Chapter 111: Marshal, Have You Submitted an Application?

The news completely blew up StarNet. It struck like a bolt of lightning, sending a shockwave through everyone’s hearts that took a long time to subside.

[What! 3S! Didn’t they say she was S+ before?!]

[Who the hell is this 3S Healer?! Does anyone have any concrete info? I’m dying to know!]

[I can just imagine how many matching applications that Healer-class individual is going to get.]

[Her application queue is going to explode!]

Due to the Level restrictions, only those of the same Level or higher could even see the 3S Healer-class individual’s information in the matching system, not to mention that most people couldn’t access the matching system at all.

But compared to the netizens, the ones who felt the shock most acutely were those who actually saw Sophie Wexler’s Level with their own eyes.

After all, only a select few had received the news beforehand; the vast majority only found out after entering the matching system.

Based on their own Level, the system would push a selection of candidates to them. They could view the specific details of these candidates and then choose to submit an application.

After an application was submitted, the Light Brain would perform a precise calculation to determine if the applicant met the conditions. If they did, the application would be approved, and they would become a matching candidate.

The moment they logged in, they saw the person listed right at the very top.

Her information was different from the others. Everyone else’s profile was listed in great detail: name, age, Level, home planet, family background, and appearance.

These were all mandatory fields, but her profile only had two pieces of information.

[Name: Sophie Wexler, Level Assessment: 3S]

Their minds instantly went blank with a buzz, and they couldn’t even believe their eyes.

3S!!!

They had to check again and again, several times over, just to confirm they weren’t mistaken.

The next moment, they were drowned in a wave of immense ecstasy.

Forget 3S; usually, it was impossible to even see an S-Level individual.

Everyone knew perfectly well what a 3S Healer-class individual represented.

In an instant, nearly every single person who met the requirements submitted a matching application.

On one end, the number of applications in the matching system was increasing at a visible rate.

「Meanwhile, at the royal court.」

Your Majesty sat on his throne, faced with a crowd of people all asking about Sophie Wexler.

One by one, they spoke of how severe their children’s Disorder Periods were, lamenting the agony of having their Spiritual Seas constantly ravaged.

They claimed that if this Healer-class individual matched with their family, they would treat her with the highest possible honors, and so on and so forth.

The clamor quickly gave Your Majesty a headache.

He waved his hand. "Enough. I know you’re all anxious, but the matching must follow procedure. Go back and submit your applications first."

The crowd wanted to say more, but seeing that Your Majesty had already closed his eyes, they ultimately said nothing and departed in silence, one after another.

After they left, the conference room was instantly empty and fell silent.

Your Majesty reached up to rub his throbbing temples and sighed softly.

"Cillian," he said, his voice laced with fatigue, "who do you think this Healer-class individual will ultimately choose?"

Cillian Forrest emerged from a door behind him and sat in the chair next to Your Majesty. He lowered his gaze and replied, "I don’t know."

"True. The final match is still primarily based on the Healer’s own wishes." Your Majesty opened his eyes and looked at Cillian Forrest beside him. "However, the candidates must be chosen with care."

Although anyone who meets the Level requirement can apply, not everyone is approved. Generally, each Healer-class individual has about ten candidates.

But given Sophie Wexler’s high Level, she might have more.

His thoughts turned to the candidates themselves. "You will be in charge of screening them."

The meaning behind His Majesty’s words could not have been clearer.

Although the Light Brain pushed the recommendations, the Royal Family could still perform a further screening of the approved candidates.

’If only his son, Shawn Thorne, were old enough,’ Your Majesty sighed to himself.

His health was declining day by day, and outside forces were watching like hungry tigers.

Even if Shawn Thorne couldn’t match with this Sophie Wexler, they had to ensure the chosen candidate was from their faction to guarantee their faction’s stability.

With that thought, he raised his eyes to Cillian Forrest, who was sitting beside him. After a long moment, he spoke slowly, "Cillian Forrest, have you submitted an application?"

’If there was anyone most suitable, the man before him was undoubtedly the best choice.’

Cillian Forrest’s fingers, resting at his side, gently rubbed together. He pressed his lips together and said nothing.

Meanwhile, Ethan Cross finished his work and went to find Leo Fane.

Leo Fane had been secretly protecting Sophie Wexler during this time, so the two of them hadn’t seen much of each other.

The moment they met, Ethan Cross asked curiously, "Do you think the Marshal will match with Miss Wexler this time?"

The Marshal had never once opened his matching channel at any of the previous matching banquets.

But this time, Miss Wexler is here. She and the Marshal spent so much time together, and he doesn’t seem to have any aversion to her at all. Plus, her Level is the highest ever to appear in the Empire.

So, will he do it this time?

Leo Fane wanted to know too. But from the start of the spiritual power assessment all the way to the opening of the application channel, the Marshal had shown no sign of anything unusual. He didn’t seem like someone preparing to match at all.

And yet, he was so obviously concerned about Miss Wexler.

Why else would he have taken time out of his incredibly busy schedule to see Miss Wexler twice?

He was so busy he didn’t even have time to sleep some days, yet he still made time to go see her.

He even had the Royal Family’s personal chefs prepare meals for her.

"Why don’t you go ask the Marshal?" Ethan Cross said to Leo Fane.

The two exchanged a look. Ethan finally relented, "Fine. Let’s go together."

’Oh well,’ Ethan thought. ’If we get chewed out, at least Leo Fane will be there to take the heat with me.’

Having made up their minds, the two headed for Cillian Forrest’s office.

Cillian Forrest was sitting in his chair, a large pile of documents and holographic projections laid out before him. He listened as Leo Fane finished reporting on Sophie Wexler’s recent situation, confirming that she hadn’t been subjected to any more baseless harassment.

He hummed in acknowledgment. "Understood. Continue the mission."

"Yes, Marshal," Leo Fane replied.

After he spoke, a long moment passed in silence. Ethan Cross was frantically gesturing with his eyes at Leo Fane, signaling for him to speak up.

Cillian Forrest put down his pen and looked up at his two adjutants. "Is there something else?"

Both of them had an expression that suggested they wanted to speak but were hesitating.

"If you have something to say, say it," Cillian Forrest said, leaning back in his chair. "If not, get out. And close the door on your way."

Seeing that Cillian Forrest was serious about telling them to leave, Ethan Cross immediately spoke up, "We do, we do."

"Marshal, we have something to discuss."

"Speak," Cillian Forrest said with a slight lift of his chin.

"It’s just... are you still not planning to match with a Healer-class individual this year?" Ethan Cross asked, a hint of caution in his voice.

He even rushed to add, "Um, we’re only asking because Miss Wexler is here this time."

They didn’t know the current state of the Marshal’s Spiritual Sea problem, but it was certainly extremely severe.

Miss Wexler’s Level was so high, and the two had spent so much time together. A match would undoubtedly be the best possible outcome.
