Chapter 78: Take it or..?
Sunnie took the modern-style pill she got from the system and put it close to his mouth. "Here, take it."
Karl moved his head away. "What do you want to give me...? Take it away..." He groaned, refusing her pill.
Sunnie blinked. "Hey! Take this now. I spent money on this. And you need it, else you’ll die in less than a minute."
She insisted, trying to put it into his mouth, but he kept moving his head, refusing the pill.
"Take that away... I’ll be fine. I don’t need your help..." He insisted.
Sunnie sighed, rolling her eyes. "There’s not much time left. You leave me no choice..."
Sunnie put the pill into her mouth and held it there. She leaned close to Karl, who sat there with his eyes still closed. And then she grabbed his chin, pressing his cheeks to part his mouth.
When Karl had opened his mouth, Sunnie leaned in and pressed her lips against his. She didn’t stop at just the kiss; she also thrust her tongue into his mouth and sent the pill straight down his throat.
Sunnie didn’t stop there but continued the kiss, pressing her lips and tongue into his mouth while making sure he swallowed the pill.
Karl stiffened in immense shock as he flipped his eyes open. Shock ran through his veins as he stared at the lips against his mouth.
It was a kiss. His first kiss! His lips were against someone else’s, and their tongue was in his mouth. He panicked at the sight and feel of it, but his body was paralyzed. He couldn’t do anything—he couldn’t even push her away!
When Sunnie was done, she moved backwards as she smiled at him. "Good boy. You finally took the pill."
Karl was too shocked to even speak. He glared at her, speechless, as he instantly ran his hands through his lips, wiping it clean. "What... what did you do...? Why did you... do that?!"
Sunnie smiled. "Don’t overthink it. I didn’t do it because I was desperate for your mouth. I was just trying to save you, stubborn birdy."
Karl was still panicking.
The others were already done beating the leopards to death. So they stood there, having witnessed the kiss.
Luka blinked. "Whoa, isn’t that the first time Karl has gotten that close to a female?"
Eris smiled. "Of course. And he’s probably going to freak out from now onwards... and I’m going to have a good time teasing him for a long time."
"You...!" Karl struggled to his feet. "You took advantage of me... How could you..." He staggered, feeling dizzy.
Sunnie also got up, staring at him. "You’ve not gotten better yet. So stop getting all worked up over a mere kiss."
Karl was still panicking. "A mere kiss? Since when did you get this shameless...? I..." He staggered again but this time fell down, unconscious.
The others rushed to pick him up, but Sunnie stared without saying anything. The system beeped.
[Ding!]
[Host has successfully sustained her Eagle Husband]
[Hurry and save him before the deadline runs out leading to his death!]
[Duration: 1 day]
She sighed with a smile. "At least we’ve got enough time to save him."

While they headed back, Luka suggested bringing back the leopards’ meat. At least it would serve them a decent meal or something. Sunnie agreed with it.
And so the four husbands carried four portions of meat back. They didn’t take the last one because Azure had poisoned the animal, so it wasn’t safe to eat at all.
They put the unconscious Karl onto the wolf while Sunnie sat down behind him. The two of them rode the wolf, which led the pack, while the others trekked.
As soon as they arrived, everyone gathered in shock. They were surprised to see Karl unconscious.
"Is he dead?" Little Black asked as Eris cast him a cold glare. He blinked as Zukka placed his hand over Little Black’s mouth.
They took the leopards’ bodies and handed them to the women. Sunnie had requested that they help prepare the meat.
They gladly did so while Sunnie, her beast husbands, Little Black, and Zukka stayed in the cave where Karl’s body was kept.
Karl lay there unconscious as Sunnie ran another diagnosis.
"What’s wrong with him?" Little Black asked.
"Food poisoning," Sunnie explained, examining.
Little Black blinked. "Who poisoned him?"
Sunnie smiled. "Not that kind of poisoning. He ate some bad food in the woods, and it’s affecting him."
Little Black nodded. "Ah... I see. I’ve lived long in the woods, so I’d know what to eat and what not to eat. He probably knows nothing and ate some wild fruit."
Eris cast him a cold glare again as he raised his chin. "What? Did I lie?" Zukka covered his mouth again as he struggled to speak.
Sunnie continued the examining and soon figured out what was needed. She told them to take care of him while she headed out to prepare what was needed.
"Little Black, come with me. We have to find some herbs," she smiled at him.
Little Black nodded. "Sure!" His ears twitched as he happily jumped out.
"I’ll follow you for protection," Azure insisted.
"No. Stay here and look after things. I’ll be going with Zukka and Zuna," she explained as Little Black frowned.
"Not him!"
Zukka smiled. "Let’s go."
Sunnie smiled as she took Zuna and Zukka along. Atan tagged along too to protect the twins. The five of them made their way into the woods as Sunnie searched through the recommended herbs provided by the system.
They weren’t hard to get. Sunnie knew where to look. And so she went to the garden where she had met those poisonous squirrels.
As soon as they saw Sunnie, they were reminded of what Sunnie had provided them.
"Excuse me... but can we take some herbs...?" Sunnie requested with a warm smile.
Without hesitation, the squirrels all nodded in agreement.
Sunnie smiled back. "Thanks a lot."
