The Viltrumite Across the Worlds

Chapter 291: This Is a Kidnapping

"You'd better not bully my dear brother."

"If you push my beloved brother too far, I might kill all of you."

The little devil had completely taken control of Lu Mingfei's body. In the blink of an eye, the pathetic loser had transformed into a mysterious merchant radiating a dark, seductive aura.

"From where I'm standing, you treat him even worse than I do. You demand his life in exchange for power at the drop of a hat. That's not how brothers are supposed to treat each other," Jovian replied with an unbothered smile.

"I would never bully him."

"I'm the only person in this world who will love my brother forever and ever."

Lu Mingze shook his head. As far as he was concerned, he had never bullied Lu Mingfei. All he felt for him was a profound love. It was simply so deep that ordinary people could never understand it.

Jovian chuckled softly after hearing his answer.

"Tell me, why did you force me to come out? Are you after authority, raw power, or both?" Lu Mingze asked as he sat across from Jovian.

"I don't need either of them."

Jovian shook his head. He had no need for authority or strength because he already wielded more of both than anyone else.

"You don't need authority or power?"

Lu Mingze froze for a moment before noticing Xia Mi and Erii standing behind Jovian.

"Heh."

"Don't tell me you actually believe that the little strength you possess is the greatest power in existence."

"You know nothing about true power. In the face of absolute strength, the cards in your hand are nowhere near enough."

Lu Mingze sneered. The moment he saw Xia Mi and Erii, he finally understood who had been responsible for the incident in the Well of Annihilation, deep beneath Cassell College's Ice Cellar.

Controlling a Dragon Emperor and an artificial Dragon Emperor was certainly terrifying, but Lu Mingze showed no concern whatsoever. He knew that such strength would be utterly meaningless before his brother.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk."

Jovian clicked his tongue and wagged a finger at him.

"I was talking about even greater strength and far greater authority."

Jovian was somewhat disappointed. He had expected Lu Mingze to think on a grander scale, but unfortunately, even he remained trapped within the belief that dragons had to remain mysterious and hidden from the public.

Then again, if Lu Mingze had ever managed to escape that framework, he would not have created a boring secret organization containing only a handful of people. He would have quietly seized control of several countries instead. Even if he could not control one of the major powers, Europe still had plenty of smaller nations.

Why insist on playing mysterious games? Wouldn't it be far more interesting to make his moves openly under an official identity?

Those who forever hid in the shadows could never defeat the so-called forces of "justice" and "light."

Lu Mingze merely smiled, clearly paying no attention to Jovian's words.

Jovian saw that he remained unconvinced and could not be bothered to explain. He simply continued smiling.

"Human, you have interfered far too deeply in the affairs of our world. Eventually, your actions will consume you. When I return to this world, every traitor shall perish!"

The instant Lu Mingze finished speaking, his brilliant Golden Eyes ignited. Searing draconic majesty filled the small room, accompanied by an overwhelmingly powerful Yanling domain.

Xia Mi's and Erii's hearts trembled. They instinctively tried to deploy their own domains in resistance, only to discover that their Yanling seemed to have stopped working. No matter what they did, they could not release their powers in Lu Mingze's presence.

It was a terrifying development.

There were only a handful of beings in the world capable of preventing the Dragon Emperor of Earth and Mountain and an incomplete White Emperor from properly using their Yanling.

"So you really didn't die. You were the one in the Ice Cellar too, weren't you?"

After sensing that familiar and unmistakable Yanling domain, Xia Mi's beautiful face filled with complicated emotions. She had already formed a vague guess regarding Lu Mingze's true identity.

"You're still as beautiful as ever."

Lu Mingze gave Xia Mi a playful smile. Though it sounded like a meaningless joke, his response was effectively an admission.

He was indeed the monster who had appeared in the Ice Cellar, altered the bloodlines of others, and stood at the absolute pinnacle of the world.

Clap. Clap. Clap.

"Not bad. That's some impressive pressure."

"It feels wonderful, like a warm spring breeze."

While Lu Mingze and Xia Mi were catching up, Jovian brought his hands together and applauded Lu Mingze's display of power.

