Chapter 1370 - 1366: Your Beauty Makes Me Lose Control
The guide hired by the show was a man from the village in his forties or fifties. Unfortunately, he spoke with a heavy local accent, making it difficult to understand him, so the group left the communication to Desmond Wood.
Desmond, carrying his backpack, followed behind the guide, gesturing to communicate, which brought about some laughter.
After about two hours of walking, they finally turned into a dense jungle, where visibility was still high. The guide said they needed to walk another two hours to reach a temporary rest point in the forest before dark. That place had a water source and open space, suitable for camping.
The journey was long, so to boost morale, Desmond began singing military songs. By the end, even the staff of the show joined in, creating a harmonious atmosphere. Everyone was in high spirits, and viewers watching the live stream sent a wave of approval.
This show is so damn positive. Other reality shows are just about cooking or playing indoor games, with celebrities making bank and gaining fame. This one’s about pushing the guests to their limits, with the entire crew carrying equipment through deserts and jungles. The guests are exhausted but still singing military songs.
"My brother Desmond is just so cool, really earned a fan here, I’ve gone from casual viewer to devoted fan."
"Best reality show of the year. Charles Taylor has been so thoughtful, having the guide explain the flora and jungle survival tips along the way."
"Knowledge changes fate, Mama, I’ll study hard and improve every day."
Fans in the live chat weren’t bickering for once; they were all hitting the like button, spamming 666666.
Before dark, under the guide’s leadership, the group arrived at the predetermined camping site.
They camped by a stream in a forested gorge. There was a water source and clearings, far enough from the woods to avoid camping dangers. The production team had meticulously planned the filming locations in advance, ensuring that each camp was pre-selected to minimize danger.
At the campsite, the guests were exhausted, but the challenges were just beginning.
There was no food or water, not enough tents, and away from modern conveniences, everyone realized they seemed quite useless.
"Chloe, what should we do?" Wendy Starling asked during filming, developing a sort of blind obedience of the weak following the strong towards Chloe Winston.
"Before it gets dark, let’s pitch the tents quickly. Desmond, you go with Sister Song to collect dry branches nearby. We need to build a bonfire at night to ward off wild animals. Don’t wander far, collect as many as possible to ensure it lasts all night," Chloe instructed as she took out a bow and arrow she had selected from the show’s props. She needed to find food. Almost everyone had cautiously brought food, but she and Constantine Stewart hadn’t brought anything.
"I’ll go with you," Constantine Stewart said nonchalantly when he saw her with the bow and arrow, then glanced at Charles Taylor and continued, "You stay. These people have no experience at all, don’t let them go into the water or run around. Set up the tents, make a fire, and handle the rest as you see fit."
Constantine’s words were more serious than usual. His demeanor slightly changed, with a touch of excitement in his eyes, as if a fish swimming into a stream or a beast entering the forest.
Charles Taylor glanced at Constantine and felt inexplicably that this man was not as simple as he seemed. Having him accompany Chloe would ensure more safety.
"Chloe, be sure to keep the trailing cameraman with you and be careful," Charles Taylor reminded her softly.
"I’ll just scout nearby for any isolated small animals. I want some meat for dinner," Chloe smiled slightly. She had a can of salt and didn’t worry that Constantine would do anything inappropriate on camera.
Everyone quickly got to work. Even the staff on the production team busied themselves with camping preparations.
Chloe, with her bow and arrow, ventured into the forest along a small mountain path, searching for edible items. The jungle was full of mushrooms, and Chloe used a hiking stick to dig up some along the way. She knew that brightly colored mushrooms were poisonous, so she only picked plain ones and wrapped them in large shrub leaves, putting them in her backpack to ask the guide which ones were edible later.
"Are we having roasted mushrooms for dinner?" Constantine Stewart showed a rare interest in these foods as he saw her intently digging mushrooms. "I noticed you brought salt."
Constantine discovered he liked this girl more with each passing day, always finding little surprises in their daily interactions.
"Shush." Chloe glared at him fiercely, signaling him to keep quiet. Then she drew her bow and arrow, a plump wild pheasant had landed not far away in the bushes, flaunting its colorful long tail proudly, flapping its wings.
Chloe felt a bit nervous, having previously practiced shooting and archery with Constantine, who was an expert, but he now lazily leaned against a tree trunk, his bright eyes not intending to interfere.
The cameraman anxiously turned the camera towards the beautiful plump pheasant, and viewers in the live stream chat all became excited.
"Wow, such a beautiful pheasant. This isn’t a survival show; it’s a personal showcase for our young lady."
"Are we having meat tonight? Are we?"
"Oh my God, I’m becoming a die-hard fan of Chloe Winston. Is there anything this girl can’t do?"
"I love the surprised and fierce look when the goddess spotted the pheasant, I’m on my knees."
"Haha, wait until she actually hits the pheasant before bragging. Just having a bow and arrow doesn’t make you an expert. Pretending will get you struck by lightning."
"Troll above, get out, get out, get out..."
The live chat flared up again, but Chloe grew even more nervous, trying to steady herself. She imagined the pheasant as a target during archery practice at the club and shot an arrow. The pheasant let out a painful cry, flapped its wings, and managed to get airborne.
A hint of disappointment flashed in Chloe’s eyes, but soon the pheasant only flew a short distance before falling to the ground.
The man leaned close to her ear, whispering deeply and seductively, "You were breathtaking when you shot that arrow, almost uncontrollably so."
A warm kiss landed on the back of her clean neck, scorching and fierce, sending shivers through her. The cameraman, too excited to notice, had already moved to collect the struggling pheasant.
Chloe raised her hand to punch him, but the man grasped her small hand, his refined and gentle face showing a deeper and wilder side as he chuckled quietly, "Don’t let the whole country see me forcefully kiss you. I’m sure it would cause quite a stir."
"You hit it, you hit it." The cameraman, holding the pheasant, excitedly ran back to report, while cheers and waves of 666666 erupted in the live stream chat.
Chloe quickly withdrew her hand, showing a grudging smile, and cursed under her breath, "Damn him."
