Chapter 46: The Big Shot in the Livestream

The entire venue fell unusually quiet, with only Sophie Wexler’s voice echoing softly.

All eyes were fixed on the person on stage, the surprise and astonishment in their gazes impossible to hide.

Felix York was also watching the person on stage, his mind reeling. ’So this is the power of an S-rank Healer-class?!’

It calmed their once-turbulent Spiritual Seas, leaving them perfectly serene.

In the live stream, the audience was completely immersed in her beautiful song.

They didn’t even react when it was over, not until Sophie Wexler’s slender fingers rested on the piano keys, playing a final, brisk chord to conclude the piece.

The moment the song ended, the stream’s chat instantly exploded with comments. This had practically become a tradition for Sophie Wexler’s streams.

Listen quietly during the song, and once it ends, unleash a deluge of comments and a dazzling array of gift effects.

The gift animations, in particular, exploded one after another, completely burying the image on the screen.

[I love you, streamer!]

[Sue, wifey, I love you!!!]

[Hey, person above, are you still dreaming? Wake up! What do you mean *your* wifey? She’s *my* wifey! Wifey, look at the gift I sent you!]

The moment they finished typing, a gift animation appeared on the screen: a spaceship.

[LMAO, you think one measly spaceship is enough to make a Healer-class your wifey? You’d need a warship at the very least.]

On this platform, a spaceship cost 10,000 Star Coins, while a warship cost 100,000—a full ten times more.

It was the platform’s most expensive gift; you almost never saw anyone send one.

[So what? I’ll call her wifey if I want to! I’m gonna do it!]

Sophie Wexler watched the comments flash across the screen, a small smile playing on her lips.

’I have to admit,’ she thought, ’this audience is pretty cute.’

As for being called "wifey," she was completely fine with it. After all, back on Aethel, her fans had called her all sorts of things—never mind "wifey," some had even called her "hubby."

The even bolder ones would shout to her face that they wanted to have her babies.

Just as she was thinking this, a massive gift animation exploded on screen. An imposing warship filled the display, a truly commanding sight.

Wait!

Not just one. They came one after another, the warship animations completely dominating the screen and totally obscuring the comments below.

Worthy of being the platform’s most expensive gift, the animation was crafted with incredible detail. She had thought the spaceship animation was impressive, but seeing the warship made it pale in comparison.

The animation lasted for a long time, too.

[HOLY CRAP, HOLY CRAP, HOLY CRAP!]

Nearly everyone in the stream was blown away by the gift.

What was going on?!

[What tycoon is this, dropping dozens of warships at once! They just made it rain tens of millions of Star Coins in the streamer’s chat!]

[So loaded! Seriously, so loaded! I’ve never seen so many warships in a single stream before! This is a real eye-opener!]

[Boss, you’re absurdly rich! How much must you love the streamer to do this?]

[Congrats to the big shot for becoming the new Top Donator on Sue’s stream!]

Because of this massive donation, the stream shot to number one on the platform’s gift leaderboard.

Attracted by the buzz, tons of people flocked to the stream to see what was happening. Sophie Wexler’s popularity surged once more. This time, she wasn’t just number one in the entertainment category; her stream was now one of the top-ranked on the entire StarNet, and the chat was boiling over with excitement.

Sophie Wexler, of course, saw the donation, and a flicker of astonishment crossed her beautiful eyes.

’She never expected to receive such a massive donation.’ She started to say something, but realizing where she was, she swallowed the words on the tip of her tongue.

This soothing session would surely require more than one song. Sophie Wexler looked away from the chat, refocused her mind, and her hands on the piano began to move again.

As the music swelled, she began the next song.

The soldiers in the audience had no idea what had just transpired in the live stream during Sophie Wexler’s brief pause.

Only Felix York glanced at Cillian Forrest beside him.

He saw the Marshal’s gaze lift from his Light Brain before he put it away, his expression composed.

Felix York was puzzled. The Marshal had been looking at his Light Brain for a while. ’Could it be news from The Capital Planet?’ he wondered.

But Cillian Forrest’s face betrayed no emotion, so Felix York could only push his confusion aside and turn his attention back to Sophie Wexler on the stage.

Sophie Wexler sang several songs in a row. Her throat began to feel strained, and she could tell her spiritual power was significantly depleted.

During a brief pause, she checked her Spiritual Sea.

’I can probably manage two more if I push myself.’

In the audience, Cillian Forrest immediately noticed something was off. He turned and said something to Felix York beside him.

Felix York’s brow furrowed for a moment, but then he nodded.

Just as Sophie Wexler was about to continue, she glanced down and saw Felix York stand up from his seat.

A flicker of confusion crossed Sophie Wexler’s eyes. ’What’s happening?’

She watched as Felix York walked toward her, stopping just out of the camera’s view. "That will be all for today," he said.

Sophie Wexler: "?"

She looked questioningly toward Cillian Forrest in the audience and saw him nod as well.

"Alright." She had planned on singing two more songs, but since General York had said so, Sophie Wexler didn’t press the issue.

She turned to the stream. "Thank you, everyone. That’s all for today. Goodbye."

Without another glance at the chat, Sophie Wexler ended the stream.

The moment Felix York stepped onto the stage, the soldiers below were finally jolted from the spell of her song.

"That concludes today’s performance. I hope it was helpful to you all," Sophie Wexler said to the crowd below, closing the piano lid and standing up.

’Helpful? It was a massive help!’

Every one of them looked at Sophie Wexler with shining eyes. If Felix York hadn’t been on stage, they would have rushed up to her in the next second to express their gratitude.

"Miss Wexler, you’re incredible! My Spiritual Sea has never been this calm before!"

"Miss Wexler, your songs are amazing! Can we find them on the StarNet? I’m going to add them to my favorites as soon as I get back and listen to them nonstop!"

"Yeah, totally! Miss Wexler, you’re my goddess!"

"From now on, you’re the number one Healer-class in my heart!"

Although they didn’t rush the stage, everyone was incredibly excited, shouting one after another to express their adoration for Sophie Wexler.

Some even stood up from their seats, waving enthusiastically at Sophie Wexler.

Sophie Wexler hadn’t expected them to be so enthusiastic; she had simply done her duty to the best of her ability.

"Thank you. I’m just glad it was helpful," Sophie Wexler said, her eyes crinkling into a smile.

Then she saw Cillian Forrest rise from his seat and walk to her side. He looked at Felix York and said, "She needs to rest."
