came to talk to me about a subject which could make me hate him, while first letting me know of his connection to those I hold a grudge against, does he think I have such a short fuse... no, it was out of respect for a friend’, thought Alexandra as she gazed at Aster.

Sure, she was quick to show her displease, but Alexandra is a rather serious person, she wouldn’t ruin the chance to get to the bottom of what happened to her parents for a moment of self-satisfaction, and Aster of course knew it, so this whole conversation’s purpose was to let her whose family’s life was ruined by those "closely related" to him, know of the complete picture.

There was a big difference between Aster being someone that came from a side branch of the Drage and him being the son of one of their main representatives, Tamara might as well have been supposed to be presented to the one who inherited the Drage and that could have been Aster.

Countless thoughts passed through Alexandra’s mind in a second, but she ultimately sighed.

"Ahh, that’s why you are so annoying, someone that actually has gotten to know you has it really hard to get angry at you... I already committed the mistake of doubting your character in that regard once, I’m not the type to repeat the same mistakes, that’s all I will say, okay!", said Alexandra to which Aster chuckled.

To be honest he already expected this conclusion, that’s why a conversation with such a "delicate" subject was considered an easy to deal with, matter from his persepctive, because the Alexandra he knows might look easy to anger on the outside, but she is actually a really reasonable person, given how she acted after her mother was treated by Aster, she simply had trust issues which was completely understandable given her circumstances, but that no longer seemed to shackle her.

’I was right, she is quite a good girl and both of her parents approve of it, go for it, darling~’, said Lilia from within the mind space, which made Aster bitterly smile to his insides.

"I’ll take it as a compliment, leaving aside this subject, let me show you a little "something" I have been working on", said Aster as he retrieved a certain object from the storage of the camp.

Alexandra’s eyes couldn’t help but have sparks in them as she saw the though unfinished, clear and properly designed lance which Aster had made appear for her to see.

Among all the weapons used by the girls of the sect, a lance was not only the hardest to make by hand as a mortal blacksmith but it was also the least "efficient" to take care of first, because only one person in the whole camp used a lance, namely Alexandra.

Even Alice’s gear which consisted in reinforced gloves, arm protectors, boots, shoulder armor, all to be used for offensive, could be given other uses since other girls also knew how to brawl at close range, what’s more, variations of the same were also usable like the defensive gloves given to Fawn for example, but Alexandra’s lance was a one time thing, no variations could be created from it, to be of use to others, as it is a really uncommon and unpopular weapon in the four quadrants, and it requires a high mastery to be on par with either a regular spear or a regular shield, which is what it mixes into a single entity.

’What a good lance... wait a second, I got talked into admitting I trust him and now the impossible to reject gift, this tease-loving dragon bastard!’, inwardly exclaimed Alexandra as she realized she was had, the smirk on the corner of Aster’s mouth as he saw how enthusiastic she was about getting a lance for the incoming second week, further confirmed the previous.

"Humph, yeah, I would trust my life to you and I love the lance, so what", she ultimately said as she softly snorted, while cursing the blue flaming board which made her unable to just isolate herself into a sphere made with her black heavenly gold.

That being said, it’s not like she didn’t conserve a mortal level version of her innate abilities, similar to Aster and the others, earlier you saw how she had a large shield mounted on her back and small round shields on her forearms, that strange setup is due to her profession type manual.

Alexandra’s profession is "Sentinel", her manual’s name is "Eternal Wall", it’s a though defensive focused still warrior type profession, she is to stop large amounts of enemies from attacking others and lock them down in place, which she had perfectly done in her previous fights.

Then you might wonder, why was she not wearing more training equipment, like leather reinforced armor or gloves like the ones Fawn used, and there is a good reason for that, she doesn’t need them.

"Well, since you made me embarrass myself with words and also presented the impossible to reject gift, why not go all the way and also add the training where teasing equals progress!", said Alexandra as she closed her right hand forming a fist, which was then covered in black metallic plaques that covered all the way from her fingers to her wrist, as she punched at Aster.

"Woah, go easy on me, please", said Aster as he used the unfinished lance to block Alexandra’s black metal clad fist, to then raise her left arm and have that black metal octagonal plaques cover her forearm which she used to block a high kick thrown by Aster.

"Clang!", both attacks produced metal clashing sounds, though the one resulting from the collision between the lance and Alexandra’s hand was the loudest.

"Ouch, it’s not as big as the difference of the cultivator version, but it still hurts more to attack you than to be attacked by you", jokingly said Aster as she jumped backwards to recover his stable stance.

"Humph", Alexandra softly snorted, but she couldn’t help but laugh as she charged at Aster.

...

"Phew, that was fun", said Alexandra who was sitting on the ground after twenty minutes of running around while clashing attacks with Aster, to then add.

"After I obtain my first technique, I want to try and block one of your Absolute’s slashes...", she mumbled to which Aster sighed.

"My, what a demanding friend have miss Tamara and Tomas entrusted to me, first she goes and puts a lot of scratches in a lance I worked on for two days so I have to scrap it and start all over again and she wants to me to use my technique for her own amusement as well", he jokingly said.

"Huh, I didn’t... agh, my lance!", exclaimed Alexandra as she saw the thing which was indeed full of scratches, her metal plaques lacked attack power and she couldn’t use the innate abilities she uses on the outside, as a mortal, however they were tough as hell, even her "light" attacks left a lot of marks on steel of high quality created by Aster himself.

"I’m joking of course, I haven’t "activated" the steel of the lance but it’s not your usual mortal material, those scratches can be simply polished, I do have a condition for your other petition though, go and train with Alice and the others, I’m sure you’ll help each other quite nicely", said Aster as he got up.

"Fine... but only if Camila is also there, I have not really spent much time with the others after all", mumbled Alexandra to which Aster smiled as he offered her, his hand to help her get up.

"Deal", and with that, that pink-grayish eyed girl had her "playdates" set up for the rest of the time they would be in this place.

"Mmm, was I the last one you planned to mess with for the day?", asked Alexandra as she saw that Aster was returning towards the camp with her, to which Aster chuckled.

"Nope, I have one more stop to make, it just happened that both of you would be in the same area at the end of the day, or more accurately it was arranged for that to be the case", he jokingly said to which Alexandra shook her head knowing who was the next "target".

"Here, I brought her back safe and sound, sorry miss Mikaela but I have to take away another one of your assistants", said Aster as he greeted Mikaela to then gaze at a certain glasses-wearing girl who was writing on a notebook while watching over the last batch of girls training in battle formations, making the latter put too much pressure onto her pencil snapping its tip.

"M-Me?".
