Chapter 1247: Observing the Chaos
In the city, people were already trying to look at the commotion in the distance. They had seen the mushroom cloud rising after the shocking, deafening blast of the explosion.
The tournament had not started yet, and people were still arriving at the stadium. Last night’s incident had not stopped the tournament, as the city lord had decided to proceed with it.
However, all of the people’s attention at this moment was focused on the direction of the explosion.
After the mushroom cloud disappeared unnaturally, as if someone had swept it away, many people began making their way toward the explosion site.
They were curious about what had happened.
Especially the groups from outside of the city attending the tournament. They needed to know what was going on to decide whether they should continue staying here or leave.
With the assassins’ incident last night, many of them already thought that the city was under attack by the followers of God Tarius.
Inside the city lord’s mansion, one of the guards, a man wearing a white robe, ran toward Su Zhen’s workroom. The moment he reached it, he knocked twice.
"My lord, it’s urgent, my lord."
However, there was no response from the room.
After knocking repeatedly and still receiving no answer, the man decided to enter.
But his eyes trembled and his heart turned cold upon seeing the sight inside.
He froze in place.
What he saw was Su Zhen sitting in his seat, already dead, with a wound on his forehead identical to those of the assassins’ victims.
However, Su Zhen’s eyes were wide open, and his expression looked as though he had seen something terrifying before his death.
After staring at the city lord’s corpse for several seconds, the man turned around and ran in the opposite direction.
"City Lord... City Lord Su is dead!" he shouted.

As chaos spread through parts of the city and the temple, Aldrian observed everything from the inn.
His plan to throw the city and the temple into chaos had been successful. Those followers of Avergis were panicking, yet they could not catch anyone, and they would never find the culprit behind all of this.
Instead, he believed they would blame the followers of God Tarius.
With so much evidence pointing toward them, even Breuze, whether he liked it or not, would have to consider the followers of God Tarius as the perpetrators.
The devil stones he had given to the twins were meant for this purpose. They could use them to create false evidence. With their abilities, creating convincing evidence was easy as long as they had the necessary materials.
The fake hideout was another touch that would make Breuze believe even more that Tarius’ followers were behind everything. Aldrian had created the fake hideout from the inn and used it as a place to store a miniature black hole that he had prepared beforehand in the First Heaven.
The black hole was nowhere near the scale of the ones he normally created. If he truly made one that large, it would destroy the entire realm.
What he needed was only a very small black hole, one powerful enough to obliterate everything within at least several dozen kilometers.
He had fueled the black hole with death laws and several other laws. This not only increased the power of the explosion but also ensured that it could kill immortals and cultivators from the higher heavens.
To maximize the number of victims, he used his pawn within the temple, Arven, upon whom he had already placed the Everlasting Demonic Follower Seal, along with Arven’s group.
He used his absolute authority over them, forcing them to obey his orders without any will of their own. At that time, Arven’s body and consciousness moved entirely according to Aldrian’s will.
From the outside, no one would realize there was anything strange about Arven. They would not suspect anything when Arven guided them toward the fake hideout.
Once the people had gathered near the fake hideout, then boom!
With that, he could kill many cultivators from the temple as well as those from the higher heavens.
To make everything more believable, Zervan would attack Breuze but not kill him. The attack was only meant to show what kind of assassin was responsible for the attacks.
Almost at the same time, Zarven would attack the temple. This would be the final move to make Breuze lose his mind and direct his fury toward Tarius’ followers. If he was truly a loyal follower of Avergis, there was no way he could remain calm after seeing the statue of his god damaged like that.
As for Aldrian himself, he had killed the city lord before returning to the inn. Killing the city lord would create even more chaos and remove the highest authority in the city.
This was also his way of avenging Pei Lang for everything he had been through.
He actually wanted to kill every prison guard to complete that vengeance, but doing so would create suspicion for anyone investigating this matter in the future.
They would ask why the prison guards had been slaughtered? They would surely discover Pei Lang’s escape, and the investigators might connect it to his followers’ group in the Second Heaven.
He would make sure that anyone investigating this matter in the future would be confused and that all of them would continue looking toward Tarius’ followers.
At the same time, he hoped that his followers’ group would eventually turn their attention to this realm. They might not realize at first that all of this chaos had been caused by him, but as time passed, they would figure it out.
He believed in their intellect and their ability to deduce that he was in the Second Heaven.
’Or maybe they will know much earlier just from this incident?’
Aldrian thought about it and could not help but chuckle.
If that was the case, then it would be the best possible scenario.
As he continued observing the situation outside, the twins appeared right in front of him, already kneeling on one knee.
"Your Majesty."
Both of them greeted him.
Aldrian looked at them with a smile and nodded. He had never been worried about these two, as he believed they would succeed.
In the past, they were known as two of the most feared assassins in the entire universe. Their reputation was supported not only by their achievements but also by their strength.
Their true cultivation was at God Sovereign Stage!
Not only were they gods, but they were also among the strongest gods in existence.
"Great work, Zervan, Zarven. You have carried out your mission perfectly," Aldrian said.
"Thank you for the compliment, Your Majesty," both of them replied.
They felt proud and satisfied that they had received praise from Aldrian.
"For now, you may relax, but remain on standby. We will not make any further moves for some time. We will observe the developments over the next few days and decide our next course of action based on what happens," Aldrian said.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
The twins replied before disappearing.
Aldrian then turned his gaze back toward the view outside the window.
After thinking for a moment, he called Pei Lang to his room.
The moment Pei Lang received the summons, he immediately made his way to the room.
Once he entered, Aldrian instructed him to stand beside him at the balcony where he could see outside.
Pei Lang already knew that something had happened. He had heard the explosion earlier, and not long afterward, many cultivators had flown into the sky and looked toward the same direction.
He did not know what they were looking at, but he knew it was something significant. It had drawn the attention of so many powerful cultivators and caused them to move toward the same location.
He had also seen many cultivators from the city lord’s manor flying back and forth as if they were in a panic.
He had already noticed unusual activity since last night. Many cultivators from the city lord’s manor and the city guardians had been searching for something. They had entered many establishments, including the inn where he was staying.
Luckily, no one had checked the best rooms in the inn. Aldrian had also remained completely relaxed and had not said anything when the cultivators from the city lord’s manor investigated the inn.
But this time, their movements seemed far more frantic and uncoordinated.
"You must be wondering what happened outside," Aldrian said to Pei Lang.
Pei Lang nodded.
"Yes, Mister."
"City Lord Su, many elders of his family, the higher-ups of the city guardians, the temple master, many of the temple’s higher-ups, and many other members of the temple. The people responsible for sending you to prison. The people who killed your parents. At this moment, they are already dead." Aldrian spoke with a calm expression.
Pei Lang’s eyes widened in shock.
His heart trembled. His body froze.
"We killed all of them, and now no one will focus on you anymore. Their attention will be directed toward something far bigger," Aldrian continued.
Pei Lang remained frozen.
Dead?
All of them were dead?
His gaze drifted back toward the sky, where many cultivators were still flying in various directions.
No wonder...
No wonder the situation outside looked so chaotic.
No wonder those cultivators looked so frantic.
They had lost so many important people.
A strange sense of satisfaction suddenly rose within Pei Lang’s heart.
It felt as though a heavy weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
He felt relieved.
He felt refreshed.
Without realizing it, tears began to gather in his eyes.
