Chapter 428: Old Ginger Is Indeed Spicier
Leng Ning was only pretending to be asleep out of shyness, of course.
Even as Jiang Xinghai made his move, she did her best to endure it.
But...
The first time he touched her, she had no choice but to "wake up" and hold his head down...
「The next morning.」
Leng Ning lay on Jiang Xinghai’s chest, fast asleep, her face flushed a healthy red.
Jiang Xinghai wanted to take the opportunity to get some rest as well, so he didn’t get out of bed.
They slept until the sun was high in the sky.
In the old house in the front courtyard, Leng Zhicheng and the others were all packing their bags, waiting for Jiang Xinghai and Leng Ning to wake up so they could head to Central State.
"Father, they aren’t still sleeping, are they? I’ve been knocking for ages with no response. You don’t think something happened, do you?" Leng Xiangnan said, approaching Leng Zhicheng.
"They’re young. Full of vigor and vitality. Not like us old folks. Don’t disturb them. We can finish off the food in the fridge for lunch today. That way, we won’t have to take it with us."
Leng Zhicheng said with a cheerful smile as he packed away his old belongings.
Leng Xiangnan scratched his head and smiled. "Alright then, I’ll arrange for lunch right away."
"By the way, where’s Leng Bing? Hasn’t he gotten up either?" Leng Zhicheng asked.
"That kid is usually an early riser. He likes to go fishing in the morning. I wonder why I haven’t seen him go fishing today." Leng Xiangnan was puzzled too as he ambled toward Leng Bing’s bedroom.
"Where do you think you’re going, you rascal? Leng Bing is a married man now. If someone’s going to wake him, it should be your wife," Leng Zhicheng chided.
"Yes, yes, you’re right to scold me, Father," Leng Xiangnan said, looking embarrassed.
It was true. After Leng Bing got married, his parents couldn’t just casually enter their son’s bedroom anymore.
CREAK.
Just then, Leng Bing happened to open the door, yawning. "Dad, Grandpa, what are you busy with?"
"Leng Bing, you look pale. Didn’t you sleep well last night?" Leng Xiangnan asked first.
Leng Zhicheng also set aside what he was doing and walked over slowly, unable to hold back a smile. "This isn’t a case of not sleeping well. I’m afraid last night was probably the best night’s sleep he’s had in months, right?"
"Grandpa, you know what they say—the older the ginger, the spicier it is," Leng Bing said with a sheepish laugh, scratching his head.
Last night, after heeding Jiang Xinghai’s advice, he had actually gone and tried it.
And just as expected.
His wife was very understanding, and after they cautiously made contact, they both experienced a new level of pleasure.
So, it was understandable that the couple had been up for a long time last night and didn’t wake up on time today.
"Hahaha, go pack your things. We’re leaving after lunch," Leng Zhicheng said with a wave of his hand.
"You got it, Grandpa." Leng Bing went back into his room.
Leng Xiangnan couldn’t help but ask, puzzled, "Father, how did you know that Leng Bing... you know... last night?"
"Last night, ahem, I accidentally overheard Jiang giving him a lesson," Leng Zhicheng said, not elaborating further.
"A lesson..."
Leng Xiangnan couldn’t figure it out for the life of him, but then it suddenly dawned on him. "I remember Jiang is a doctor. Could it be he has some kind of method?"
"What’s wrong? You’re getting on in years, are you hoping for a second spring too?" Leng Zhicheng chided.
"Father, I’m not even fifty yet, and you’re only seventy. As long as we can still get up to some trouble, we should!" Leng Xiangnan said with a sly grin as he walked toward the back courtyard.
He had just reached the door to the back courtyard and hadn’t even had a chance to knock when it opened.
"Uncle, sorry, we overslept," Leng Ning said, looking embarrassed.
Jiang Xinghai was right behind her. "Uncle, are we getting ready for lunch?"
"Yes, yes, yes, lunch. Then we can set off," Leng Xiangnan said, clasping his hands behind his back and affecting a calm demeanor.
"Leng Ning, why don’t you go help with lunch? I’m going to chat with Uncle for a bit," Jiang Xinghai said. He could see that Leng Xiangnan was hesitating to say something, so he sent Leng Ning away first.
As soon as Leng Ning left, Leng Xiangnan took the initiative to offer Jiang a cigarette. "Jiang, there’s something I, uh... actually, never mind."
"Please, Uncle, feel free to speak," Jiang Xinghai said as he and Leng Xiangnan strolled forward, eventually reaching the riverbank.
"Well, uh, the thing is... I’ve been feeling a bit... powerless, lately. I was hoping you could take a look at me," Leng Xiangnan asked, looking extremely awkward.
Jiang Xinghai smiled and said, "Well, for a man, his twenties and thirties are his prime. Although you’re in your forties, Uncle, there shouldn’t normally be any issues."
"Sigh. It only lasts a minute... Your aunt doesn’t even love me anymore..." Leng Xiangnan said, taking a hard drag from his cigarette.
"I see."
Jiang Xinghai spoke eloquently. "Actually, at your age, Uncle, you have elders to care for and children to raise. Stress is unavoidable. Then there are external pressures... For instance, could your aunt’s attitude be related to menopause?"
"Wow, Jiang, you really know a lot," Leng Xiangnan said, growing more and more convinced that Jiang Xinghai’s medical skills must be incredible.
"Later, I’ll prescribe you some Chinese medicine to take for seven days straight. I’ll also prescribe something for your aunt to nourish her yin and tonify her kidneys. I guarantee you’ll both be back to normal soon, so you won’t have to feel so awkward, Uncle," Jiang Xinghai said seriously.
Leng Xiangnan was thrilled but still asked tactfully, "Jiang, I was wondering... is there a faster, more effective method? Something like a Secret Technique, for example?"
