"You're the person who called me?"

After hearing Jovian introduce himself, Nono immediately understood.

"Clever girl."

Jovian praised her sincerely. Nono truly was remarkably intelligent. It was no wonder Lu Mingfei was hopelessly in love with her.

"The information you mentioned about me before..."

Nono asked about what Jovian had said over the phone regarding her true identity.

"It was all true."

"You're a clever girl, so you should understand that the Gattuso family would never allow a woman they hadn't personally selected to get close to Caesar. He represents the future of their family, their most precious treasure, carefully protected in the palms of their hands."

Jovian's tone was teasing.

"Hah..."

"Why do I get the feeling that the heir of the Gattuso family means absolutely nothing to you?"

Nono laughed softly. She sensed another meaning behind his words.

"Does he?"

"Whether it's Caesar or the entire Gattuso family, they're nothing but ants I could crush whenever I please."

Jovian continued smiling, but that calm smile sent a chill down Nono's spine.

She was certain he was not joking.

Jovian meant every word.

"Before entering this place, I would've called anyone who said that a lunatic. Only a madman would describe Italy's most famous dragon-slaying family as ants. But..."

Nono looked toward the distant end of the road, where thick fog continued to churn.

"Everything I've seen here tells me you're speaking the truth. Are all of you... dragons?"

"They are dragons. I stand above dragons."

Jovian sat in the passenger seat and gazed calmly into the rolling fog ahead.

The game was nearly over.

"Above dragons?"

Nono was confused. She could not understand what it meant to stand above dragons.

"Lu Mingfei will be back soon."

"There's something I need to tell you. I'm taking Chu Zihang and Chu Tianjiao with me. I'll also be taking Lu Mingfei."

"That leaves only you."

"You carry many secrets of your own. I believe you understand that better than I do."

"My original plan was to knock you unconscious and take you as well, but someone needs to deliver a message to Cassell College, so I'll let you go. Of course, you're also free to come with me. I can always send someone else to deliver the message."

Jovian sat elegantly in the passenger seat with his legs crossed, not even bothering to wear his seat belt.

"Uh..."

"Please give me the message."

"I'll deliver it for you."

After thinking it over, Nono decided that returning to the college was the wiser choice.

"Very well."

"Tell everyone at Cassell College that their game of dragon slaying can come to an end."

"When I eventually arrive at the college, I expect everyone at Cassell to scatter flower petals along the road before me."

Jovian gave Nono a long, meaningful look as he spoke.

"I'll make sure they receive your message."

Nono nodded, promising to repeat Jovian's exact words to everyone at Cassell College.

"Then we'll meet again."

"I have a feeling that day isn't far away."

As Jovian finished speaking, three silhouettes seemed to emerge from the fog.

The mist then drifted into the car and filled every part of Nono's vision.

She had no idea when she fell asleep.

By the time she awakened, a man resembling a proud lion was standing beside her.

After learning what had happened to Nono, he had traveled all the way from Italy aboard a private jet.

He had come for one reason alone, to confirm her safety as quickly as possible.

"Caesar, someone asked me to deliver a message to Cassell's leadership."

Nono remained remarkably calm when she saw him, as though she had already expected his arrival. She then repeated everything Jovian had told her.

"I understand."

Caesar frowned and nodded slightly.

"Get some rest."

After reassuring Nono, Caesar left the hospital room.

For reasons he could not explain, his heart refused to settle. He felt as though something ominous was about to happen.

Elsewhere, the Cassell College Board had convened an emergency meeting.

All seven people standing at the peak of its power structure were in attendance.

There were two subjects under discussion.

The first was the disappearance of Lu Mingfei, the only S-rank student currently enrolled at Cassell College.

The second was the true identity of the man named Jovian.

Both issues were causing the Board a tremendous headache.

No matter who he was, the commander who had appeared out of nowhere was already severely undermining the dragon-slaying families' control over the hybrid community.

There were even reports that pureblood dragons served beneath him.

A pureblood dragon would never submit to someone with an inferior bloodline, much less serve a hybrid.

That meant there was a strong possibility that the commander was himself a pureblood Dragon King.

That possibility was deeply alarming.

No one understood better than hybrids what kind of catastrophe a fully awakened Dragon King could unleash upon the world.

"What do you think, Anjou?"

The representative of the Gattuso family turned toward Anjou.

In truth, he did not particularly care whether the commander was actually a dragon. His only concern was the Gattuso family's influence within the hybrid world.

He was worried that the commander who had already targeted Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang would eventually set his sights on Caesar, the heir of the Gattuso family.

According to their investigation, the commander appeared to be specifically targeting hybrids with powerful bloodlines.

"What do I think?"

"Before asking me, perhaps each of you should explain what you think about this situation."

Anjou was an old man who stood at the very pinnacle of the hybrid world. Unlike the others, he had earned his place on the Board through overwhelming personal strength.

He already had his own opinion regarding Jovian, but before revealing it, he needed to confirm something.

He wanted to know whether the others shared his objective, or at the very least, whether they still pursued the same ultimate goal.

"What exactly do you mean, Anjou?" the Gattuso representative asked.

"It's simple. I need to confirm one thing."

"I need to know whether everyone here still remembers why our college was founded."

"That's right. Our purpose is to slay dragons."

"If this commander truly is a dragon, will everyone here still raise their blades and turn them against the dragon race?"

"I'm afraid that some people might raise their weapons, only to turn them against their own allies."

Anjou sighed with melancholy.

Human beings could never fully understand one another. Only shared interests allowed them to reach any genuine understanding.

He feared that some people, when offered sufficient benefits, would even betray everything they supposedly represented.

