Chapter 366 - 363: Earth’s Predicament
Feng Hao was as popular as ever. The moment he stepped into the Thief God Hall, he was greeted by countless fellow thieves.
His three new followers were quite curious about this. Zhang Meng was especially expressive. He jiggled his fleshy body and said with an admiring "Tsk tsk," "Boss, you seem to be doing pretty well for yourself in the Thief God Hall!"
"Yeah, it looks like everyone here really respects you," Tu Xiaoshan added with a nod.
Feng Hao let out a helpless laugh. "It’s nothing, really. I just made it into the Thief Son competition and brought a little glory to our Wolf Country Branch Hall."
"Whoa," Zhang Meng exclaimed. "Does that mean you’re going to become a Thief Son soon, Boss?"
"It’s not even close to happening yet. What are you getting so excited for?" Feng Hao said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
"Heh heh, with your strength, Boss, won’t competing for a Thief Son spot be easy?" Zhang Meng expertly buttered him up. "When that happens, we’ll be the followers of a Thief Son. Imagine how much face we’ll have!"
"..." Feng Hao shook his head, once again at a loss for words.
He then led the three to the main hall’s front desk. The receptionist was the same female thief in red. "Sister Ling, long time no see."
"Oh? What wind blew our future Thief Son over here?" Sister Ling teased with a smile.
"Please don’t tease me, Sister Ling." Feng Hao gave a wry smile, then began the introductions. "These three are my buddies. They all want to join the Thief God Hall. Sister Ling, do you think you could help them get processed as soon as possible?"
"Is that so?" Sister Ling looked the three over with interest and said with a light chuckle, "Normally, new thieves need to go through an observation period before joining, but since you’re the one introducing them, we can skip that. I can process their Thief’s Marks right now."
"Then thank you very much, Sister Ling," Feng Hao said gratefully.
Sister Ling gave a charming smile and turned to Zhang Meng and the others. "Come on, let’s get your information recorded."
"Okay, okay!" Zhang Meng was the first to rush forward, eagerly starting to fill out the forms. Li Mufeng and Tu Xiaoshan exchanged a glance, equally thrilled.
Soon, with Sister Ling’s help, the three followers successfully registered their information and had the Thief God Mark implanted in their palms.
After leaving the Thief God Hall, Zhang Meng and the others immediately started pestering him with questions. "Boss, I heard the five great legacies of the Thief God Hall are all amazing. How can we obtain one?"
"Yeah, Boss," Li Mufeng asked eagerly, "I’ve been drooling over the ’Hidden Kill’ and ’Shadow’ legacies for a long time."
Feng Hao chuckled. "You can exchange for them with points. But before you do that, I suggest you get promoted to Intermediate Thief first. It’ll be faster to earn points that way."
"Understood," the three followers nodded excitedly.
Zhang Meng couldn’t wait. "Alright, uh, I’m going to go take on some jobs. You guys can head back first."
"Er, do you have to be in such a hurry?" Feng Hao said, exasperated.
Zhang Meng grinned cheekily. "Can’t be helped. I research Demon Patterns, so the sooner I get a legacy, the better."
With that, he eagerly scurried back into the Thief God Hall.
To Feng Hao’s exasperation, Li Mufeng and Tu Xiaoshan actually followed him. And so, just moments after leaving the Thief God Hall, Feng Hao found himself all alone.
’These three...’ Feng Hao shook his head helplessly and turned to walk toward the Origin Node.
’It’s about time to contact Earth again.’
After rushing to the Origin Node in the center of Five States City, Feng Hao dove straight into the Fifth Secret Realm. Ever since he learned that the Listening Stone connection wasn’t limited by the Secret Realm’s level, there was no longer any need to go to the Second Secret Realm.
After a familiar spatial fluctuation, Feng Hao appeared on a massive island. The sea was not far away, and he could clearly hear the sound of crashing waves.
"Heh, looks like my luck isn’t bad." Feng Hao smirked and quickly jogged to the seaside beach.
Facing the sea, he sat down cross-legged on the sand, enjoying the pleasant feeling of the ocean breeze on his face.
Three-second Fire popped out of his sea of consciousness with a curious look, seeming very interested in the Primordial Secret Realm. "So this is the Fifth Secret Realm? It doesn’t feel that much more impressive than our Taiyi Secret Realm."
"There isn’t much difference, really. At most, the Spirit Beasts are a bit stronger," Feng Hao chuckled.
Three-second Fire nodded thoughtfully and said, "Alright, uh, I’m going to look around nearby. You go ahead and do your thing."
"Go ahead, just be careful," Feng Hao said nonchalantly.
With that, Three-second Fire transformed into a streak of light and disappeared with a WHOOSH.
After Three-second Fire left, Feng Hao closed his eyes and connected to Solos’s Stone Listening Communication. "Solos, Solos, answer me."
"I’m here, I’m here," Solos quickly accepted the communication. "Do you still want those movies from last time? I’ve managed to get a lot more."
"..." Feng Hao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "That’s not a priority. Let’s talk about the recent situation on Earth first."
Hearing this, Solos’s tone turned serious. "It’s basically the same old story. The major camps are all fighting amongst themselves, both openly and secretly, while also resisting the demonic beasts together. But recently, the number of demonic beasts seems to have increased, and the camps have suffered heavy losses."
"They’re increasing already?" Feng Hao’s brow furrowed as he sighed.
"Er, is it possible you know something about this?" Solos asked, puzzled.
Feng Hao let out a long sigh. "If I’m not mistaken, the demonic beasts are only going to become more and more numerous. You all should prepare as early as possible."
"Is that true?" Solos asked, his face falling in alarm.
"Would I lie to you?" Feng Hao gave a bitter smile and then relayed the analysis the Old City Lord had given him before.
After hearing what Feng Hao said, Solos grew solemn. "It seems we need to achieve unification as soon as possible."
"With your current strength, unification shouldn’t be too difficult, right?" Feng Hao asked.
"In terms of strength alone, our European Camp and the Huaxia Camp are already above the other regions. The problem is that the leaders of those other regions are too ambitious, which makes unification very troublesome," Solos said with a bitter sigh.
"It would be best to unify, but if you can’t, then let it be. As long as you can present a united front against the outside threat." Feng Hao paused in thought, then changed the subject. "By the way, I’ve recently developed an antibody for the demonic poison. I think you guys will have a use for it."
Solos was ecstatic. "What? Mad God, you’ve developed an antibody for the demonic poison?"
"That’s right." Feng Hao chuckled and nodded. "I’ll transmit the research data to you. As for Alchemists, you shouldn’t be short on them over there, right?"
"Hahaha, not at all, not at all! We’ve got Ninth-level Alchemists all over the place," Solos laughed excitedly. He then began to seriously receive the experimental data for the demonic poison antibody, his voice trembling. "Mad God, oh, Mad God, you’re truly a savior. With this antibody, we can reduce casualties by at least half."
"As long as it’s useful," Feng Hao said with a faint smile.
After sending the research data for the demonic poison antibody, they chatted for a while longer, and Feng Hao got a new batch of movies from Solos.
As soon as the movies were transferred, Solos eagerly left the Secret Realm. He had no choice—the demonic poison antibody was simply too important, and many of Earth’s Warriors were suffering from the demonic poison’s torment. He had to deliver the antibody as quickly as possible.
