Chapter 1371 - 1367: Crushing the Production Team
The following photographer picked up the pheasant and then realized he was too excited and made a noise. However, because this reality show has a down-to-earth approach, the crew does not enforce such strict regulations, so it’s not too out-of-bounds.
Chloe Winston had already pushed Constantine Stewart away. Although she hit a pheasant, she didn’t plan to carry it. She bowed to the pheasant and said, "In your next life, may you be reincarnated at the top of the food chain."
Constantine chuckled lightly at the sight; what a ferocious yet innocent and kind little creature.
After hitting the first pheasant, Chloe Winston encountered a few hares. She shot one, and then Constantine Stewart looked around and found a rabbit’s nest. He pulled out two fat, strong, lively rabbits from it. Maybe because it was the outskirts of the jungle, there were no fierce beasts, and these rabbits were all well-fed and moved slowly.
This operation not only stunned Chloe and the following photographer but left the viewers watching the live broadcast astounded as well.
"Insane cheering, live rabbit nest excavation!!!"
"Oh my god, why is there such a handsome man in the world, handsome, rich, with flamboyant survival skills, live streaming the excavation of a rabbit nest?"
"Hahaha, as a face-licker, I’m glued to the screen, no explanation needed, Mr. Stewart is handsome to the extreme."
"I want to marry Mr. Stewart, awoooooo."
"Haha, wake up, upstairs, it’s daylight."
Chloe, surprised by his skill, watched as the man tied the two rabbits into a dead knot with a rope, stuffed them into his backpack, and handed them to the following photographer. She asked in confusion, "Have you survived in the wild before?"
She knew he had a gun license, having seen him play with guns and was aware of his shooting level. In her impression, Constantine Stewart seemed to know too many things.
The man, usually silent in front of the camera, said lightly: "Trained for two years, Paris is chaotic."
Chloe bit her lip, feeling she had never really understood Constantine Stewart.
Because there was enough food and dusk was falling, the three headed back. On the way back, they encountered a few pheasants; Chloe shot two, carrying three pheasants and three rabbits back.
When they returned to the campsite, Charles Taylor had already started a bonfire, set up the tent, and somehow managed to get a pot from the crew, building a simple stove on the ground, and was boiling water.
Everyone looked at them in surprise and joy, having been out for only half an hour and returning with a few pheasants and live rabbits.
"Achloe, following you really means there’s meat to eat, this wild game tastes super good." Wendy Starling excitedly said, staring at the pheasant’s beautiful tail, "Can I keep the tail feathers?"
"Of course, all yours," Chloe laughed.
Everyone gathered around; even William Zamora and Vicky Webb stared at the rabbits, swallowing saliva. They had chosen food to bring, but how could dry rations compare to fresh meat?
Even the crew was alerted. Daniel told the live broadcast’s following photographer to switch angles to film others, then stared intently at the plump rabbits, feeling like he could smell them cooking.
"Director, want a bite?" Constantine Stewart picked the smallest one and waved it in front of Daniel.
Daniel quickly nodded.
"Trade something for it." Constantine smirked, a rogue smile on his lips, his ink-black eyes squinting, speaking leisurely.
"What do you want?" Daniel grumbled in agony, too much, way too much. A rabbit, and he had to trade something for it, a rabbit that no one would bother to eat back in Imperial City, really?
But here in the deep forest, forget about rabbits, there’s not even a hot meal. Food is practically more expensive than gold.
"One plump wild rabbit for eight items, a roasted whole rabbit for fifteen items," said Constantine, squinting. "We choose the items."
This sly move of Constantine immediately extorted the crew, the other guests watched in admiration, wishing they could go over and hug his leg, shouting, "Boss, take me into the business world, if you don’t make money, who will?"
He’s pure merchant, totally a crafty merchant.
Director Daniel’s heart was in pain. After struggling for a long time, he steeled himself and said, "Eight items, deal!"
Constantine smirked, casting a deep gaze at Chloe, said, "Achloe, ask the crew for whatever you need."
"Okay." Chloe agreed with a smile, quickly pulling Wendy to choose items from the crew.
One rabbit exchanged for a lot of daily necessities, most importantly, Constantine Stewart opened a continuous channel of resources in such a scarce environment.
Tonight it’s roasted rabbit meat; tomorrow night it might be some other wild game. No need for airdropped packages, no need to carry luggage, these are not problems.
"Achloe, I just realized today that you’re all big shots. If it weren’t for you and Mr. Stewart on this show, we’d be having a miserable time." Wendy Starling sincerely said while holding the goods they traded for, vowing to cling tightly to Chloe Winston’s leg.
Constantine Stewart, really, words can’t describe him. In the first season’s harsh filming conditions, he got an airdrop package, in the second season, with a few words, he acquired the most lacking necessities from the crew. Wendy is now thoroughly impressed by this big shot.
Chloe looked at the seemingly refined and gentle man with endless cunningness, pouted, and said, "Let’s go, let’s clean the pheasant and have roasted pheasant tonight."
Using boiling water, they cleaned the feathers off the three pheasants. Chloe took out her Swiss Army Knife, cut open their bellies, removed the guts, and skillfully cleaned them.
"Achloe, you can do anything." Wendy Starling looked at her deft movements and praised; she couldn’t even take seeing chicken blood.
"I grew up in a welfare home, did everything from a young age," Chloe said lightly. Because she saw the warmth and coldness of human relationships from childhood and suffered a lot, her survival skills are also stronger than most people.
Charles Taylor had already found finely carved slender twigs as a grill, skewering the three pheasants and cooking them over the fire.
None of them had any outdoor grilling experience, and it was finally Constantine Stewart who personally took up the grilling. The olive oil and special spices they traded for, along with salt, were spread over the pheasants layer by layer, quickly spreading a tempting aroma.
The following photographer was practically drooling.
The crew happily traded a rabbit, planning to replicate the grill, but no one brought salt, oil, or spices. It turns out all of these were stuffed into Constantine Stewart’s luggage.
The director’s smile froze, feeling hopeless. He should have traded fifteen items for the roasted rabbit meat!!!
"Director, it seems the theme of our filming doesn’t match expectations." The assistant-director, Shih, looking at the guests around the campfire joyfully roasting wild game, commented with some distress, "It feels like they’re really just out for a picnic, camping."
Where is the promised survival reality show, the promised grinding the guests into the ground, the promised most brutal variety show?
Instead, the guests were having a feast of roasted meat, while they sat on cold benches, grumbling with hunger.
These guests are simply devils, well, some of them are devils.
Director Daniel sighed, patting the young shoulder, young man, there are many tricks in this world, being tricked isn’t shameful; starving to death from craving is.
So Director Daniel happily went over to mooch some roasted meat.