"Everyone here carries the weight of tremendous honor! None of us would ever betray our mission!" the Gattuso representative declared loudly.

"Is that so?"

"I don't believe everyone feels the same way."

Anjou shook his head.

Through his heightened senses, he had already detected more than forty people approaching the conference room through the rear entrance.

He doubted they were coming to share a drink.

"What do you mean?" the Gattuso representative asked.

"Get down!"

Anjou did not answer. He merely gestured for the Board members to take cover beneath the table.

"What?"

Before they could understand what was happening, the conference room doors suddenly burst open, revealing row after row of black gun barrels.

"Fuck!"

The Board members finally reacted and scrambled beneath the table.

Gunfire erupted the next second.

Thick smoke and the bitter stench of gunpowder filled the entire room as bullets tore through everything in sight.

The barrage continued for five full minutes.

When the armed men finally appeared to have exhausted their ammunition, a powerful gust ripped through the dense smoke.

An elegant old man emerged from the haze, holding a butterfly knife as he calmly approached the heavily armed unit.

"Reload!"

The soldiers remained composed when they saw the elderly man and immediately began replacing their magazines.

Just as they started reloading, the second hand on the conference room clock abruptly stopped.

It looked as though the clock had broken.

No, it was not merely the clock.

The soldiers had also stopped moving.

Time itself seemed to have frozen.

Within that completely motionless world, only the elderly man holding the butterfly knife could move.

Still smiling, he walked calmly toward them.

Click.

The instant the second hand began moving again, every black-clad attacker collapsed unconscious to the floor.

The old man in the suit had already returned to his original seat at the Board's conference table.

"An attack?"

"Someone tried to eliminate us?"

"Damn it! Once I return, I'll investigate this thoroughly and find the idiot who thought he could kill us!"

The Gattuso representative cursed as he crawled out from beneath the table.

As far as he was concerned, the gunfire had been a direct and intolerable challenge to the Gattuso family.

"If all you want is the identity of the person who ordered the attack, there's no need to investigate."

"He's already here."

Anjou sat at one end of the conference table. A cold light shone behind the lenses of his glasses.

Clap. Clap. Clap.

"As expected of Principal Anjou, the man known as the strongest hybrid. Your skills are every bit as impressive as the stories claim."

Applause echoed through the room.

A man who had somehow appeared at the opposite end of the conference table began praising Anjou.

"You must be the commander we've heard so much about," Anjou said.

The man wore an immaculate suit and held a glass of red wine, gently swirling it with an elegant motion.

"Are you referring to the mastermind behind the disappearances of Lu Mingfei and Chu Zihang, the thief who took Cassell College's Dragon Bone Cross, and Japan's new father?"

"If so, then yes, that would probably be me."

The suited man spoke with complete indifference.

"What? You stole the Dragon Bone Cross too? You..."

One Board member shouted furiously after hearing his admission.

The moment he met the suited man's eyes, however, his legs gave out and he collapsed onto the floor.

"Ladies and gentlemen."

"A new age has arrived."

"There is no place in this new age for relics like you."

"Join me now. Submit to me, and you may still have a future."

The suited man was naturally Jovian.

Seated comfortably in a place reserved for a Board member, he extended an invitation to the assembled leadership of Cassell College.

"Submit to you? Who do you think we are?"

One of the Board members glared at Jovian and roared in fury.

"I possess technology capable of transforming hybrids into pureblood dragons."

Jovian crossed his legs as he addressed them.

"Heh."

"Words alone prove nothing. You'll have to show me before I believe you."

The Board member sneered, then immediately dropped to one knee before Jovian.

"What about the rest of you?"

"Do you still not understand? The families behind you have already abandoned you. They intend to become the new dragon race, while you're nothing but the ghosts of a dying age."

"Do you truly intend to stand against the future?"

Jovian challenged the remaining Board members.

"This..."

The Board members exchanged shocked looks.

Everyone in the room was intelligent. They understood that Jovian's claims were entirely plausible.

"It appears you need a little encouragement."

Jovian shook his head helplessly at the hesitant Board members.

He removed the leather shoe from his right foot and tossed it across the room.

"What is that supposed to mean?" one of the Board members asked in confusion.

"The first person to retrieve it will immediately have his bloodline purified."

"I'll transform him into a pureblood dragon and grant him eternal life."

Jovian smiled faintly.

"I see..."

"Don't think you can humiliate us however you please with such a childish trick!"

The Board member shouted as he became the first person to charge toward Jovian's shoe.

"There's no reason for you to trouble yourself. Leave this matter to me!"

The other Board members raced after him.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk."

Jovian shook his head as he watched the supposedly dignified Board members fight viciously over his discarded shoe.

A chaotic struggle erupted.

Only two people remained before Jovian.

One was Anjou.

The other was the Gattuso family's representative.

"You fight him while I run?" the Gattuso representative suggested to Anjou.

"How about you fight him while I run?" Anjou countered.

"Good luck!"

The Gattuso representative turned and fled without hesitation.

"Now, let me take a proper look at exactly what kind of creature you are."

Anjou fully activated his Yanling in an instant.

The terrifying power of Time Zero pushed his speed to its absolute limit.

He walked through a world that belonged exclusively to him, steadily approaching Jovian.

"Heh."

"Are you really in such a hurry?"

"Before we start fighting, could you at least let me have a cup of coffee?"

When Anjou reached Jovian, the man who should have been completely motionless suddenly smiled.

"What?"

Anjou was stunned.

Someone had entered the private world created by his Yanling.

"That's an extremely useful Yanling. It must improve your productivity tremendously."

Jovian calmly offered his evaluation.

Anjou remained silent.

He did not answer a single word.
