Chapter 108: Trouble That Comes Knocking

Sophie Wexler was completely unaware of the storm she had caused.

After the test was completed, she was escorted back to her residence by dedicated personnel.

She stared at the chat history on her communicator, which ended with the last message she had sent. The other side hadn’t replied.

’Is he busy?’

’Why else wouldn’t he reply?’

Sophie Wexler was a little puzzled but didn’t dwell on it. Just then, a message came in from Benjamin Wyatt.

He first asked about her test results, and Sophie told him the truth.

The next second, a video call popped up.

As soon as Sophie accepted the call, a voice boomed from the virtual screen in front of her.

"What did you say?" Benjamin Wyatt’s eyes widened. "3S!"

His voice was deafening, thick with shock.

Under his incredulous gaze, Sophie Wexler slowly nodded.

For a moment, Benjamin Wyatt couldn’t believe his eyes or his ears.

He knew Sophie Wexler’s previous Level, but the gap between SS and 3S was a chasm, nearly impossible to cross.

Although he had hoped Sophie Wexler could break through to 3S, he knew how difficult it was, so his expectations weren’t very high.

But now she was telling him that she had easily reached a level most people could never hope to achieve in a lifetime—and in such a short time, no less.

How could anyone not be shocked by that!

Benjamin Wyatt was stunned for a long moment before he recovered. He clutched his chest, suppressed his shock, and finally said, "You’re going to be busy."

Sophie Wexler: "Hm? Why do you say that?"

"You know how rare 3S is." Benjamin Wyatt sat back down. Seeing Sophie Wexler nod, he continued slowly, "Once the High Rank individuals find out, they will definitely try every trick in the book to get close to you before the matching banquet."

"How so?" Sophie Wexler asked, confused.

"Think about it. When the time comes, are you more likely to choose a complete stranger, or someone you’ve met and have a good feeling about?"

"Once they learn your Level, they will naturally do everything they can to get close to you to increase their chances of being chosen."

Sophie Wexler: "Can’t I just not choose anyone?"

’Why do I have to pick one of those two options?’

She had only come because attendance at this matching banquet was mandatory; she never intended to actually choose someone.

"Others might be able to, but you..." Benjamin Wyatt shook his head. "It’s highly unlikely."

The moment Sophie Wexler’s Level was revealed, it was a clear signal that she had to choose a matching partner. If she didn’t, someone would naturally choose for her.

In the face of Benjamin Wyatt’s gaze, Sophie Wexler understood his meaning almost instantly. "..."

’I knew it! This Capital Planet is my jinx!’

"Is there no other way?"

Benjamin Wyatt shook his head. "No."

The next moment, he paused, his gaze distant as he muttered to himself, "Well, it’s not entirely impossible... if he’s willing..."

Before he could finish, Benjamin Wyatt clamped his mouth shut. Cillian Forrest’s identity could not be revealed.

"What did you say?" Sophie Wexler saw his lips move but only faintly heard something about being "willing."

"Nothing." Benjamin Wyatt looked up. "I was saying, if you had a powerful backer that made those people hesitant, then you wouldn’t have to choose either."

’A powerful backer...’ Sophie Wexler lowered her gaze. ’Who could I possibly know?’

"Ah, let’s not get into that. Just be careful recently, and don’t get tricked," Benjamin Wyatt advised.

’As for everything else, Cillian Forrest will definitely handle it for her. I don’t need to worry.’

"Right, besides the matching, there’s nothing else going on. You can use this time to write more songs or record some videos. I’ll get them over the firewall and post them on Karath. Your fans are going crazy waiting for you."

Hearing Benjamin Wyatt’s words, Sophie Wexler nodded. "I understand."

Benjamin Wyatt then went over some work-related matters, mostly concerning things on Karath, such as her song sales and the progress of some collaborations that had been arranged a while ago.

After that, he ended the call.

There was still some time between the end of the test and the opening of the matching application system.

For the next few days, Sophie Wexler didn’t contact Cillian Forrest. She stayed in her residence, recorded some videos for Benjamin Wyatt as he’d suggested, and had nothing else to do.

She grew bored after a while and decided to go out.

There were dedicated aircraft provided for them, which made getting around convenient.

’Since I’m already on the Capital Planet, I can’t just stay cooped up in my room. I should go out and look around. Otherwise, what’s the point of coming here?’

Several of the women living next to her had already been out, and sometimes she could hear them excitedly discussing their outings.

Sophie Wexler had just stepped out of the Healer-class residence, wondering where she should go, when she saw someone walking straight toward her.

And it wasn’t just one person.

"Hello, Miss Wexler. I am from the Rayne Family. My name is Sean Rayne. It’s a pleasure to meet you."

The next second, another man appeared before Sophie Wexler. Flashing what he thought was a perfect smile, he said, "Miss Wexler, I’m Vegasol. Are you heading out, Miss Wexler? I can be your driver."

They had originally planned to "run into" Sophie Wexler, but to their dismay, she hadn’t left her residence.

That was why they had come here, to see if they could find her. Who knew they weren’t the only ones with that idea.

Watching the two men approach her, Shane Thorne cursed them internally. ’Idiots.’

’I don’t know how these families choose their representatives. They send a bunch of fools like this and actually expect to be matched with a 3S Healer-class.’

He had been the first to arrive but didn’t expect these two fools to show up later. When they saw him, they had even made false pleasantries, claiming they knew they had no chance of being matched and were just going through the motions.

But the moment the Healer-class appeared, they rushed straight over, as if afraid of being a second too late.

Shane Thorne watched the scene from afar and sneered inwardly. ’What did I say? Idiots.’

Rushing up to introduce themselves like this, without any preparation, would only disgust her.

Shane Thorne’s eyes were cold. He shot them a final glance from a distance and turned to leave.

’Today’s a bust. I’ll have to find another chance.’

Sophie Wexler didn’t notice the man in the distance at all. The sudden appearance of these two in front of her had left her momentarily stunned.

She took two steps back and looked up, scrutinizing the men before her.

Noticing Sophie Wexler’s gaze upon them, the two men almost instantly struck what they believed to be their most handsome poses and expressions.

They were trying to leave a good impression on the Healer-class. After all, their family backgrounds and looks were top-tier, and they usually had no shortage of admirers.

They naturally assumed Sophie Wexler would be the same. After all, how worldly could someone from a subsidiary planet be?

Sophie Wexler watched them with cold eyes. Now she understood what Benjamin Wyatt had meant by "trouble" and "busy."

Although Benjamin Wyatt had said people would try to get close by any means necessary, this pickup attempt was just pathetic.

"I don’t know you," Sophie Wexler said coldly.

"And I have no desire to. Please leave."

"It seems Miss Wexler doesn’t know who we are. Allow me to introduce myself again. My family is..."

Before he could finish, a man’s voice came from behind them. "Didn’t you hear what Miss Wexler said?"
