Chapter 84: In return...?
The two beavers’ eyes lit up with excitement as they stared at Sunnie. They were clearly excited about the news.
Sunnie stared at the system as it presented her with the requirements, which were mostly herbs.
Sunnie looked around, but there wasn’t any here. "I guess there’s nothing here to help with it..."
Sunnie asked Little Black to inquire if they had any herbs around here. But Little Black shook his head as their answer.
Sunnie sighed. "I guess I’ll have to get that from the system... Going up now is too far." She sighed as she summoned her system store.
Sunnie browsed through the herbs. She spent almost 1,000 coins purchasing the rare herbs needed from the system.
After she had gotten them, Sunnie went behind a rock and picked them up. Everyone curiously stared, watching as she took the herbs to a rock.
Sunnie placed them on the rock and used another rock to grind and blend them together. All she needed was the liquid they made. And when she was done obtaining it, Sunnie got up and approached the female beaver with it.
She signaled for the beaver to open her mouth. At first, her husband was skeptical and didn’t want it. But Little Black assured them that she knew what she was doing.
And so they let her. The female beaver opened her mouth as Sunnie dripped the liquid substance into it. Having done so, the beaver closed her mouth and eyes.
It was bitter, so it took time for it to digest. But after a while, she was fine again. The beaver let out a sigh as she stared at Sunnie.
Sunnie gently stroked her fur as she said, "Don’t worry, you’ll be fine now. This will help clear off the blockage, and next time you’ll be able to give birth successfully."
Little Black conveyed the message as they stared at Sunnie, surprised. They were skeptical that she had done it so casually!
"How can we trust you...?" Little Black repeated the words of the skeptical husband.
Sunnie smiled as she said, "I know I can’t make her give birth right now since she’s not currently pregnant. But soon, her stomach will stop hurting. She won’t feel the pain anymore, and that alone is a sign. Isn’t it?"
The two beavers stared at each other. It would be a sign, and they knew it. But they guessed they’d have to wait for that to happen.
"While we wait for that to happen..." Sunnie stepped backwards. She looked around. "We all need to find somewhere to hide."
They were all confused. "Why?" Eris asked.
"Well," Sunnie smiled. "Soon, she’ll be releasing some... grand gas... which will free her. So we need to... like... take cover."
They understood what she meant. Little Black told the beavers with a sign as they all nodded.
The female beaver pointed to a hole in the cave, and without hesitation, they all moved into it. The male beaver stayed with his wife nevertheless.
---
It took a minute, and then a mini explosion took place. Sunnie and the rest were in the hole, so they didn’t see it. But they felt it—the massive blow that shook the underground for a short while.
They couldn’t tell where it came out from here. They didn’t wish to know. They only waited for some time before they began making their way out to meet them.
They found the husband blown off to the side, staggering to stand his ground. Sunnie couldn’t help but smile at the scene. "Well, I did tell someone."
They approached the female, who was now on her feet, staggering. But she was slowly getting herself together.
She sat down, shaking her head as Sunnie asked her, "So? How are you feeling right now?"
The beaver said nothing. She sat there for a while staring into the distance. She took some time before she shook her head and then blinked. She hiccuped a couple of times, cleared her throat and head, and then began speaking.
Little Black smiled. "She says she feels great!"
He continued, "She said her stomach doesn’t feel clogged like it did before... and she feels... better and stronger too."
Her husband approached while hearing his wife’s testimony. He felt excited to listen.
Sunnie smiled. "That’s more like it. It’ll only get better from here. First, you’ll gradually stop feeling the pain. Soon, your body system will get better and stronger. And when your immune system is strong enough, it’ll be able to hold onto the baby, and you can deliver safely."
Little Black explained this to them as the female beaver smiled happily. "Thanks! Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it..." She couldn’t stop bowing. Sunnie at least understood what she intended to say.
"No problem. It’s my pleasure."
The male beaver was happy about his wife’s improvement. Even he couldn’t help but thank and appreciate them. He apologized for what he did, and then he ended up saying, "If you need anything, let us know. I’d be more than happy to help repay what you’ve done for the two of us!"
Little Black translated it as Sunnie looked around with thoughts. She couldn’t come up with anything for now.
"Well, I don’t know if there’s anything you can help us with right now..." She suddenly came to a stop as she stared at a corner of the cave.
She saw water leaking from that hole. Little by little, the water was dropping. And immediately, an idea came to her mind—one that she didn’t know was right in front of her, one that she knew they would certainly need.
She smiled as she said, "Well, there’s actually something really important I’d need your help with, if you don’t mind."
Little Black conveyed the message as they stared, curiously.
"And what is it?" Little Black said.
Sunnie smiled and said, "I’d like you to help us make a stream and generate water to flow into it naturally."
