"Cut the crap. Whatever you want me to do, just say it." Lin Mu snapped impatiently at Tang Hongwei.

"Alright then, since you put it that way, I won’t waste words either. I’ll give you a chance. It’s already eleven-thirty. You’ve got half an hour. Your woman has been taken to the rooftop of Handan International Mansion. The second it hits twelve, she’ll drop from the twentieth floor. Of course, you can imagine the result. You’ve got thirty minutes to save her. Whether you can get her out alive or not depends on your own skills." Tang Hongwei looked at Lin Mu as he spoke.

"Fine." Lin Mu answered, then turned around, and his figure vanished from the living room.

Leaving the Tang Family Mansion, Lin Mu drove toward Handan Mansion.

Since the Tang Family Mansion was basically out in the suburbs, it took about twenty minutes by car to get to Handan Mansion. But with Lin Mu’s driving speed, he only needed fifteen. Calculated like that, it was more than enough time to save Haihua.

But Lin Mu knew that Handan Mansion had to be a death trap right now. Tang Hongwei would never let him walk out with Haihua that easily. The old bastard definitely kept a backhand ready.

Ten-odd minutes later, Lin Mu pulled up at the main entrance of Handan Mansion. After he stopped the car and got out, two Lanzai walked over and blocked his path.

"Where’s my woman?" Lin Mu asked the two Lanzai, staring at them.

The two Lanzai pointed up at the rooftop. "Up there. If you’ve got the skills, go save her yourself. Also, we gotta search you."

"Enough nonsense, just search." Lin Mu said.

Very quickly, the two Lanzai started patting Lin Mu down. Of course, they didn’t find anything. Lin Mu usually didn’t carry weapons. His best weapons were his fists and feet—and now he’d even developed unbeatable Black Qi and even White Qi.

The two Lanzai didn’t find a thing, then fished out Lin Mu’s wallet. The pair of greedy bastards went straight ahead and took the cash from his wallet. Lin Mu was furious, but he couldn’t show it. If he made a move now, Haihua up there would be in even greater danger.

On the surface Lin Mu didn’t make a move, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t play dirty in the dark. These two idiots actually had the nerve to righteously empty out his wallet.

"Alright, you can go in." The two Lanzai looked pretty pleased with themselves!

Of course they were in a good mood. There was two thousand cash in Lin Mu’s wallet, plus a few supermarket gift cards, and the two of them had just cleanly split the haul.

You think Lin Mu could just swallow that? Nobody’s ever had the balls to rob the North African Wolf Fang Soldier King! A wickedly charming smile curled onto Lin Mu’s lips as he walked forward. As he passed between the two Lanzai, he suddenly struck, lightning-fast, hitting both of their vital points.

The two Lanzai shuddered, but didn’t feel anything wrong, still lost in the joy of their recent score.

Lin Mu didn’t feel bad about the money anymore. In another hour, these two would experience the happiest moment of their lives—and then, death!

Ignoring the two Lanzai, Lin Mu stepped into the building. He paused in the lobby for a moment, straining to feel the air currents around him. Since Tang Hongwei had told him to come rescue Haihua, there had to be an ambush here.

Soon, from the reception desk area in front of the lobby, Lin Mu sensed a faint trace of killing intent. The lobby was very open, with basically nowhere to hide people—except behind the front desk reception counter.

Lin Mu shifted his gaze that way, and in that instant, a few people suddenly popped up from behind the counter.

All of them were holding submachine guns. That’s right, submachine guns, not handguns. They sprang up and their SMGs spat tongues of flame as they raked Lin Mu with fire.

You had to hand it to them, they really knew how to pick their spot. With the space this open, Lin Mu standing there was basically a sitting duck!

A hail of bullets came screaming over. Lin Mu let out a cold laugh. They thought they could kill him with this crap? Delusional. Daydreaming!

He flickered aside and his figure disappeared at once. The Lanzai with the SMGs kept spraying rounds. Even though they couldn’t see Lin Mu’s shadow, they still kept firing. The lobby was only so big—where could he possibly go?

They already knew Lin Mu was tough, with insane reflexes and speed, so they figured he was moving at high speed. That’s why they didn’t stop, just kept laying on the trigger. No matter how fast you move, with a bullet storm this dense, where the hell are you going to dodge to?

Rat-tat-tat... the SMGs kept spitting fire in long bursts!

The gunfire went on for about a minute, two full magazines spent, but the result they wanted never appeared.

Lin Mu still didn’t show up in their line of sight, let alone get hit.

What puzzled them was that the lobby was so wide open, there was nowhere to hide, so where the hell had he gone?

"Ha!"

Just as the Assassins were getting frustrated, someone suddenly patted one Lanzai on the shoulder.

The Lanzai turned and saw Lin Mu grinning at him.

"Fuck... this guy’s not even human..."

The Lanzai was shocked. No wonder they couldn’t see him—he’d already gotten behind them. No matter how they fired, they were never going to hit him. They hadn’t watched those dumb anti-Japanese war dramas, so they knew bullets don’t turn corners.

"You... your—"

The Lanzai had just gotten one syllable out when Lin Mu’s fist smashed into him.

One punch and the Lanzai was sent flying. At the same time, Lin Mu snatched the SMG from his hands.

The other Lanzai saw this, and as they turned to open fire on Lin Mu—

Lin Mu pulled the trigger first. Rat-tat-tat... a string of precise shots, and the remaining Lanzai collapsed in pools of blood. Lin Mu had turned them into beehives with his gun.

Lin Mu gave a slight smile, tossed the gun to the floor, and walked toward the elevators.

He opened the elevator doors, stepped in, and started ascending to the top floor.

Before long, the elevator began to rise. Once it hit the tenth floor, the lights inside flickered a few times, then went out completely, and the elevator stopped dead.

"Shit." Lin Mu cursed under his breath. How does a perfectly good elevator suddenly lose power and stop?

But after thinking it through, Lin Mu calmed down. This had to be Tang Hongwei’s people pulling tricks. Since he’d led Lin Mu here, there were bound to be traps everywhere, all sorts of ambushes. His goal was to kill Lin Mu. If Lin Mu could just walk in and save Haihua that easily, Tang wouldn’t be staging this whole production and wasting his time.

As Lin Mu was still cursing in his heart, he suddenly felt the elevator plummeting down. Damn it, this was the tenth floor—they were really going all out!

The elevator dropped at high speed. Lin Mu didn’t dare hesitate. He immediately channeled all his Inner Strength. In this situation, stopping the elevator was absolutely impossible. This was clearly being controlled by someone, not a power outage or some random mechanical failure.
