Chapter 359: Intellectual Conversation
Victoria’s statement was followed by a long silence of disbelief and... suspicion.
Even if it was his sister who was giving her opinion, Kevin couldn’t simply believe that Kael, after somehow managing to evolve his rank mid-battle, would have been able to fight Noah... who, if what John and the rest had said was true, was at the Platinum rank.
It was simply too ridiculous for a sane person to believe, though Kevin also knew that his sister wasn’t insane.
Even if he wanted to deny it... somewhere deep inside, he had already acknowledged the fact, but seeing someone like Kael consistently being at the top and performing impossible feats... it left a bitter taste in Kevin’s mouth.
It wasn’t out of jealousy but something deeper than that.
"It was during his fight with Kael that Noah had dropped unconscious at the end. His body seemed to be under stress due to having just evolved to a new core, and well... Kael’s blade had drawn quite a lot of his blood."
Victoria remembered Kael’s sword slicing through Noah’s chest in a show of one of the most technical and beautiful forms of swordsmanship.
After saying her part, Victoria simply swept her gaze across the room before landing on Alicia, whose expression had dropped quite a bit after hearing that Noah had been injured.
"After awakening some ability of his, Noah was also able to use a rapid regeneration of sorts. So most of his injuries during the fight should have already healed."
Victoria spoke in general, but her words were meant to reassure Alicia, who had her head lowered as if to hide the expression on her face.
"You should visit the infirmary and check up on your injuries."
Diana, who had been quiet the entire time, expressed her honest view, making Victoria give her a calculated glance.
For some reason, Victoria felt Diana’s expression was an odd one, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on what it was.
"I am fine, but thanks for asking."
Victoria gently smiled at Diana, who simply nodded her head with a smile in return.
’Strange.’
Victoria thought, but the expression on her face didn’t change in the slightest.
"You all may go now, and yes... visit Noah too."
Seeing that there was nothing else to speak about, Victoria gave Alicia a firm look as she uttered those words.
Alicia, on her part, wanted to refuse the instruction, but... she couldn’t lie to herself, and that too before her sister, who had a good understanding of her emotions.
Alicia was indeed worried about Noah, but at the same time, she wanted to slap him hard for fighting against her siblings.
From Victoria’s words, Alicia could feel that her sister was trying to portray Noah as innocent, but maybe her sister didn’t know her well enough.
Alicia was the youngest amongst the Frost siblings and could also be considered a lot more emotional than the rest, but in no way was she a fool.
She could have turned a blind eye if Noah had fought someone else, but fighting against her family was simply unacceptable to her.
Though, judging from her sister’s reactions, Alicia could tell that her sister didn’t want her to break her friendship with Noah, and Alicia was going to respect that decision.
But Noah would have a good scolding waiting for him.

"The Frosts seem like a family with many complications."
Vienna commented with her hands behind her back as she walked along with Amelia and Yennifer towards the cafeteria.
They had just gone to meet the vice president, and after checking up on her injuries, the group had retreated to give the Frosts some privacy to discuss matters amongst themselves.
The other representatives of the student council who had tagged along with them had already returned to class for the next lecture, which was going to start in around fifteen minutes or so.
Vienna had felt a little hungry, so she made Amelia tag along with her to the cafeteria, and by sheer coincidence, Yennifer was also headed in the same direction.
So that had resulted in the three royal princesses being together.
"I wouldn’t say complications, but they sure have their own issues to deal with."
Amelia’s response earned her a light smack on her shoulder from the Elven princess, who looked at her with narrowed eyes.
"Isn’t that the same thing?"
"It isn’t."
"..."
Yennifer didn’t interrupt the intellectual conversation between the two girls who were supposed to be the princesses of two of the strongest major powers in the world.
Her silence wasn’t due to being intimidated by their presence.
No.
She had no need to be scared of either of them.
Yennifer’s silence naturally stemmed from her decision to stay strategic and observe and analyse the specimens before her.
Only by doing so would she understand what words would be the best to be naturally compatible with the two princesses.
Yennifer’s cold approach could be considered a hindrance to building and maintaining social circles, something which was of paramount importance to royals who had to constantly engage with their vassals and subjects.
But Yennifer believed otherwise.
In her opinion, being upfront with the intention of forming friendships or close bonds was counterproductive in some cases.
And even if the percentage was low, Yennifer had no interest in taking avoidable risks.
A person was more prone to feel a bond with someone who may have been indifferent to them all the time.
Even the slightest hint of warmth from a cold person was guaranteed to be more impactful than a cheerful person giving warm and positive vibes all the time.
That was how social psychology worked, and over the years, Yennifer had become quite proficient in it.
Though Yennifer wasn’t arrogant enough to think that she was the best in that regard.
She knew very well that there was always a bigger fish out there, so being arrogant was the final nail in the coffin to defeat and... death.