Lu Mingze frowned at Jovian's relaxed demeanor.

As Dragon Emperors, Xia Mi and Erii could endure his Yanling domain without being forced to kneel. That was barely understandable.

But Jovian was supposedly human. How could a human withstand his majesty so effortlessly?

It should have been utterly impossible for a human to resist the majesty of a pureblood dragon.

Unless...

Unless Jovian was not human at all.

Lu Mingze suddenly laughed.

"Interesting. This truly is fascinating. I never expected this. I was wondering how an ordinary human could command two Dragon Emperors as his subordinates, but now I understand. It seems I've been disrespectful. How should I address you?"

"Hm? Did I ever hide my name?" Jovian asked with a smile. "I told you from the beginning. My name is Jovian."

"A name drawn from the king of the Roman gods?"

"Why would someone associated with Rome's king of the gods leave his own mythology and come all the way here to find me?"

Lu Mingze looked thoughtful. By now, he was nearly certain that Jovian was another being of his kind.

It was perfectly normal for dragons to adopt names derived from the gods of human mythology. After all, many myths written by humans had been adapted from the history of dragons.

The White Emperor, for example, had once been known as Izanami in Japanese mythology.

However, as far as Lu Mingze remembered, the dragon who had assumed the identity of Rome's king of the gods should already have died.

Jovian could tell from Lu Mingze's expression that he had completely misunderstood the situation. He neither corrected him nor bothered to explain.

"I heard that a one-eyed god riding an eight-legged horse lives around here. Frankly, his existence annoys me. Don't you think there are already too many kings of the gods in this world?"

"I see."

Lu Mingze finally understood why Jovian had come looking for him.

"How do we divide the spoils?"

Lu Mingze looked at Jovian, Xia Mi, and Erii and immediately began discussing how they would split the rewards after killing the one-eyed god.

He had already seen the inevitable outcome of that battle. Four against one, no matter how powerful the one-eyed god might be, there was no possible way for him to turn the situation around.

"There are four of us, so naturally, everyone gets one quarter."

Jovian happily began dividing the imaginary pie.

"Tsk, tsk."

"You really are greedy."

Lu Mingze could not help clicking his tongue at Jovian.

"Enough games. Are you in or not?" Jovian asked.

"Heh. Playing along with you does sound rather entertaining, but whether we cooperate ultimately depends on what my brother wants."

After saying that, Lu Mingze fell silent. A few seconds later, the body reverted to its former pathetic appearance.

"So the final decision is yours."

Jovian smiled at Lu Mingfei, who had regained control of his body.

Lu Mingfei's face remained perfectly composed.

Inside, however, he was going completely insane.

What the fuck did I just hear?

Are these three people actually three dragons? Dragons like Old Tang?

One was already bad enough, and now there are three of them at once?

If I refuse, they're definitely going to silence me, right? They're absolutely going to kill me!

Lu Mingze, come back! Get out here and help me!

Although Lu Mingfei had lost control of his body, he had witnessed the entire conversation from another perspective.

He was not an idiot. He immediately understood the problem.

There was an extremely high chance that the three people sitting before him were all Dragon Emperors.

"I agree."

After calling for Lu Mingze for a long time without receiving any response, Lu Mingfei finally accepted the proposed cooperation.

"Then the plan begins."

Jovian did not seem surprised by his decision. He smiled at Lu Mingfei before signaling Xia Mi and Erii to begin.

At Jovian's command, the subordinates he had positioned in advance sprang into action.

"Who are you?"

Out on the street, Chu Zihang frowned at the beautiful, almost feminine-looking boy blocking his path.

"Keywords: a rainy night, a highway, a Maybach, a god, a dragon slayer, and a lonely child who lost his father."

The beautiful boy remained perfectly calm as he recited a seemingly meaningless string of words.

Yet those words caused a visible tremor in the eyes of the usually expressionless Chu Zihang.

"Come with me, and I'll tell you the truth about this world," the boy continued.

"All right."

