"Shameless, totally shameless. The director must be manipulating things behind the scenes. How else could Chloe end up with Constantine Stewart out of nowhere?" Desmond Wood was practically exploding with anger. If it weren’t for the fact that it was a live broadcast, he would have charged up to Daniel to demand what kind of benefits Constantine had given him.

Charles Taylor didn’t look very pleased either. Constantine Stewart had always had a vague interest in Chloe Winston. With his official girlfriend by his side, he still wanted to make a move on Chloe. It was truly despicable. However, he managed to keep his composure and said calmly, "Even though Chloe is in his team, we can still act together and keep an eye on them. Constantine won’t be able to pull any tricks."

"Let’s quickly pick five items to bring. This time, we’ll really be living like primitive people." Even without looking back, Chloe Winston could feel the intense gaze on her back. Even though she was teamed up with her ex-husband, she had plenty of ways to ignore him.

Chloe stuffed her selected items into a small travel bag: a tent, tissues, a small Swiss Army Knife to carry around, also requested a can of salt from the production team, and finally chose a hiking stick.

"What did you bring?" The man’s long, pale fingers pressed against the zipper of her travel bag. The familiar scent of aftershave, mixed with a cold pine fragrance, wafted over, causing Chloe to pause, her long lashes lowered, not saying a word.

Perhaps it was due to growing up in France, where French men usually lead meticulous lives and are somewhat effeminate. However, Constantine Stewart carried a sense of French laziness, demanding high-quality life yet without a trace of effeminacy. Having lived with him for six years, Chloe knew that Constantine was always deeply hidden, almost well-versed in everything.

"As the official couple for this episode, we should at least check what we’ve each brought to avoid duplication, right?" Constantine said leisurely, then opened his knapsack: a military-grade water bottle, a toiletries set, disposable underwear and socks, and a handgun gleaming with a cold light.

Chloe’s face turned red and then white. The man’s tall stature easily blocked everyone’s view, so only she saw what was inside the bag.

"There are two brush heads in the toiletries set, one black and one pink. We can share a toothbrush." The man’s gaze deepened as he looked at her suddenly flushed face, with a hint of lingering amusement at the corners of his lips. So, blushing over the underwear? How innocent.

"You’re carrying contraband?" Chloe quickly regained her composure, feeling suffocated by the overwhelming sense of the man’s presence, too close for comfort.

"I have a gun license, a must for outdoor survival." Constantine’s voice was sexy, and he chuckled deeply, "As the official couple, I’ve even offered my toothbrush. Shouldn’t we share a tent tonight to save resources, hmm?"

Piss off!

Chloe sneered, zipped up her backpack, and walked away.

Constantine didn’t mind, chuckled softly, his gaze deep, the days ahead were long.

Other teams were discussing what items to bring. With a three-day and three-night survival mode, there were too many things to bring. Just the daily necessities alone could reach a dozen or twenty items. How could just five items be enough?

So sacrifice was necessary.

"Chloe, what did Constantine bring? Let’s take a cue." Wendy Starling put down a pile of items; she wanted to bring this and that too.

Remembering that most of the man’s items were changes of clothes, Chloe’s face burned intensely.

"Just bring anything. We can always exchange resources later." Chloe said quietly.

"Right, right, how did I not think of that?" Wendy almost jumped up in delight and pulled Desmond Wood and Charles Taylor. The group deliberated on bringing non-overlapping items, maximizing combinations. This way, they could just barely manage to get through three days.

Thinking about the miserable days ahead, everyone cursed the production team without restraint, not avoiding the cameras at all. The filming crew smiled awkwardly, while viewers watching the live stream were going crazy with laughter. This variety show was downright insane, seeing the production team repeatedly grind the guests into the ground.

Half an hour later, just before departure, there was quite a commotion on Rory Lane’s side as she refused to team up with William Zamora and enter the jungle.

Rory Lane had the most luggage among the guests. Her idol image as the first love goddess meant she brought all fancy clothes and skincare products. Bringing only five things into the mountains meant filming would be without makeup for the next three days, which was pure torture for Rory, especially seeing Constantine paired up with Chloe.

So Rory broke down before filming even started, turning her back to the camera and crying. Despite the crew’s efforts to persuade her, she wouldn’t budge. They eventually gave up, thinking if it weren’t for Mr. Stewart, they could easily delay filming for half a day and call in a substitute guest to shoot overnight.

Finally, Constantine spoke coldly, "If you’re unwilling to film, go back to Imperial City."

Rory Lane’s face turned pale with fright. She hastily packed five items into her backpack, casting a resentful glance at Chloe before staying quietly like a chick.

Even though she had always exaggerated to Chloe that she was about to become official with Constantine, the fact was, she was never sure that Constantine would marry her.

This man was courteous to her, giving her cards with no limit, buying her gifts, inviting her for breakfast, and even graciously agreeing to join her on the reality show, but he never touched her.

Rory Lane had tried everything, even getting drunk and climbing into his bed. There was one time when the man was indeed a little drunk and didn’t reject her, but when she tried to kiss him, he pushed her away with that cold, obscure, condescending look that Rory remembers vividly to this day.

The look was indifferent, tinged with disgust, and mingled with a casual loneliness.

She had clearly aroused his desire, but he just looked at her with that cold stare, then took off the jacket stained with her lipstick and turned away.

For a whole month after that, Rory couldn’t get close to Constantine by even half a step. A month later, she finally learned her lesson and didn’t dare to do anything presumptuous again.

Constantine’s words just now clearly showed anger, so Rory didn’t dare throw a fit any longer and followed the group into the mountains with her backpack.

"Seeing Rory Lane cry and fuss, only to find no one to comfort her and embarrass herself, I’m just so pleased. This show may be twisted, but it’s been worth coming to." Wendy Starling affectionately linked arms with Chloe Winston, animated in her speech without intentionally lowering her voice.

Anyway, the whole internet knows their breakup was as catastrophic as an avalanche, so she wasn’t going to pretend in front of the cameras with fake sisterly affection.

"Hmph, you guys are happy, but I’m not." Desmond Wood ended up being paired with Vicky Webb. A week ago, their fans were at odds, fighting fiercely. Now they’ve been grouped in a CP? Surely, the show is joking, right?

If every CP group were to be graded, Desmond’s group would definitely score negatively, with a zero-support rate.

"Save your energy for the jungle." Chloe said calmly. She wasn’t as optimistic as they were. Although the show had experienced guides leading the way and a helicopter escort, just thinking about the dense, snake and insect-infested jungle made Chloe’s skin crawl.
