Chapter 123: All Down!
Sunnie smiled as she approached him. "Help me out, please." She pulled on his hand. "Please."
"No. I’m not getting in there or anything. I don’t know what’s going to get on my face. No. I need to keep it perfect for now," Eris shook his head, folding his arms as he stared at her.
Sunnie blinked as she said, "Your face is already so perfect. I mean, look, you look so perfect and all. I don’t think you need anything else."
She smiled. "You’re the best looking here as well. And..." She leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. "Wouldn’t you make me happy by helping me this time? Huh?"
At that moment, Eris blinked. He could hear his heart fluttering. It was beating fast, and he began panicking.
Why was he like that? Wasn’t he the one who was supposed to make people’s hearts flutter? He had always been good at that! So why was it the other way around?
He stared at Sunnie, who was blinking at him with what he recalled as the cutest stare he had seen in a while. Was Sunnie this cute and pretty? He didn’t think he could recall.
"Please..." Sunnie pulled closer. "Help me..."
He hesitated, trying to shake his head in refusal. But Sunnie added, "You’re already so good-looking and handsome... sometimes I can’t even think straight looking at you... You always take my mind away."
Eris’s face kept flushing at the comment. But he kept his calm as he turned to her, folding his arms. "It’s okay, it’s okay... don’t worry, I’ll help," he said firmly. "I already know that I’m handsome and all."
Sunnie smiled as she leaned in and kissed him on the cheek again. His face flushed as he blinked.
[Ding!]
[Three down; two to go!]
Sunnie turned to the other two. She knew she was in for a whole lot of trouble, but she would have to try at least. She needed that reward from the system, and she needed that land too.
Sunnie stared at them for a while as Zayn stared back. Karl folded his arms, looking away. Sunnie approached and smiled at Zayn. "Well, the thing is... I’d also need your help."
Zayn stared down at her. He had a firm expression—an expression that was curious and intrigued at the same time. "And why would you need my help?"
She blinked. "Ah, because you all can help me..."
Zayn hesitated with a scoff. "I see. Well, maybe try convincing me. I’m waiting."
Sunnie stared at him, and at that moment, she realized that she really didn’t have smart ways to convince him. It also struck her that she didn’t know Zayn that much at all.
He had always been there but never really there. She had always seen him around but had never truly seen him. She never really knew Zayn enough to use something against him.
It was strange. She didn’t know Zayn that much at all.
Zayn smiled when she stood there quietly without anything much to say. "That’s good, then," Zayn said. "I’ll help you."
"Huh?" Sunnie stared at him, confused. "Why...?"
He had a mischievous smile on his face with both arms folded as he added, "Just because."
He was the most vague among them all, Sunnie could say that. He was the most unpredictable beast husband, extremely hard to read or even understand. One who was there but not always there. Sunnie didn’t know how to understand him. Even the original body didn’t have much knowledge of him.
And this had Sunnie curious about Zayn at that moment.
[Ding!]
[Four down; one to go!]
At that moment, Sunnie figured she was almost close to completing her task. So she turned to Karl, who was staring at Zayn.
"I guess you’re that easy to convince," he said as he turned to meet Sunnie’s eyes. "You should give up with me. You’re never going to convince me at all."
Sunnie stared at him. She guessed flattering him wouldn’t help in this setting and environment. So she thought of something else. "I won’t bother, because I already know how unfaithful you are."
He glared at her. "What do you mean by that? Huh?"
Sunnie folded her arms, a serious expression on her face. "Weren’t you the one who promised to help me? Huh? I didn’t ask for it, but you promised to pay me back for saving you back then. And now? You’re just abandoning me like that? Not a loyal bird at all! Hmph!"
"...." Karl glared at her. "You... what rubbish are you saying? I already helped you build the house."
Sunnie scoffed. "So you’re gauging it? After all I did for you?" She began faking tears, sobbing. "I knew I shouldn’t have counted on you. I should have thought of another way. Now look at me!" She sobbed harder.
"...."
"...."
"...."
"Are you okay?" Azure asked, worried, as he leaned closer.
She shook her head. "No. I’m not. Who knew birds don’t keep their word at all? And here I was trusting that he would help us! But he didn’t." She sobbed hard.
Luka blinked as he stared at Karl. "Look, you made the female cry."
Karl stared at her. "What did I do? I didn’t promise..."
She cried harder as Karl blinked, shocked. "You... I’m a loyal bird who always keeps his word! I didn’t...!"
She cried more. Immediately, Karl folded his arms, looking around. He felt his pride being threatened at that moment. Without much consideration, he said, "Okay, okay! I’ve heard you. I’ll do it. I’ll do it. So stop whining already. I’m a loyal bird who always keeps his word... so I’ll keep it again!" He insisted, folding his arms and raising his chin with pride.
Sunnie smiled at that moment. Her tears disappeared into a smile as she stared up at him, blinking happily. "Is that so? That’s good, then! Thanks for your help!"
"....."
"....."
Karl was stunned. "You...!"
[Ding!]
[Congratulations Host! All five down!]