Chu Zihang nodded. He released the weapon he had been preparing to draw and followed the beautiful boy into the distance.

Elsewhere, a red Ferrari Enzo tore down the highway at a suicidal speed.

The limited-edition supercar named after Enzo Ferrari was something only the wealthiest people in the world could hope to own. Beneath the girl's foot, however, it was unleashing every bit of its ferocious performance.

"Caesar's fiancΓ©e?"

The girl had long crimson hair and wore a pair of four-leaf-clover earrings. She was breathtakingly beautiful, and at that moment, she was engaged in an equally breathtaking high-speed drive.

The car was borrowed, so she was showing it absolutely no mercy. The young man who had lent it to her could only stand by and watch as she abused the treasured car he usually could not bear to drive himself.

"How much has everyone been hiding from me?"

The girl was furious. She hated the feeling of having her fate controlled by other people, so she intended to demand the truth.

Caesar was not the only person she wanted to confront. She also had plenty to say to that awkward little sidekick of hers.

She had far too many questions.

Just as she slammed down the accelerator and transformed the Ferrari into a streak of red light, another slender figure with crimson hair suddenly appeared directly ahead of her.

By the time she saw the red-haired woman, it was already too late to brake.

"Screech!"

With a shriek resembling the roar of a dragon, the Ferrari spun wildly across the highway. It whirled like a boomerang before finally crashing into the median barrier.

The legendary supercar was instantly reduced to wreckage.

The driver, however, had somehow vanished without a trace.

"My head hurts..."

Chen Motong gradually regained consciousness. She slowly opened her eyes and stared silently at the ropes binding her body.

Before she could determine where she was, waves of pain pulsed through her head and a memory surfaced in her mind.

It was the last thing she remembered before losing consciousness.

She had seen a red-haired shrine maiden standing on the highway. Immediately afterward, she had grown dizzy.

Everything after that was blank.

"You're awake?"

While Chen Motong was sorting through her jumbled memories and studying the room, a voice beside her caught her attention.

She turned and saw an equally restrained young man with an expressionless face.

Interestingly enough, she knew him.

"No way. Even you got captured, Chu Zihang?"

Chen Motong's eyes narrowed slightly in disbelief. She knew exactly how capable Chu Zihang was. He possessed one of the highest levels of combat strength among all the students at Cassell College.

"I encountered a powerful child. He said several things related to my past, so I followed him for quite a distance. Then I felt something strike the back of my head, and when I woke up, I was here."

Chu Zihang fell silent.

He had been so focused on the boy with the abnormal bloodline that he had never expected someone to attack him from behind.

More importantly, whoever had struck him was far more terrifying than the child he had already considered troublesome.

"Uh..."

Chen Motong's naturally powerful profiling ability immediately constructed a vivid image of Chu Zihang being knocked unconscious from behind.

For the first time in her life, she wished her profiling ability were not quite so effective.

It was an embarrassingly painful image that she could have lived without seeing.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

While Chen Motong and Chu Zihang were talking, approaching footsteps echoed beyond the room.

Both of them stared intently at the heavy iron door.

Someone was coming inside.

"Find a way to stall them for one minute. I'll be free by then."

Chu Zihang maintained his usual expressionless face. Only his lips moved slightly as he whispered the message to Chen Motong.

"Understood."

After receiving his message, Chen Motong forced herself to relax and appear harmless.

No matter what happened, she had to buy Chu Zihang one minute.

Creak...

Just as both captives finished preparing themselves, the heavy iron door was gently pushed open.

A painfully familiar, miserable-looking face appeared in the doorway.

"Chu Zihang, Nono, long time no see!"

Lu Mingfei wore a white shirt and black shorts. Around his neck hung a bizarre limited-edition necklace that looked suspiciously like a toilet seat, while one hand carried a plastic bag filled with vegetables.

He looked so utterly pathetic that it was almost impressive.

"Lu Mingfei?!"

Both Chen Motong and Chu Zihang stared at him in astonishment.

They had expected the mastermind behind their abduction to enter the room.

Never in their wildest dreams had they imagined that the person appearing before them would be Lu Mingfei.
